A Millionaire, His Suit, And Poor Me
A Millionaire, His Suit And Poor Me Chapter 5

It was Friday. The day I've been waiting for since last month. The day that would mark the beginning of any fashion. Our f: fashion show. We had been planning it for a month, everything was perfect down to the smallest detail.

Jace was shocked when he opened my bedroom door and found me already awake, sitting on the edge of the bed scratching my eyes to wake up completely.

“I didn't think you could function without me." He joked. I gave him a sleepy look.

“It will only happen once. Did you make breakfast?”

“Honey, I make breakfast every morning. Why would today be different?”

“You said it right. Now go away, I have to get ready. It will take at least an hour” I explained by bringing an amused Jace o of the room. I allowed myself the luxury of taking a bath, soaking in the bathtub and relaxing my muscles, thinking.

it will have nothing to do with Henris Steve anymore. We managed to write an article with the few answers we could get. I would no longer have to see this extremely intimidating but angelically beautiful man. The stress that appeared during tt few days I had to interact with him disappeared.

But a new stress replaced it, a stress that I didn't understand well. The stress of not seeing him anymore. I would never want to be in the same room with him and interact. Never. I would only want to do inappropriate things to her amazing body.

Jace knocked on the door, bringing me back to reality. “Quick! We must be there soon.”

“Go away!” I shouted. “I dream of Henris Steve naked.”

“I thought you hated itt"

I sighed as I got out of the bathtub, causing the water to overflow. “I think you were right that I needed to get laid!”

He laughed from the other side of the door, then I heard his footsteps moving away. I wrapped myself in a towel and drie my hair, then I used a curling iron to make it wavy. I then went to my room to get dressed.

I smiled with satisfaction at my choice. A red onesie that fit me perfectly, red velvet Alexander McQueeens, taken from the reserve at work, and my favorite handbag, black with lace details. Black and gold jewelry to go with it.

Putting on my shoes, I left the room leaning on the wall. I put on my makeup, not a lot but enough. I dyed my lips a dark color and put on mascara to complete, then I went to the kitchen.

Jace was singing while spreading jam on our English muffins. I made fun of her outfit. He was wearing red trousers with lapels at the ankles and oxford shoes. A short-sleeved plaid shirt with its usual bow tie. It was a beautiful outfit, except f the fuchsia apron that he had tied around his waist.

“Are you kidding me?" He asked, putting the muffin in front of me.

“Mhmm,” I whispered with my mouth full. I sipped my coffee to send the bite already. “You look fabulous, especially in yo CEO apron. But the red of the pants contrasts with the fuchsia.”

“It doesn’t matter,” he said, pretending to be bored. “I could wear it to the fashion show. Nice outfit, by the way. I didn’t even have to choose it for you."

I gave her a lick as I finished my muffin and started with the bowl of strawberries, happily eating the fresh fruit. After finishing the coffee, I poured each of us our usual second dose into large takeaway cups and we went out.

We took a taxi to our destination. The parade was supposed to take place in an elegant banquet hall in Brooklyn. Jace an were practically shaking with excitement in the taxi seat.

We have finally arrived. I paid the taxi driver and got off, taking the arm that Jace offered me with a smile. We walked side by side as usual, arm in arm, arm in arm and impeccably dressed.

When we entered, we found a restless atmosphere. Technicians were running here and there to try on lights. I could see Victoria in the corner shouting orders to the people around her, answering a call in the meantime. A well-dressed Alice ra up to us, the blond helmet always perfect.

“Oh, thank god, you're here,” he exclaimed, taking us by the arms, walking while talking to us. “A model has canceled, a dress is torn, Victoria is more into fumes than usual and we will soon have to have lunch. And Aaron is a complete mess.” Jace and I exchanged a look as we were dragged backstage. Victoria followed us, immediately giving orders.

“Jace, find a role model. Then find someone to fix the dress. Noras, make sure Aaron has everything he needs, then go get Lunch for all of us” he ordered. “And Alice, make sure that the only people who talk to me are important. Got it?”

