Chapter 43 

Lucas didn’t need the lobby manager to send him off. He went upstairs to Euphoria Hall. The waiter guarding the door knocked on the door when he saw him. Then, he opened the door and respectfully invited him into the private room. 

The private room was filled with people of both genders. Lucas knew all of them, but he was only familiar with a few, while the rest were just acquaintances. 

“Lucas! You’re finally here!” The man in the lead stood up to welcome him. The others also followed suit and greeted him one after another. Those who were familiar with him called him “Lucas” while the acquaintances called him “Mr. Walker“. They were rather casual with each other at first, but because of his arrival, there was suddenly a difference in seniority. 

Of course, no one was willing to argue about this. After all, there were many people who wanted to build a relationship with Lucas, the scion of the Walker family. If they could eat at the same table as him, they would be even willing to call him their biological father, 

let alone ‘Mr. Walker“. 

“Am I late?” Lucas glanced at his watch. It was exactly the time they agreed to meet. 

“Late? No! It’s all because we are looking forward to you!” Josh put his arm around Lucas’s shoulder and said with a friendly attitude, “Look, this is our star of the day. Were you incredibly eager to see him?”

Lucas elbowed the person on his shoulder away. He was not as tall as him, so he was tired from resting his arm on Lucas’s shoulder. 

Josh held his chest and looked at Lucas. He was heartbroken. “You forget your friends when you see a woman! I’m hurt!”

“Don’t just stand there. Sit down!” Josh sat down next to him. He didn’t forget to invite the others to sit with him. 

“What are your plans for coming back this time?” Lucas looked at the woman on the other side and asked naturally. 

“Plans?” When the woman heard this, she seemed to be in deep thought for a while before she laughed softly. “My plan is to come back and get married! Hmm, so, does your previous promise still count?” 

When Lucas heard this, he was stunned at first. Then, he thought of the distant memories that he had long forgotten. When he was five or six years old, he said that he would marry Yolanda when he grew up. 

Lucas thought that she was joking with him, so he laughed as well. “It probably doesn’t count anymore!” 

“Lucas, you can’t do this!” As soon as Lucas finished speaking, another man said, “How can a man go back on his word?” 

The few of them grew up in the same villa cluster. The people of his grandfather’s generation were as close as blood brothers. This friendship lasted until their generation. It was not that they did not have any conflicts. When they were young, they had fought over who got to marry Yolanda. When Lucas won, the others cried miserably at that time. They could be said to have a deep impression of 

this. 

Lucas smiled. “It’s really impossible to make it count!” 

“Why?” Everyone asked curiously. Even Yolanda stared at him with a burning gaze, as if she also wanted to know the reason. 

“Because I’m already married!” Lucas did not hide anything. “So, good luck!” 

Yolanda’s expression changed, but she quickly returned to normal. The others were not so calm, especially the few who were close to 

him. 

“You’re already married? Are you kidding me? How come we don’t know about such a big thing like your marriage?” Josh was the first to react agitatedly. After saying that, he looked at a scion, Irving, seated on the other side of him. “Irving, do you know about 

this?” 

Irving Johnson was the cousin of Lucas, the youngest son of Lucas’s uncle. 

Now that he had been called, he quickly stood up and said, “I don’t know. Our entire family doesn’t know!”

Chapter 43 

The people who had almost believed him when they saw how serious he was once again doubted the authenticity of his words. 

“Lucas, did you change your mind and say that on purpose?” Josh looked at him and asked tentatively. 

Lucas glanced at him and said calmly, “Don’t make me sound like you!” 

“Then what’s going on? Tell us!” Josh was a little anxious. When did he get married? As a close friend, he didn’t know at all. 

“It’s because my wife is pregnant and can’t stand noise, so we haven’t held a wedding. However, prepare the gifts that you should prepare beforehand. Just three sets of gifts for my wife and my children would be enough!” 

“Why three sets? Could it be that your wife is pregnant with twins?” The other person asked curiously. 

Then, everyone saw Lucas nod with a hint of smugness in his eyes. 

This time, no one doubted him anymore. This expression could not be faked! 

For a moment, everyone congratulated him incessantly. 

Only Yolanda’s expression changed again and again. In the end, it stopped with a smile. Then, she said, “Congratulations, Lucas!” 

“Thank you!” Lucas was still rather polite to the older girl next door he grew up with! 

The polite Lucas didn’t drink a single glass of wine when Yolanda and his friends toasted him. It wasn’t that he wanted to be a killjoy, but that his wife was pregnant and couldn’t stand the smell of alcohol! 

For this reason, no one dared to give him wine. 

The meal lasted an hour or two. After the meal, the group of people moved downstairs to sing. 

Lucas wanted to go home early, but unfortunately, his phone was quiet and devoid of any notifications. The heartless person at home was not worried that he would be seduced by the flirtatious sluts outside at all. Thinking of this, Lucas decided to be childish for once and did not leave early in a fit of pique. 

When Yolanda came over to talk to him, Lucas temporarily let go of the anger in his heart. 

Yolanda had only told him about her years overseas. Of course, she did not forget to ask him how he had lived all these years and what was going on with his wife. After all, it was obvious that his situation was not in the normal order. 

Otherwise, the Walker family’s second son, the helmsman of Pearl Group, would not have gotten married without any commotion. 

Speaking of this, Lucas was indeed a little embarrassed. However, even if it was the neighbor, Annabelle, he was not stupid enough to tell her everything. Lucas was serious when he said that he wanted to build a healthy and loving home for his children. He did not want anyone to point out any mistakes and affect his children in the future. 

“So it’s a shotgun marriage?” Yolanda said in surprise. “Do you really like her? Lucas, you can’t do this!”
