Explosion at Ecuadorian consulate kills 13, including 2 journalists
New York (AP)—Two journalists, Anton Wiess (Associated Press) and Max Overton (freelance) were among the 13 dead after a terrorist bomb exploded outside New York’s Ecuadorian consulate. An additional 35 people were taken to the hospital, including seven in critical condition. Police and the FBI are currently investigating the scene and have not ruled out terrorist involvement. Two security personnel of the Ecuadorian consulate are believed to be among the dead.
Two undercover police shot dead on NY subway
New York (AP)—Two undercover police officers were shot dead by private security forces on the New York subway during the morning rush hour. The security company has issued a statement that their personnel were responding to an unprovoked attack on a client. The security personnel are believed to have been escorting an attempted purchase of the original sex tape footage of singer/songwriter Tyell when the shootout occurred. An eyewitness account has stated that the undercover officers did not identify themselves and were the first to fire. Two of the private security personal and three bystanders were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, including one woman in serious condition.