We all nodded in agreement and parted ways. I looked for Aaron, I found him in a corner, with his head in his hands and anxious model in front of him. I approached him, lifting his head by the chin.

“Aaron, pull yourself together! Tell me what you need and Ill take care of it. I should be the one who can't stand the pressure, not you."

He laughed slightly, pulling his head out of my grip. “That's right,” he teased. “This model has injured her ankle and cann wear the heels that go with the dress. And she has to wear them, they complete the outfit”

I turned around, glancing at him. “And you would be?”

“tam...

“No, stop," I ordered, motioning him with my hand to stop. She looked startled. “It doesn't matter. You have to walk on th podium and you have to be perfect. There are only 40 meters. Beauty is pain. Now, go away!”

He ran away, and I smiled triumphantly. Aaron looked smug. “Next problem?” I smiled.

“Make sure all the right seats are reserved and save me a lot of trouble. I think someone called this morning and ruined everything."

I nodded, took a person's table plan and sipped my coffee while standing on the walkway and looking at the white chairs checking that there was the correct name on each of them. Everything was going well, until an assistant intervened, movi two names and placing them at the bottom of the list.

“What are you doing?” I said, alarmed. “They were where they needed to be!”

“Excuse me. Someone more important called to ask for two front row seats, and we won't say no."

“Who? Which could be more important than..."l looked at the map, to see who was out of place. “Who could be more important than Tayra Banks, the fashion icon, the TV host? Please enlighten me’

“I can't tell, miss. I'm just doing my job.” The man replied. Frustrated, I headed to Victoria for a confrontation.

“Victoria, who took the places of Tayra Banks?” I asked. She walked past me, motioning for me to follow her. She shouted orders to random people before devoting some of her time to me.

“Someone more important. Lunch time, please” She said with annoyance, moving her black hair behind her shoulders. Taking a breath, I went in the direction of the nearest sushi restaurant.

I ordered a little of everything, enough to feed an army, and then sat down in a waiting chair. I went on Twitter for a while until they called my name. I paid with the company's credit card and returned to the event.

In less than two hours, people were starting to arrive, eating snacks and drinking champagne, wearing designer clothes from head to toe and judging every detail of their surroundings. I tried to ignore the nervousness in my stomach, placing the food on the table backstage.

Immediately, everyone arrived, ruthlessly throwing themselves on sushi and soy sauce.

“You are animals!” I laughed, walking away with my pieces of sushi on my plate. I found a place to sit and Jace sat down next to me.

“Ym already exhausted.” He complained.

“Me too, Victoria is unbearable today," I said, adjusting her bow tie. “And someone took Tyra Banks's places in the front row.”

“His things. He didn't choose Michelle as the winner of the last season of “America’s Next Top Model, I hate her” He said, shrugging his shoulders.

“Of course,” I replied, laughing. “I'm too excited Jace, really. This is the first show for which we helped organize. That's, like super coolt” Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ (F)indNƟvᴇl.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Definitely fetcht” He replied.

“Stop trying, no one will ever say “fetch’ Jace, it'll never happen!”

We then burst out laughing. Our amusement was brushed aside by Aaron running in our direction, nervously informing u that a light was out of place, and so we were dragged off to work.

After two more horrific hours of Victoria's madness, we were done. Everything was in place, the catwalk ready for the models doing their make-up backstage. I collapsed into a chair backstage, champagne in hand and Jace at my side.

“Are you ready?” He smiled enthusiastically.

I fixed my hair and makeup one last time before standing up, ready to interact with some of the world’s most famous styl icons and influencers. My dream come true.

Holding Jace's arm, we entered the room, stopping first to chat with lesser-known models who often passed through the office. Suddenly, Jace let out an unmanly cry of surprise, pulling me away from him.

“What are you doing?” I asked angrily, adjusting my bracelet, which had been turned when I moved.

He took my glass of champagne and set it on the table, looking at me seriously. I looked at him, confused. “Don’t look no but Henris Steve just arrived with Cara Delevingne on his arm, in an Armani suit that could KILL”

I almost collapsed into Jace's arms.
