As soon as the assistant withdrew her hand, Michael stepped forward and supported Celia. However, the young woman hated being touched by men. Naturally, she shoved him away. “I can walk by myself.”

Alas, she stumbled just as she leaned against the wall to walk. Once again, Michael held her shoulder. “Let me take you upstairs to rest, Miss Stuart.”
