Evie

The first thing I did was check out how the new girl, Mack, organized my clothes in thr closet. Then, I went to the bathroom to see how things were set up in there. I approved of the organization and decided that I was going to like Mack, she and I thought a lot alike. I started to explore the room a little bit more.

The bathroom was much larger than the one at my townhouse. It had a large, two person, walk in shower that was elboartly tiled with a bench against the back wall and two shower heads. There was also a large, jacuzzi tub. A vanity stretched across the length of the opposite wall with one sink and an unnecessary amount of counter space and cabinets. A counter to ceiling mirror hung above the vanity.

I decided to take a shower and enjoy the lavish amenities of the bathroom. I took what must have been the longest shower of my life, only finishing up when the water ran cold. I dried off, brushed my teeth, and took care of my hair before exiting the bathroom. I switched off the bathroom light and found my way to the large walk-in closest, picking out a pair of comfy joggers and a loose fitting T-shirt. When I walked back into the bedroom, a knock sounded at the door before it slowly opened.

“Hello? Luna?” A small voice asked.

“Come in!” I called out, walking towards the door. A petite woman with shiny black hair, stark white skin, and big, brown eyes entered the room; she couldn’t have been much older than me.

“Hi, Luna! I’m Mack.” She smiled, standing just inside the door.

“Hi, Mack, please just call me Evie.” I smiled back at her. She seemed surprised by this but quickly composed her expression,

“Can I help you with anything? Is the room to your liking?” She asked, looking around the room.

“Oh, yes, everything is fine.” I said.

“Alpha says that you can make any changes you want, are you sure there’s nothing I can have done for you?” She asked again, seeming eager to please.

I wasn’t one to really care about decorations or personalizing. In fact, the only decorating I did to my townhome was adding pictures of my family and some artwork. But, if I was going to spend more time here, I needed something to keep myself occupied when Noah was busy.

“Actually, it would be great to have some art supplies brought in. I like to paint and draw, it would be something to occupy my time.” I shrugged. Mack lit up.

“I can definitely take care of that for you! Is there anything specific you need?” She asked.

“I can make you a list?” I suggested. She nodded eagerily, grabbing a pen and pad of paper from the bedside table and handing it over. I quickly thought up all the things I needed, even some more elaborate items that I wouldn’t usually buy for myself. I handed the pad back to Mack,

“Thank you.” I smiled at her and she bowed her head,

“Of course, Luna, I’ll get on this right away.” I sighed at her for not using my name but said nothing as she left the room. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

I decided to take my chances at navigating the large packhouse and finding Noah’s office. I remembered that Sawyer had taken me there during my tour. I knew it was on the first floor and it was towards the back, closer to the library than any of the other amenities.

I rode the elevator down to the first floor and started to snake my way through the winding hallways of the packhouse. I knew I was getting close when the chatter and activity of the pack members began to die away. I ended up in the library and knew I had taken a wrong turn. I sighed frustradily, turning around to head back in the direction I had come from, when I ran face first into the chest of a man.

Ooof!” I gasped, stumbling backwards and looking up towards the body I had run into,

“I’m so sorry!” I apologized, studying his face. There was something familiar about it. The man did not look pleased as he frowned down at me.

“What are you doing here?” He grumbled, glaring at me. I took another step back, startled at his harsh tone.

“I’m….I’m with Alpha Noah.” I didn’t know what to say. Everyone knew who I was, I never had to introduce myself before.

“I know who you are, human, I want to know why you are here.” He snapped. It was then that I realized why this man looked familiar. He had the same round, chiseled face and olive eyes of my mate. This was Noah’s father.

“I’m looking for Noah’s office.” I found my voice and straightened my back.

I knew this man didn’t approve of me and I was determined to prove him wrong. I glared into his hardened eyes. They were the same color as Noah’s, but that’s where the similarities ended. Noah’s eyes were soft with a mischievous sparkle in them. Toby Landry’s eyes were lifeless.

“You don’t belong there,” He replied planly,

“You should do what you’re told and stay in your room.” I blinked at him in shock,

“I was told to make myself comfortable.” I said, crossing my arms across my chest.

“You can do that by staying put.” He argued.

“Noah….” The man growled at me, grabbing a hold of my arm and blocking my escape,

“That’s Alpha to you.” Toby threatened me, his eyes pitch black.

“Let go of me.” I demanded, glaring at his hand on my arm.

“You will show me some respect.” Toby roared. My eyes narrowed on him. I gathered up all my courage and spat out the words that Noah, Sawyer, Molly, and so many others had told me,

“I owe you nothing. I am your Luna.” I felt an unrecognizable voice slip through my lips that startled both myself and Noah’s father. Toby stumbled backwards, releasing my arm.

“Not if I have anything to do about it.” Toby grumbled, shaking his head as he walked away from me.

I felt myself shaking uncontrollably, tears threatening to pour out of my eyes as I waited for the man to be out of view. I hurried down the hallway and finally found Noah’s office just a few feet away from where I had been. Before I could stop myself, I was shoving open his door and stumbling inside.
