Chapter No 26 Escape for life

She was running in the woods for hours, she does not know where she is going. All she wanted was to go away. She was running as fast as she could.

“Why am I not feeling exhausted when we are running for hours?” She asked.

“I have told you, you are a werewolf,” Clair said.

“I still can’t digest this,” said Hazel, annoyed.

“Whatever,” said Clair, disappointed.

She was deep now deep in the forest.

Now she started feeling exhausted. She decided to sit beside the tree.

“I never expected this day to come in my life,” she thought.

“I was trying to communicate with you but in vain I don’t know why,” said Clair.

She closed her eyes slowly and was about to sleep when she heard a rustle in the bushes.

She opened her eyes and looked around. Much to her horror, a black wolf was staring at her.

“We thought you were a dead bitch but you survived,” said the wolf.

“Clair? What is happening?” She asked her wolf as she felt her anxiety.

“We have never shifted before I am afraid,” said Clair.

“What now? He will eat us,” said Hazel, afraid.

The wolf was walking towards her. She took a few steps back. She looked around and a stone caught her eyes, she grabbed it and hit the wolf on its head. The wolf felt a sharp pain in its head. She ran as fast as she could from there,

She was afraid. her heart was beating very fast.

She fell and her knees started bleeding, she got up, and started running again. She did not want to get eaten by the wolf so she kept running until she collided with something strong. She looked up, it was a boy who had deep blue eyes and fawn hair. She had gone faint and he held her in his arms.

“Dear Luna, the poor girl must have gone through a lot. There are burn marks on her body, a little scar, a few new, a few old. We have to be patient” said Blake, the pack doctor.

“Where have you found her Kai?” Asked Grace.

“I was walking in the woods when she came running and then she collided with me and went faint,” said Kai.

“Have you felt any scent around her?” She asked.

“Yeah, the scent I have never felt before,” he said.

Grace was thinking something.

“What is it?” He asked curiously.

“I have a mind link to your uncle, he would be here at any time,” she said and left the room.

He walks slowly towards the bed.

“Who are you lone wolf, you seem so terrified, I never saw someone this horror-stricken,” he whispered.

“I want to see her,” said Mateo.

She was lying on the bed. She looked very thin and exhausted.

“Poor girl she must have gone through a lot,” said Grace.

Hazel opened her eyes, slowly and was trying to recognize her surroundings.

“She is awake,” whispered Kai.

He walked towards her. She got up. Looking at him she had gone terrified again.

“Relax I won’t hurt you,” he said in a whisper. Grace and Wanda walked ahead to help her.

“Relax you are safe, this is Kai, he brought you here,” said Wanda.

She walked slowly behind Kai. He felt her silence.

“What happened?” He asked.

“Nothing,” she said shortly.

They were walking by the lawn when they heard moans.

“Who? You? or me? You came later,” said Kai.

“Whatever you think, you ruined my romantic life,” he said.

“Hazel, this is my younger twin brother, Ryan, Ryan this is Hazel,” he said.

“Wait, who is she?” He asked while walking towards her.

“Do you know what is happening in the pack?” He said annoyed.

“No,” he said shortly and went towards the girl again.

“Ask mum then,” Kai said and turned towards the kitchen while Hazel followed him.

“The pie is mine,” said Kylian.

“No, I said I will have it if you take the eggs,” said Carmen.

“Why do you always have to do it?” Screamed Kylian.

“Because I am older,” she said.

“Yeah three days older than me,” he said angrily.

“Whatever,” she shrugs.

“Why do you guys always fight? You are 14 now, not 4” said Kai angrily.

“Whatever the pie is mine” she shrugged.

Kai had put his hand over his head in disappointment. Hazel walked ahead, she took the pie tray from the counter.

“Hey,” Carmen was annoyed.

Hazel had cut the pie beautifully into pieces.

“Here now you both can have it,” she said calmly.

“Not bad, I like you by the way, who are you?” Asked Carmen.

“I am Hazel,” she said softly.

“You must be hungry, want some pie?” He asked.

She nodded and took a piece of the pie. Kai was smiling.

“You might need new clothes, you can borrow mine and we can go shopping later,” said Carmen.

“No I am fine,” she said hesitantly.

“No never, we will go shopping,” she said stubbornly.

“Yeah that’s something she loves,” said Kylian.

Carmen gives him a death glare.

“I know my Alpha, we cross-checked, and we found her dead but I still don’t know how she is still….” He tried to say something when he cut him off in the middle.

“Shut up you are useless,” he said while punching him.

“I have to take some action over this,” he said while thinking about something.

“So you don’t know anything about us? Are you a werewolf?” asked Zyair.

“Yeah I don’t know, I just found it last evening,” Hazel said awkwardly.

“Nice meeting you Hazel,” Carmen again.

“Stop calling me this, I will put your booty at stake,” said Carmen.

Hazel was feeling too uneasy.

“What happened Hazel?” asked Kai.

“Nothing,” she said shortly.

“Is there anything you want to ask?” he asked.

“No, it’s not. I am just new to this thing,” she said.

Then Ryan and Kylian entered the room near the kitchen.

Ryan gave her a sigh and sat beside the nearby chair.

Kylian was holding his favorite book.

“I know why she is feeling so much awkward, we have not introduced ourselves properly,” said Carmen.
