Adventures Quest
The Inning

Peter and his friends made it to the village that it’s called Loolu village. It was a nice size village that had fauns, centaurs, elves, dwarves, and some other creatures. The look around for any place that has a doctor till Zoey asked a woman with small horns on top of her head with red hair all fuzzed up and has a foxtail that is swishing side to side.

“Hello, can you help us?” Zoey said to the woman as she looked at her.

“What can I help you with?” She asked while Zoey moved to the side while Mike was behind her with Kate in his arms. “Oh, follow me.”

She led the way while Peter and the others followed behind till they got to a small cabin next to the inning. She knocked on the door twice till it opened as an elf stood there.

“Abby, what can I do for you?” The elf asked while whipping his hands on his clothes.

“Jim, these elves need help.” Abby said while moving to the side while Mike was behind her with Kate in his arms.

“Come in,” Jim said as he moved to the side to let Mike in. Mike walked in and Jim looked at the others. “You all stay out here.” With that, he shut the door.

Zozo and Jojo sit down on the ground. Sam pulls out an apple and a knife and starts peeling off the apple. Zoey was sitting on a stump and closed her eyes while mumbling some words like a prayer. As for Peter, he stood there looking at Abby, wondering what she was as he saw no one like her. Abby looks over at Peter and tilts her head.

“You are no elf. What are you?” Abby asked while Peter smiled at her.

“Well, that is right. I am no elf, but a human.” Peter said, as this shocked Abby a bit.

“A human? You’re joking. You must be a god or a shapeshifter.” Abby said with a laugh but stopped once she saw how serious Peter looked. “You’re not joking…well that changes things. Well, my name is Abby and I guess you have never seen others like me before. I am an Oran.” Abby said with a proud look.

“An Oran? What’s that?” Peter asked.

“I can shift into any animal I want, or I can transform into a dragon if I want to.” Abby said as her tail wagged a bit.

“That’s cool!” Peter said as he was excited to see something else instead of fairies, elves, dwarves, trolls and other things he would have seen, but not an Oran. Then he remembers Abby said a shapeshifter and a god. “If I am right, did you say a shapeshifter and a god?”

“Mhm, around these parts there are a lot of shapeshifters but out in the seas are gods and goddesses.” Abby said.

“Then why do you ask if he was a god?” Zozo asked.

“Well, I’m just asking what he was. I know what shapeshifters look like, but I was making sure okay.” Abby said with her arms crossed.

“Wait, what do shapeshifters look like?” Peter asked and Zoey opened her eyes and looked over at Peter.

“A shapeshifter kinda looks like you, but in a child form.” Zoey said, while Abby nodded.

“Yup, but they can transform into anyone that they can see. Like let’s say, they saw me. They can be me but kinda in a child form, but sometimes they can be our height.” Abby said while Peter nodded as he now understands what shapeshifters look like.

The door opened, and Jim stood there while rubbing his hands together while looking at the group. Zozo and Jojo stood up while dusting their pants while Sam put his knife away, held the half eaten apple in his hand, and Zoey stood up and looked at Jim.

“How is Kate?” Peter asked as he walked up to Jim.

“She is alright, lost some blood in her head, but she will be fine.” Jim told them as they all sighed in relief. “She needs to be in bed for tonight and by morning, hopefully, she can be on her way.”

“Thank you, Jim, for everything. We will pay you.” Mike said while Jim waved his head.

“No payment, all I care about is that all of you, including your friend, are safe and healthy. I really don’t take payments.” Jim told them while Mike nodded.

“Well, we better go into an inning to stay for the night.” Sam said as the others agreed, but Mike stayed with Kate.

They say their thanks to Jim before heading off to an inning that is not too far from where Jim’s place is at. Abby followed them as she wanted to help them as much as she could around these parts. They reached the inning and walked in as there were elves talking and playing music while dwarves drinking pint and eating what’s been served from the inning owner that is a very round dwarf with a red beard and his long hair in a high ponytail with braids on the side. The owner looked over at the door and smiled as his black eyes twinkle with glee.

“Welcome travels! Please come in and make yourself at home.” The dwarf said with his arms crossed. “My name is Ben. If you need anything, you can call out my name and I will be there for you.”

“So we rest for tonight and in the morning we make sure Kate is alright to leave then we leave.” Jojo said as Zozo nodded her eyes as she agreed with her sister.

“But what happens? She can’t go, like, overnight. Something may happen overnight and she can’t leave the bed,” Zoey said. “Also, if Kate is staying behind, Mike would stay behind as well. I can see those two are close.”

“Zoey is right. If Kate can’t come, then Mike stays behind. So we might go down two people with our quest,” Sam said as Peter sighed.

“We will worry about that in the morning. For now, let’s get some good rest and in the morning we will see if Kate is fit to continue on with the quest with us.” Peter said, as the others agreed.

Night came as Sam, Zoey, Jojo, and Zozo were in their rooms sleeping while Peter was up and sitting on the roof of the inning looking up at the starry night sky thinking about the quest. With a sigh, he looks at a star that is glowing the brightest by the moon. He claps his hands together and looks down.

“I don’t know if this will work but Raine…if you could hear me, I need help. Kate got hit in the head pretty good and I know Mike won’t go anywhere without Kate, so…is there anyone else to join the group? I mean, I know I have Sam and the other two dwarves and Zoey, but I don’t think five people will do this quest. I’ve been thinking about the quest and we need more people on this quest, just in case we run into a group of trolls or orcs or even goblins. So, could you come here and join us on this quest?” Peter said while looking up at the dark sky while looking at each star. (Little did he know Abby was listening to him from below) “Well, it’s a try, I guess.”

Peter stayed there for a bit before heading down from the roof and to his room. When he got to his room, he got into bed and fell asleep. Abby peeks from the window looking at Peter before pulling away and jumping down while transforming into a deer and galloping off in the village to a hut where smoke was coming from and transforming into herself again and walking inside where an elf with short dark brown hair and green eyes looking at the fire.

“You’re late for coming home.” The elf said as she smiled.

“I know, but you won’t guess what I ran into today. That human tail that is going around. He’s here and I think he will look for two new recruits for his quest.” Abby said as the elf turned around and smiled a little.

“That’s great! Because his destiny has called upon me.” He said with a globe in his hands that there are space planets in the globe with a light hue of white around the globe.
