"Wake up, please! Anna, I need you. Please don't leave me."

I felt Jack's luscious black hair brushing against my hand and I couldn't help but smile.

I peeled my eyes open to see his butt sitting in the chair next to the bed with his entire upper body stretched out in front of him as his head rested on my hand. His fingers were intertwined with mine and his grip was strong but soft.

I watched as he picked up his head, turned over my hand and placed a kiss on the inside of my palm. His face was laced with worry and his cheeks were stained with tears.

I continued staring at his beautiful face with a smile plastered on my lips when he caught my eyes and practically jumped on top of me peppering my face with kisses.

"ANNA! You're awake. Thank goddess you're awake." He sat on the side of the bed and brushed his hand along my cheek.

I scooted over and patted the empty space next to me, gesturing him to lay down.

He gave me a worried look and hesitated momentarily before he pulled the covers away and slowly crept onto the mattress. The bed dipped under his massive weight and I rolled into him causing a giggle to escape my lips.

He gasped and said "Did I hurt you?" As his eyes and hands traveled all over me checking to make sure he didn't cause me any pain.

I placed my hand on his chest and said in a hoarse voice. "I'm ok." My throat was dry and raspy and I placed my hand on it to ease the stinging from swallowing.

"Shhh. Don't talk you have to rest. You've been through a lot."

I nodded my head as grabbed a cup of water and encouraged me to take a sip. The taste made me purr with satisfaction and he smiled as he took the cup from me and placed it back on the bedside table.

"What happened? How long have I been here?" I asked in a whisper, so I wouldn't strain my voice.

I shivered as my mind went back to the look on her face as she jabbed the knife into my stomach. I remember feeling pain and a burning sensation but then I was in Jack's arms and I felt safe but so cold. Then the dream. Oh my goddess, the dream!

"Yes but how did I get here? I remember you picking me up and running somewhere, then my eyes closed and it was dark. Really dark and cold for a while. Then when I opened them, there was this woman standing next to my bed. She was glowing and she told me she was my mom. She was so beautiful and she told me her name was Elizabeth Huntington. She told me that we were made just for each other."

I let the tears fall from my eyes as I remembered her soft voice telling me about Jack and how special he was to me.

"Shhhh Anna. We don't have to talk right now. You've been through so much and you need to take it slow."

He wiped my tears and gave me a kiss on my forehead. I nodded my head and gave him a smile then snuggled into his warm chest. I whimpered a little at the pain coming from my stomach but being next to him eased it better than any drug ever could.

"Are you hurting? Let me call the nurse."

I grabbed his hand before he could hit the call button for the nurse and said "I'm ok. How long have I been here?"

"Just a little over two days. When I brought from the tunnel you had already lost so much blood, so Marina told me to bite your mark. When I did there was this ray of light that beemed down from the sky and entered your body making you glow. Your body immediately warmed up but you were still unconscious so we brought you to the hospital. As soon as we got here, Dr. Brown started working as fast as he could to save you. We almost lost you, Anna." His eyes watered as he rubbed my back and stared at the wall behind me.

"Dr. Brown said the knife was silver but he managed to remove the damaged skin. But while you were in surgery, he said he watched your body start to heal itself. Almost like your injuries never even happened. He said he never would have believed it if he hadn't seen it himself. There is still a small cut but the healing is going way faster than he has ever heard of."

My eyes grew wide when I heard him say that my body practically healed itself. I ran my hand down his cheek and reached up pulling him towards me. His lips were so warm and swollen from crying and his body was tense with worry.

Once our bodies touched we both relaxed as we held each other tight refusing to let go, even when there was a knock at the door.

"Anna?"

My cheeks flushed with embarrassment at the thought of someone seeing us in this intimate way but he never budged, only giving a growl of annoyance.

I chuckled when Val said she was sorry for interrupting but I was so glad to see her.

Jack kissed my cheek and said "I'll give you two some privacy. I love you Anna. I'll be right outside, ok?"

"I love you too!" I squeezed his hand as he got up and gave Val a smile and walked out the room.

"Anna I was so scared you weren't going to make it." She finally let the flood of tears, that were being held back since she came in, flow down her cheeks.

"Val, I'm ok. I'm sorry I made you panic." I said in a strained voice as I sniffled.

"When Jack told me you had gotten in that wreck, I...I didn't know what to do. Then he said you were missing and they made me stay at the pack house for in case you or Connor came back but I didn't want to. I wanted to go look for you." She was sobbing in her hands and her body was shaking from her pain.

"Val, it's ok. I'm ok. Come here." I moved over on the bed for her to lay with me.

She got up and laid besides me as I hugged her and rubbed her back. She was my best friend, my sister and it hurt to see her so worried about me.

"I promise I'm ok, look." I peeled up my gown to reveal a two inch cut that had been sealed together with skin glue. The edges were healing nicely with a pink tint and I'm pretty sure I wasn't going to even have a scar.

She gasped in astonishment.

"H...how? I-it was way bigger than that when you came out of surgery. How did you heal so fast?"

"It could be from Jack saving me or it could be due to my powers. I don't know but I'm sure Marina will know all about it!" I chuckled.

I yawned causing her to yawn and we each closed our eyes. I knew she was exhausted worrying about me but I was just happy to have her here where she knew I was safe.
