Daciana froze on hearing the question Alpha Connor asked her. She was surprised and confused at the same time. Surprisec that he knew about her father and confused because she haven't thought about ever looking for her father.

Her father was the one who left, he left both her and her mother here and left to the human world where she doesn't know. He didn’t come back, not even to check up on his daughter and mate just once, he left like they meant nothing to him so wh will she look for that kind of a father?

He has probably forgotten about her, that he has a daughter who has been waiting for his return all her life but it seems he doesn't want to see her as much as she does.

Although, she will be grateful and happy to see her father again after countless years but is it worth it? Does he want to see her? Daciana already concluded it within herself that she wasn't loved by him, will that happen now if she finds him?

She turned around to face Alpha Connor whose gaze was stopped dead on her, watching her every reaction. Alpha Connor has his way of doing things, he probably got some people to do a background check on her hence, she did not remember having a conversation with him about her family.

She never told anyone about her family. Both she and the Alpha king are not that close enough for her to tell him such things. Whatever way he found out, she isn't going to get him involved in her family problems or maybe because she is not sure about how she will feel seeing her father.

She grasp her hands together and bowed her head, not before shaking it vigorously.

“No” she blurted. Alpha Connor stared at her in confusion. No? What does that mean? Does she not want to see her father o she doesn’t want to talk about it?

“Thank you my king but I don't want you to look for him, I am sorry” she apologized for nothing. Alpha Connor got a hint, he understood better not to press further. Maybe as time goes on, she will be more comfortable with him to tell her everything, If it wasn't for the effect of the herb, he wouldn't have gotten to know that she is not an omega and her father abandoned her. The fact that her mother was an omega doesn't mean she is. Alpha Connor tried to solve the puzzle since that day but h still can’t wrap his head around it.

Why did her father left? There must be a reason for him to have left just like that without considering his immediate family, those that he is supposed to love and cherish.

Now that he is thinking about it, Alpha Connor wants to look for him even without letting Daciana know about it. He wants t know the reason why a father will leave his own child and mate.

Alpha Connor sighed, he stood up from the bed and walked up to Daciana who was still standing there on her tracks as if sh is waiting for a decree from him. He pulled her into a comforting hug while stimly rubbing her back.

“I shouldn't have brought it up, I am sorry” he apologized. Instead of this sad and far-away look on her face, he will choose to be seeing her red cheeks all the time. He doesn't want to see her this way and most importantly, be the reason for her sadness anymore.

As Daciana was about refuting what he just said, they both heard movements in the sitting room, it is no news that it will be the maids. His hands sulkily falled to his sides and he pushed her towards the closet.

“Go dress up” he ordered. The maids might be females but he doesn't want anyone to see his mate in just a towel. The gender doesn't matter to him, Daciana is just his, his to see her bare, just his and no one else should see her that way. Knowing that Alpha Connor is in the room, the maids intermitted on the door awaiting his order. They were there until he asked them to come into his room.

Once inside, they bowed their heads. None of them dared to look the Alpha king in the eyes. First, because it is punishable and secondly, Alpha Connor's gaze is chilly. No one will want to meet him s gaze.

“The cleaners can hold on for a while until I call for them, I do not want anyone knocking on my door. I need some privacy” he apprised.

“Yes Alpha king” they replied in unison and skittered away in the next minute after dropping the meals they brought. Daciana came out of the closet dressed elegantly in the red gown. It fitted perfectly on her body, it also brought out her beauty. Maybe she has been like this but the moment Alpha Connor sighted her, her skin was oddly radiating. He smiled brightly at her and met her halfway to the bed then, he grabbed her wrist, walking her to the bed. He sat her down, bent to her height and tied her hair.

“Once we are done eating, I will let it down” He assured while Daciana nodded her head.

She stared down at the food and glanced up at Alpha Connor who sat opposite her on the bed. Seeing them about to eat together again brought back memories of yesterday morning when he gave her his blood. The look in his eyes never left her memory, no matter how she tried to get rid of it.

She saw fear, worry, concern and guilt or were they different emotions? Do they have different meanings from what she thought? Whatever it was, it made her relaxed for some certain period of time. She felt safe with him and she trusted him at that moment.

Daciana got startled when she felt something poke her cheek.

“Did I scare you?" Alpha Connor asked staring into her eyes and she quickly shook her head.

“You are not eating, what are you thinking about? Or do you want me to feed you?” He teased.

Daciana’s hands cursorily flew to her mouth as she kept shaking her head in disapproval which made the Alpha king burst out laughing.

“You are cute” he complemented, still laughing at her. His laughter only made her fluster but she couldn't help but smile seeing him laugh this hard. This is probably the first time she is seeing him laughing genuinely.

Daciana bent her head, she picked up the food and began eating unhurriedly.

After that, they began eating in a comfortable silence with none of them saying anything to the other until they were done. “I will be going out later in the day, will you accompany me somewhere?" He asked.

Daciana looked up at him, he wants to go somewhere with her? Why all of a sudden? Where did he want her to accompany him to? She quickly got rid of the questions as it was covered up with excitement. It will be nice going out with the Alpha king.

Daciana have always dreamt about walking around with Alpha Connor just like Dolphus. It might sound stupid but she sometimes gets jealous of Dolphus. Dolphus has the attention of the Alpha king all the time, they go everywhere and anywhere together.

She wished it could be her even when she doesn't know where they were going to or why they go out together all the time. Even for once, she wanted to experience it.

Before she met Kaira, she also envied the relationship the two male has. To people, Dolphus is just a beta, the second in command to the Alpha king and the Alpha king's loyal subject but Daciana feels like Dolphus means more than that to the Alpha king.

She wonders why they are so close even when they both are different.

“Daciana?” Alpha Connor snapped his fingers in front of her to get her attention. She bit her lower lip and sighed. She is use to pacing out while talking with people, Daciana doesn't know if that is a bad habit.

“Zoned out” Alpha Connor cuts in while she played with the hem of her dress.

“You shouldn't be apologizing to me for every little thing and it's also okay if you don't want to go with me, I will respect you decision” he added hoping that she wouldn't say no.

“Not I want to go with you, my king” she replied waving her hands in the air with her eyes almost bulging out. Even if she doesn’t want to, she can’t say no to the Alpha king. Not for any reason.

“My king!” Alpha Connor repeated as his smile widened. He doesn't know why, but he loves it whenever she calls him that. “I love it when you call me your king, please ever don't stop” he said standing up on his feet, walking towards Daciana. He pulled her from the bed with one grasp on her wrist and the next seconds, she was flushed against his wall-like chest. He pressed her against him by grabbing her waist.

Alpha Connor stared intently at her without blinking his eyes, he forced her to look at him by using his other hand to suppor her chin, after letting her hair on her shoulders.

“I can't get enough of you Daciana, what are you doing to me?” He asked hoarsely as he drops his hand from her chin. He grabbed her hand and placed it on his chest.

“Whenever you are close to me or whenever I think about you, my heart beats like it will pop out through my mouth” Daciana glanced at him then at her hand on his pounding chest. She opened and closed her mouth infinitely without knowing what to say back to him. She suddenly felt woozy like she will drop dead on the floor if the Alpha king is not holdin her in proximity.

If only he knows what this closeness is doing to her, if only he knows how addictive she is to him.

Alpha Connor pressed her more closer until there was no space left between them.

“I want you Daciana. You are my mate still, I want to claim you mine. I want you to have my mark on you everywhere you go” Alpha Connor said with a pause as he dredge her eyes for a possible reaction.

“Can I mark you?"
