Tatianna glanced around the bed chamber desperately trying to find a weapon, anything sharp or that she could swing, but she could find nothing. Her movements were constricted due to the chain on her ankles and the weakness in her body. She couldn’t do a thorough search, but it didn’t matter. They probably already cleaned any potential threats, she deducted. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Can’t have an armed monster, Fredericks’s voice told her. No, to leave a weapon with a monster is begging for death. However true monster’s don’t need a weapon.

The man who tried to burn he alive had been haunting her mind constantly, to the point where she was no longer afraid but annoyed by it. He was the monster not her; he was the one that beat up an eight-year-old girl not her. He required no weapon.

“This is bullshit,” a man said walking angrily into the room that she was isolated in. He had red hair, much like the Queens but it was slightly more brown. He was very lean, but no where near as boney as Tatianna.

“We have already discussed this. I expect you to act like a Prince and do your duty to the crown. What you want is second to what the kingdom needs,” the Queen said walking in behind him. Tatianna could easily see the resemblance between the two, but also noted the voice was the same as the man who came to visit her in the darkness. Perhaps she didn’t hallucinate that conversation, it was real.

Her attention then went to the guards by the Queen’s side, more specifically to the one that bore wings attached to his back. His ears were not pointed, and his physic was strong and stern. She had never seen a Fae before, and it was a spectacular sight. She wondered how he could lift those heavy looking white wings and fly. She wondered what he would feel if she ran her hand along the feathers. Then she realised the people around her were conversing whilst she was yet again lost in her thoughts.

“-will commence on the first day of winter. By that time hopefully the two of you will be well acquainted,” the Queen declared. Tatianna had missed the beginning of her sentence but assumed she was talking about the wedding. Was winter already so close? It made her question how long she had been in captivity.

“Does she have to sleep in my chambers?” the Queens son asked. She didn’t even know his name and she had to share the same living space.

“Yes, she will remain here. Whenever she wishes to go somewhere Tyrion will follow her,” the Queen replied then turned to the Fae guard by her side. “She is not to leave the castle grounds unless I specifically say she can. You will be her voice, whenever someone tries to speak with her.”

“Why are you letting the Coward guard her?” the red-haired male asked with a glare at the fae male. “Isn’t there someone better suited?”

“No one present is a better fighter and we may as well make use of him while he is here,” the Queen replied. “Any questions?”

“Why?” she so desperately wanted to ask. Why are you doing this to me? The words tried to scratch its way up through her throat, but no sound came out of her mouth. She needed water. She needed food.

“Well then I have a guarding to attend,” the queen said then exited the chambers. The red-haired male glared at her for a bit before exiting as well, leaving her alone with Tyrion.

She looked over the Fae. His eyes and hair were brown which was a heavy contrast against his wings. He was handsome, but he wasn’t Nik. He didn’t say anything as he sat down awkwardly on one of the chairs in the chamber, adjusting his wings to fit. As magnificent as they were she wouldn’t want them for herself, they seemed like such a nuisance.

Tatianna had no idea what to do, but she was tired. The overbearing presence of Tyrion made it almost impossible to fall asleep. The bed was comfortable, too comfortable to resist, and she realised that she didn’t care what Tyrion did if she was asleep. Her life was no longer hers so what did it matter if he took it away.
