Chapter 8 Hush Money?
Darron didn’t know why Raynard would keep Gwyneth by his side. Could it that be Gwyneth was afraid of him and never pestered him?
Darron felt it possible.
Gwyneth looked back nervously. “I-I dropped something. I think I should take the normal elevator.”
After lying, Gwyneth wanted to go.
“Just come in!” Raynard said.
Gwyneth was speechless.
Since Raynard said so, she didn’t dare to say no. She had to enter nervously.
The elevator went upwards. Gwyneth stood by Raynard’s left side. Her back was against the elevator. She tried not to attract his attention.
Raynard looked at her with a frown. “Go get the financial reports from the accounting.”
Gwyneth stood straight. “OK.”
Gwyneth ran out as soon as the elevator reached the floor where the Accounting Department.
Raynard was speechless.
So was Darron.
After the door was closed, Raynard’s cold eyes shone.

And Darron felt that Gwyneth must be good at running.
Gwyneth stood in the corridor outside the Gwyneth. It took her a long time to cool down.
She regretted breaking the rules. She didn’t dare to take Raynard’s elevator again.
After going upstairs with the reports, she had cooled down. But when she was going to Raynard’s office, Darron stopped her.
“Ms. Maynard, I have some questions for you. Come to my office.”
“But Mr. Fletcher asked me…”
“He’s in a meeting,” Darron interrupted her.
Gwyneth glanced at Raynard’s office and nodded at Darron. She followed him.
After she entered his office, Darron said, “Close the door.”
“OK.”
Gwyneth closed the door and walked to the desk.
Darron made a gesture to ask her to sit down. Gwyneth nodded and sat down.
Gwyneth asked, “What can I do for you?”
Darron didn’t answer but lit up a cigarette. He looked aloof and noble.
When she came to the company, she felt that Darron was more like a rich man instead of a white collar.
Now, she had a stronger feeling in this way.
Darron smoked and asked, “Mr. Fletcher said you checked the security video for what happened in the Ice Hotel. Is that right?”
Gwyneth was startled.
His sudden question frightened her so much that her hands shook and then the file dropped down from her hands.
She just cooled down outside the Accounting Department. But now, her heart started beating wildly again.
She picked up the documents in panic.
Darron looked at her panicked face and frowned!
Gwyneth picked up the file and nodded. “Yes. He wants to find a woman. So I checked it out.”
“No one went to his room?”
“No!” She nodded firmly.
However, she had no idea how pale her face was. Her heart skipped a beat.
Darron looked at her with sharp eyes.
Seeing his sharp eyes, she panicked more. But she thought about her and Janine’s situation.
She had to stay firm. “Yes. I watched the whole video.”
“Really?”
His tone was doubtful.
He withdrew his gaze and looked at the cigarette butt. “Weird. There was a woman in his room that night.”
Gwyneth held her breath.
Her face turned paler.
She wanted to leave now. But Darron continued, “What did you do after that?”
“Nothing. I left after watching the video.”
Darron looked at her with sharper eyes.
Stared at by him, Gwyneth felt guilty.
She and Janine not only watched the video but also eliminated the video.
Janine even gave the security 1,600 dollars as hush money.
