Chapter 17 Marry Raynard?

Thinking of the damaged video, Darron looked at Raynard with doubt. “Could Ms. Maynard be on her side?”

After all, the video was damaged that night. And Gwyneth watched the security video!

It was doubtful.

Hearing Darron’s question, Raynard sneered, “She’s not brave enough.”

Darron nodded in agreement.

Gwyneth was even afraid of Raynard when seeing him. Raynard’s stepmother was sharp and shrew. She wouldn’t choose such an unreliable woman.

“I’ll talk to her.”

“Keep it a secret at the company!”

Darron nodded. “Got it!”

After all, it was a makeshift. Of course, it should be low-key.

If people knew it, Raynard wouldn’t be affected after the marriage was over. But probably no one would marry Gwyneth.

So Darron had a better impression of his boss.

Although Raynard made use of Gwyneth temporarily, he looked out for her.

Gwyneth finally recovered from the shock and returned to her desk. Then Darron came. “Come to my office!”

“OK, Mr. Conner!”

Gwyneth felt that she would be blamed again. But she didn’t mean to.

After all, their talk was shocking.

She entered his office and stood at the door. “Mr. Conner.”

“Close the door,” said Darron in a deep voice.

Gwyneth nodded, closed the door, moved forward, and waited for Darron’s speaking.

He signaled her to sit down. Just as she sat down, she heard Darron say, “Bring your ID tomorrow and marry Mr. Fletcher!” Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the (ꜰind)ɴʘvel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Silence fell.

Gwyneth held her breath, and then she choked again. “Kaff, kaff…”

She finally recovered, but now, she coughed again.

Seeing how hard it was for Gwyneth to control herself, Darron frowned subconsciously, wondering if Raynard made the right choice.

But since Gwyneth was careless, she could be a good choice.

Gwyneth blushed again and stood up. “Sorry!”

She ran out of the office again!

The office was just oppressive before. But now…

She felt so hard to stay calm!

Darron was speechless.

It seemed that she still needed to learn how to control her emotions.

Gwyneth coughed so hard and almost vomited in the break room. Her throat hurt.

That was…

Gwyneth couldn’t find a word to describe what had happened today.

She thought she might have made a mistake. Darron had been serious. How would he say that?

It must be…

After a while, Gwyneth finally cooled down and left the break room. She saw Darron’s assistant waiting for her at her desk.

Seeing her, the assistant said, “Mr. Conner asked you to go to Mr. Fletcher’s office.”

So it was not a mistake?

The two serious men made a ridiculous request.

Gwyneth wanted to text and call Janine.

But under the assistant’s guidance, she had to walk to the president’s office.

When she opened the door, Raynard and Darron’s conversation ended. They looked at Gwyneth.

Gwyneth felt nervous as they looked at them.

She clenched her fists with her hands down. She tried to be respectful. “Mr. Fletcher, Mr. Fletcher!”

Raynard put the cigarette out in the ashtray and said to Gwyneth, “Darron told you everything?”

“W-what?” Gwyneth stammered.

She could not face their request.

Raynard frowned with displeasure. Darron said, “You’ll get married tomorrow!”

“No!”

Gwyneth blurted out in fear and shock.

The atmosphere became more oppressive because of her decline.

Raynard squinted at Gwyneth with a cold tone. “You’re not OK with it?”

Gwyneth lowered her head nervously. “Marriage is not for fun.”

How could she get married like this?

Her grandmother told her to marry a good-tempered man before her death. Looks didn’t matter. But her husband must love her.

Raynard didn’t meet the standard. And they were so different! It wouldn’t work out!

Darron gasped and wondered if Gwyneth was crazy. He thought, “Does she think it’s a serious marriage?”

Seeing Raynard’s darker face, Darron hurried to say, “I didn’t explain it to her.”

“Come with me!”

It was necessary to explain everything to Gwyneth.

Darron had never worked with such an assistant before.

Gwyneth looked at him, nodded, and followed him out.

Before they left, Raynard said, “Get married or leave Harbor City. Choose one!”

Gwyneth froze!

She held her breath.

She looked at Darron pitifully. Darron realized that Raynard was mad.

Although their marriage was fake, so many women wanted to marry him in this city.

No one said no to Raynard before…

Seeing her pitiful eyes, Darron looked away helplessly.

“I’ll talk to her.” Darron bit the bullet.

In fact, no matter what, Gwyneth only had two choices.

They left the office and went to Darron’s office.

“Mr. Conner, I…”

She didn’t know what to say.

She felt that her mind always went blank after the night spent with Raynard. Now, she was so distracted.

Darron raised the glass in front of him and glanced at her. “It’s just a fake marriage with an agreement.”

“Agreement?”

Gwyneth was puzzled.

Darron nodded. “From now on, you need to tell people that you were in his room that night once the Fletcher family asked about that night!”

Gwyneth was speechless.

She stared at him in confusion.

Darron looked at her shocked face and continued, “You didn’t see that woman?”

“No!” Gwyneth recovered from the shock and shook her head.

She felt so frightened.

Fear engulfed her!

Darron nodded. “It’s OK. Now, you are that woman.”

“But I am not!”? Gwyneth almost cried.

She wouldn’t admit it!

Darron’s eyes turned cold. “Yes, you are!”

He was firm and gloomy.

Before she shook her head, Darron continued, “Just say yes no matter who asks so.”

“Why?”

“It’s your job now!”

Wasn’t she an assistant? Now her job was Raynard’s wife?
