Chapter No 44 Betrayed

Caleb POV

From the beginning I felt odd, like I was a penguin in the race of robots, only alive being in the pack. It all happened on my 5 birthday. My parents were too cold, even my twin sister was too cold towards me, towards everyone. But showing no emotions in River-stone was normal. My parents were the last couple in the pack who had found their mate, after that no one had found their mate and they all were normal about it. It was my 5th birthday night when I was in deep sleep. I heard whispers, strange whispers in my head, it was familiar with the mind-link but it was eerie. I have never felt fear, never cried before that night, but that night and that voice changed something in me.

“She is not your Luna, she is not worthy to be Luna, you are living a plan, you are part of a very bad plan,” I heard a very calm voice of a woman. In werewolves, we are unable to talk to our wolf until we turn seven, so it would be the very last thing I would have thought that it’s my wolf talking. I opened my eyes suddenly and got out of bed.

“Who is it?” I asked.

“Listen she is not your Luna, you are my last hope in the pack listen” I heard the voice again and this time I became afraid and I screamed.

After that, all the lights in the house lit up and my parents came inside my room and my twin was awake too. They all were expressionless and emotionless. Only I was showing some emotions.

“Mom, I, I am afraid,” I said.

“What?” said my Dad expressionlessly.

“What are you talking about? You are afraid of the wind?” asked my twin.

“Mom, Dad I am telling the truth I heard the voices, I heard some strange voices in the head,” I said.

“You should go to bed,” said my mom and expressionlessly they all left the room.

I went towards my bed and got laid. I was still thinking about what I had heard.

After that, I was changed. I no longer like Riverstone. I heard those voices again and again. River-stone has long stopped feeling the inner wolf, so indeed I have not talked to my wolf, but yeah we could mind-link others.

That day when Eden saved me from a dare, I saw him for the first time, I asked my twin about him and she said he belonged to the North-pole pack.

It made me obsessed with Riverstone, North-pole, and Floroscura Pack connections, I started searching for the clue and the past. I came to know about Alpha Althea being connected to the River-stone pack and the North-pole war where they lost their Alpha.

I was sitting in the café with my twin when I heard Fred, Eden’s friend.

“How will we tell this Hazel?” he said worriedly.

“I never knew he was this kind of a jerk,” said Ethan, I put my ears on to hear.

“I am damn sure this is not good, this is a mess,” said Fred.

“What are they talking about?” I thought and followed them towards the lockers. As I entered the lockers my eyes were wide open in disbelief that Eden was making out with Patricia.

“Patricia, what are you doing? He is now someone’s mate” I asked in disbelief. No one could touch anyone’s mate; it was law.

She looked at me with nasty proud expressions.

“You are my cousin but don’t forget I am your upcoming Alpha, don’t you dare to come in my way,” she said, I looked at her in disbelief and then to Fred and Ethan who were looking at Eden in disappointment.

I left in disappointment but I never felt calm after that. I was feeling anxious. I was walking beside the lockers when I saw her. She was looking upset and asking everyone about Eden.

“Have you seen Eden?” she was asking Carmen. She looked at me as if she knew I knew where he was, but she stopped.

She was looking at something in her locker. I was feeling unknowingly anxious like something strange is going to happen.

“Go after her, Caleb go after her, if you do not go after her everything will be over, Caleb now,” I heard the voice again and for the first time, it was not calm it was anxious as if something bad was going to happen.

I rushed towards her and took her with me.

She was looking at them with disbelief. “Eden is my mate,” she said every word clenching her teeth.

“Hazel, calm down please,” said Aria. Hazel’s eyes were turning purple.

“Wait what, she is a Cannis Lupus?” said Aria shocked. “Oh no, we have to calm her down,” said Caleb while raising her hands.

“She looks fine,” said Caleb without any expressions.

“You feeling less dumb, she is Canis lupus, if she have force shift she become violent and this could be dangerous for others because the force shift could not be reversed at least for a weak,” she said while trying to calm her down.

“What on the earth are you talking about?” asked Caleb, irritated.

“Calm her down” she screamed. Hazel’s hair started turning white.

“White hair? How could it be?” asked Aria, shocked.

“How would I calm her down, the only person who could do it is making out with bitch cousin of mine,” he said frustrated.

“You have to say that in front of her?” she said angrily.

Hazel ran towards him to hit him in rage when he held her shoulders. After a while, she had gone faint in his arms.

“I did nothing,” he said while looking at his hand.

“She fainted because you touched her,” she said.

“I am talking about the thing I have seen with my very own eyes, now help me to put her on the bed,” she said.

They adjust her over the bed.

“Now what?” he asked.

“Her eyes turned purple, she is Canis lupus, but could it be, I mean none of Canis Lupus has left the pack for ages except our Luna, who is this girl?” she asked while looking at Hazel.

“No one knows she is Canis Lupus, when I was searching about Althea’s past, I have got little info that she lived in our pack, she betrayed the pack and kill of a white wolf and ran away towards North-pole, some says it was North-pole’s plan,” he said while scratching his head.

“It was North-pole’s plan,” she mimic his voice, acting like him, mocking him. “Our Luna was not a traitor, your bloody Alpha has rejected her, he even killed their baby,” she said angrily.

“But all I know is that Julia has been his mate since the beginning,” he said.

“I can bet over your body that this is the biggest lie,” she said angrily.

“I have more questions, how did you make her faint?” she asked doubtfully.

“I don’t know, I never did this before,” he said shrugging; she rolled her eyes at him.

“Where on the earth are you?” She received a mind link from Zoe.

“My friend is asking where I am,” she said worriedly.

“Could we trust them for what we found?” he asked.

“I don’t know,” she said shortly. He took a deep breath.

“Okay fine, I will do something about Hazel, I will stay with her, I can drop you if you want to as it is not safe,” he said while looking inside her eyes.

“It’s okay I will be there in no time,” she said smiling.

“Take care of her, I will call you,” she said.

“Okay,” he said shortly.

“Wait what where you got my number from,” he asked and she smiled.

“She is intelligent,” he thought.

“I never talk to you because you are River-stone and North-pole don’t talk to them,” she said.

“There are things you need to understand Hazel,” he said softly.

“I don’t know what Charm you have put over him, but I have news for you, the doors of North-pole are closed for you, don’t you dare to come here,” said Carmen and hung up the phone.

He walked toward her and mollified her. “Listen, I am here with you, I won’t leave by your side,” he said worriedly.

“My home North-pole, I have lost my home, where I will live now,” she said while crying.

“I have lost friends, I have lost my mate where I will live,” she said.

“I will keep you safe, we will figure this out, I know there is a huge plan behind this,” he said worriedly.

His phone started ringing, he lifted it. It was some unknown number.

He picks it up.

“Hello,” he said in a deep voice.

“How is she?” a female voice could be heard from the other side.

“Fine, we have a problem here,” he said expressionlessly.

“Maybe this is happening because you are home sick” said Harper while polishing her nails.

“Listen I am not joking, the girl needs us, North-pole has kicked her out she is our kind” said Aria.

“What are you talking about? They kicked out their Luna?” asked Skylar.

“I am afraid it’s true” said Aria.

“Poor girl, but the mystery is how come she is Canis Lupus?” asked Kyden.

“I think we should meet her” said Skylar.

“Wait what? we are going to meet her means we are going to mess with someone else matters, remember what Alpha has told us? We are not going to put our finger in someone else mess” said Justin. He was an angry bird in the group.

“I want to help that girl and that’s all” said Aria.

“You are not leader” said Justin.

“Shut up both of you” said Harper angrily. She rarely gets angry due to jolly nature, every turn towards her.
