Chapter 48

Alexa’s POV

Julian called and said they had been attacked and lost wolves and Robert was the one to attack. I was ready to kill him. He had to be stopped and I would be the one to take him down.

“Colter when will your tech guy be here, the council is supposed to be here in fifteen minutes.”

“Calm down, princess. He should be here any minute”

He led me over to the table and pulled me down into his lap. I leaned my head on his neck and took deep breaths, trying to inhale as much of his scent as I could. It was working because I felt my heart slow some and I relaxed a little bit.

The door finally opened and some guy walked in. He sure didn't it the typically nerdy IT type. He was large and full of muscles and tattoos.

“Hello Alpha, Luna"

“Hey Ab. Want to show us what you've found.”

“Ya. So I was able to break into his laptop pretty easily. I found some type of program that listed names and pictures of people with random dates. I ran what I found against our registry for missing wolves and some of them were a match. I believe some of the people on here are humans as well”

I could feel Storm pushing forward. She was pissed. I closed my eyes and took a few calming breaths and tried to push her back. I was losing this battle.

“What else is there?” I demanded, or rather Storm did.

“Well, there's another program but I can’t seem to infiltrate it. I don’t know what it is, but I think it will have more answers fo us”

I got up and walked over to the wall where Storm punched a hole in the wall. It didn't take long for Colter to come over and wrap his arms around me.

“Storm, I know it's you right now. We need to be calm about this. I promise you we will find him.”

turned to face him and he had a smile on his face for us.

“I will give Alexa back control only if you promise I can kill him."

“I promise Storm that I will let you kill him when we find him."

She leaned in and kissed me and when she pulled away I was looking into Alexa's eyes.

“Sorry, she got mad. I couldn't stop her.”

“It's OK Princess. Let's go sit. The council is coming. My receptionist just linked me"

As soon as he said, the six council members we have been dealing with walked in.

After our formalities, we filled them in on everything we knew. They sat their mind linking with each other.

“We would like for you to come to our training grounds and work with a highly skilled team. You will still run this but we war to offer you, people, help.”

“We will, but please just send us a team as Alpha Julian's pack was attacked yesterday by Robert and we will be headed there. In fact, just send your team there," I said.

“We can arrange that but we would like to take the laptop with us to have our IT people look at it.”

“No, you can send them to us with your team,” I told them.

“'m sure we can arrange that. Please make Alpha Julian aware we will be sending about fifteen wolves your way."

Ijust nodded my head at them and we all sat there in silence for a few minutes before they got up. They started to head out when one stopped and said “They will arrive in two days’ time."

“Thank you, I said to them and they left.

I let out a big breath. It was a lot to take in.

“Lex, we will find him and I will kill him." Storm linked me.

“Yes, we will" Jade added.

“When do we leave? I would love a run with our mate,” Storm said.

“Colter, when do we leave?” I asked him.

“I would like to be on the road in two hours”

“Can we fit a quick run in? Storm would love it”

“Anything for my princesses, plus Grey wants to meet his other mate.”

“Let's go," I said as I grabbed his hand and practically ran outside.

As s00n as we were at the tree line, I stripped and called Storm forward. It didn't take her long to take over and shift. We spun on our hind legs and saw Colter standing there. He hadn't shifted yet.

He walked over and started to run his hands through our fur. It felt amazing. Storm nudged him to go and shift. He finally shifted and Grey stepped forward and ran his snout against our neck.

Storm nipped at him and took off running. He quickly followed but stayed behind, letting her lead the way.

“I am going to mate with Grey just a forewarning.”

I quickly put up a block. I didn’t need to see that.

“Jade, are you OK?"

“Of course I'm OK, why wouldn't I be?”

“Well, with Storm here now. She seems to take over a little more and I feel like you get left out”

“She has always been here with us. You just didn't know it. She is one of my best friends. She just had to wait for her time to push forward.”

“I've always had her. It doesn't make sense”

“This is your destiny and we both knew a time would come when she was needed. She just laid low until then”

“Real fucking low because I didn’t know.”

“Don’t be mad. She couldn't, the moon goddess made her. She wanted to be sure of things. If she wasn't needed, then she wouldn't have appeared. If you haven't noticed, she is a little bloodthirsty.”

“Ya have. Just know I love you too and you will get equal time with Grey."

“I know love”

I could feel Storm pushing on the block so I dropped it.

“We're done and ready for you to shift back”

I took back control and so did Colter. He walked over to me with a huge smile on his face.

“What are you so happy about?” I asked him.

“Our wolves are a wild bunch”

“You watched them?”

“Yes, he watches us and so I can only return the favor.”

“You weirdo.”

“Whatever we critique each other and I promise that Storm is very happy right now.”

“Oh my god, I am done with this conversation,” I told him as I walked away.

He ran up behind me and quickly spun me around and threw me over his shoulder.

“Argh, Colter, what are you doing?”

“Taking you up to our room.”

“We don't have time for this. We have to pack”

“We can make time” He said as he smacked me on the a*s.

“Negative. We need to get there. It's a long drive.”

He finally set me down but had a pout on his face. I took off running to the pack yelling “beat you there”

He quickly caught me and I pushed myself to go harder, but he kept up with me. We made it to the back door and were fighting to get in first when I may have thrown an elbow in his side which may have slowed him down for a second, which gave me the upper hand and I got in first.

“You're a cheater my Luna.”

