A Princess Reborn
Chapter 4

A short while later, Hannah and I navigate our way through clusters of people congregated around the enchanting spectacle of Arkhandra. The air is infused with a heady perfume, and it's as though the very magic surrounding this wondrous sight is tangible.

"Wow, I'm so glad we decided to come."

"Absolutely," I reply.

In quiet reverence, Hannah and I stand, absorbing the moment. The gravity of the scene before us is not lost on me. "I'll cherish this memory forever, just like the Starfall."

"Remember when I mentioned hearing something about Princess Liana?" Hannah's voice breaks the silence beside me.

I turn to her, curious. "What did you hear?"

"I overheard the town elders talking about Arkhandra. You know, when I went to the baker this morning to buy bread. They believe Arkhandra symbolizes Princess Liana and the royal family that passed away."

"It does?"

"Yes, Arkhandra hasn't bloomed since their deaths seventeen years ago, and many consider it a sign."

"A sign of what?"

"The potential return of Princess Liana."

"What?! Do you think that's really possible?"

"I'm a believer in miracles. Are you?"

"Yes, lately life has been filled with so many miracles." My heart takes a sudden plunge as I recall the little lamb. I hadn't considered that innocent creature when I decided to run away.

"What's troubling you, Sarah?"

"Something strange happened this morning. A little lamb wandered into our yard. It acted like a dog-barking, wagging its tail, even snarling at our dogs while sharing their bowls."

"Really? Why do you look so down? That's incredible!"

"Mother believes it's cursed. She beat the poor creature mercilessly, and now it's locked up in the barn. I dread to think what they might do to it."

Hannah's eyes widen in shock. "What's wrong with your mother?"

"I can't stand by while they hurt that lamb, Hannah. I'll never forgive myself if I do. It's the most gentle thing."

Hannah assumes a determined stance, hands on her hips, and a look of defiance on her face. "Take me to the lamb, right now!"

Witnessing her resolute spirit ignites a matching fire within me. "Let's not waste a moment!"
