Chapter 29 

Annabelle had never considered this problem before. The real Lucas Walker was very different from the rumored Mr. Walker. He looked like a good person and was not as scary as the rumors said. 

However, at this moment, when she saw him wearing five–figure slippers and using a four–figure cup with a cuff worth tens of thousands of dollars, Annabelle started to get the feeling from the rumors. 

The slippers that she bought for twenty–or–so dollars were indeed not worthy! 

“How about this? This pair will be for Nate!” Annabelle said seriously after thinking for a while. Although Nathan’s feet were not that big. Annabelle did not care. It was not much bigger. Moreover, unlike other types of shoes, slippers were more comfortable if they were bigger. “I’ll have him come and get them tomorrow. Take a look again. What else can you not stand? With this thought in mind, Annabelle became even bolder. She lowered her head and said fiercely, “I’ll sleep in the guest room tonight!” 

When Lucas heard this, he could not help but raise his eyebrows. “Hal” he thought. Annabelle was not big person, but her temper was quite big! 

“Do you dare?”

“Is this how you treat marriage? Do you want to sleep in separate rooms whenever there’s a disagreement? Would you even get a divorce when there is a disagreement in the future? Where do you put me in your heart? Where do you put our two children?” 

The self–righteous Annabelle immediately felt guilty. After silently reflecting for a moment, she suddenly realized that she was in the wrong, but Lucas was not completely innocent either. Annabelle felt wronged but she did not know what to say. Her eyes reddened, but she tried her best to hold back her 

tears. 

Lucas lifted Annabelle’s chin and saw her pitiful expression. Before Lucas could say anything, his hand was slapped away by a certain someone. 

“Don’t touch me!” Annabelle lowered her head and said angrily. 

When Lucas beard this, the corners of his mouth immediately curled up. He thought to himself, “You are my wife. I am the only one who can touch you in this lifetime!” 

As Lucas thought about this, he lifted Annabelle’s smooth and beautiful chin again. Before Annabelle could protest, Lucas leaned forward and covered 

Annabelle’s mouth. 

Annabelle, who was about to slap Lucas’s hand away again, was stunned by the kiss. 

After a while, she came back to her senses. She looked at the person in front of her and felt Lucas’s domineering and fierce kiss. Annabelle was ashamed and angry. The tears that she had been holding back finally rolled out of her eyes.

Lucas looked at Annabelle who was crying miserably and had no choice but to raise his hands in surrender. “It was my mistake!” 

“It is all your fault!” Annabelle was not afraid anymore. She sobbed and said, “So what if you’re rich? Can’t rich people use cheap things? I saw that you were pretty happy eating that one–dollar hot dog!” 

Lucas did not know how to reply. 

Lucas wanted to tell Annabelle that the hot dog he had bought cost far more than one dollar, but Lucas held back when he saw Annabelle’s red eyes. 

Besides, Lucas was not the kind of person who had to show off his wealth! On the other hand, he would not buy cheap things just to show how down–to- earth he was. The reality was that, after he took over the Pearl Group, he was no longer able to waste his time on shopping. These things were usually handled by his assistant. 

Of course, Lucas did not expect that he would make a little girl cry one day! 

“I’m not looking down on these things!” Lucas said. “I just feel that it’s too childish… too cute. It’s difficult for me to show my manly charisma” 

When Annabelle heard this, she could not help but laugh. “This is our home, not the outside world. Who are you showing off to? 

Lucas fell silent. 

Annabelle looked at Lucas’s speechless expression. Annabelle did not think that she was wrong. 

“Fine, I’ll wear it! I’ll use it! I will do whatever you want!” Inside, Lucas told himself that there was no other way. After all, Annabelle carried their child in her stomach. In fact, it was two kids! to herself. Annabelle was the only person that Lucas had no choice but to obey. 

Annabelle glared at Lucas, but the grievance in Annabelle’s heart dissipated a lot. 

After that, Lucas carried the heavier cutlery to the kitchen, and Annabelle carried the things that needed to be washed to the laundry room. 

The two of them worked together and quickly tidied up the messy room. 

Even the bed was changed into a fuzzy bedsheet. Fortunately, Annabelle knew that she should not go too overboard. When she picked the bedsheet, she did not choose her favorite color and chose a relatively plain color instead. Otherwise, she was afraid that Lucas would not be able to accept it. 

She could not completely ignore Lucas’s feelings just so she could be comfortable. She couldn’t be too selfish. 

As expected, Lucas took a look and did not have any complaints about it.

At night, Annabelle made some simple pasta with meat and vegetables. After dinner, Lucas took the initiative to wash the dishes.