“I don't know what you're talking about” I told him with the cheesiest grin on my face.

We made it up to our room and after having to turn Colter down despite his best efforts to get me naked. We finally got packed.

Someone started knocking on the door and Colter yelled at them to come in.

“Hey, guys. What's up?” Mac asked.

Before we could answer, another knock came, and again Colter told them to come in.

“Hey, girl. I am going to miss you while you're gone,” Sloane said as she and Liam came in.

“OK, now that everyone is here. Alexa and I have to leave for a bit and you guys are in charge. Can you guys manage that and getalong?”

“Yes, sir” they said in unison.

“If there are any attacks, let me know immediately I want extra patrols right now. I want everyone warned about Robert. He attacked Alpha Julian's pack last night and there were some that lost their lives.

“Yes sir” They said again in unison.

I grabbed Sloane's hand and walked away from the guys so we could talk.

“Please be careful. If he finds you guys here I can't imagine what he will do."

“Girl, we are always careful and, besides, Liam doesn't let me out of his sight and if I am, he has someone guarding me all the time. It is overly paranoid about this baby."

I rubbed her belly and I could feel the littlest bump there.

“Don’t cause any problems for your mom while I am gone," told her belly.

“You know that things isn't very big yet and can't understand you.”

“I will make sure that its first words are Lex. Don’t you worry."

We both started laughing because she knew I would try my hardest.

“When are you going to have one?” She asked me.

“Not for a while. I am not ready and besides the whole Robert thing, we just met and marked each other. We're still getting t know each other. I want to be just us for a while.”

“I understand that” She said as she wrapped her arms around me and pulled me into a hug.

“Lex, please be safe. I can't lose you again.’

“Always. We will be back before you know it and he will be dead.”

“Alright, girls, we need to go," Colter said as he was picking up our bags.

Liam and Mac helped us with our bags as we went down to the cars. We got to the car and loaded the bags. I wrapped my arms around Sloane again and kissed her cheek.

“Later sweets,” I told her and got in the car.

Colter got in the driver's seat and started the car and back out of the garage. We got out of the driveway and out on the roac We had about a five-hour drive.

“Colter, I need to talk to you."

“What's up Princess?" He said as he grabbed my hand.

“I need to have a private conversation, Julian, when we get there.”

“NOI” He growled back at me.

He just let out a low growl and didn't respond. I knew mates could be jealous but he needed to chill out. Julian was a close friend of his and was mine as well and I would like that friendship back.

“Lex, he knows that you two had a sexual relationship and he's an Alpha, so their jealousy is more than if you were mated to someone of a lower rank. How would you feel if he wanted to have a private conversation with Lauren?” Jade linked me.

“That is different, she attacked me, she threatened me and we were friends, to begin with." I linked back.

“But you still had a sexual relationship with him,” Storm said this time.

“Are you two saying I am wrong?”

“YES!” They both yelled in my head at the same time.

“Well, I don't think so. He literally saved my life. He saved our lives and you both know it”

That shut them both up. Sometimes, having two wolves was annoying. They both had an opinion and were not shy about sharing it with me.

Iturned my back to Cotler and laid back in my seat a little. I could feel his anger coming off him. I am having a hard time understanding why he was mad about one conversation. It was him I chose, it is him I love and I would never do anything that would put that in jeopardy.

I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew Colter was shaking me awake.

“Alexa, wake up, we're here."

He was still mad at me. He got out of the car and got our bags out. I got out and stretched my body out. Before we could get to the front of the car, Julian was standing on the porch holding hands with a girl. She looked familiar but I wasn't sure wher I knew her from.

“Thanks for coming you guys. Why don't we go in and have some dinner? I will have someone take your bags to your room.” We walked in and not saying a word to anyone. He led us to the dining hall and we all sat down and some Omega’s hurried over with plates of food.

“Julian, who is your friend?” Colter asked him.

“Oh, sorry. This is Nicki, she is my girlfriend” He said with a big smile on his face.

“Nicki, you look so familiar. Do I know you from somewhere?”

“I was a member of the Silver Moon Pack, until I moved here.”

I racked my brain for her but, came up empty.

“How old are you?"

“25”

So she was my brother's age, maybe she hung around him.

“Did you hang around my brother? Alpha Ryan?”

You could literally see her recoil and move into Julian. He wrapped an arm around her and leaned in and whispered something to her. She got tears in her eyes but shook her head yes.

“There is something that you need to know about Nicki. Alexa, what your father did to your mate by killing him? Well, that wasn't the only time he had done something like that. Nicki was your brother's mate but your father put a stop to that."

I could feel Storm pushing forward. Anytime I was extremely mad she pushed forward and I knew my father had made him reject his mate, but I figured he killed her as he did mine. I closed my eyes trying to push Storm back but she didn't relent. I took a deep breath and opened my eyes and looked up at her.

“Nicki, I am sorry what happened to you. I want you to know that Ryan is dead and Robert is not my father. I will kill as well” Storm said.

“Alexa, what is going on with you? I have never seen your eyes like that” Julian said.

“I am her wolf Storm.”

I was pushing to get control from Storm. Colter was still sitting there, not happy with me. He has yet to really talk to me. She finally relented and gave me back control and my eyes went back to their normal color.

“Alexa, I thought your wolf was Jade and I know that is not what her eyes look like.”

“Ya, so surprise I have two wolves."

He literally choked on the food in his mouth.
