Alpha Bond
Chapter 8

Ella’s POV

Raising my hands above my head, I stretch while turning on my side. The discomfort on my side instantly brings back the memory of everything.

My wound must have almost healed by now, but there is a slight ache when I put some pressure on my side. In an hour or two, I think, the wound will be completely healed.

I feel relieved when I feel the presence of my wolf and sense her soundly sleeping. My wolf is not a morning wolf. She hates when somebody disturbs her sleep, so I don’t wake her up. Even I don't like waking up early, but sometimes I do have to wake up early.

The feel of a soft velvety sheet beneath my hand causes me to open my eyes because I don’t recall falling asleep on a bed.

Startling, I look around to find myself sitting on a king-size bed. The room in which I am is huge and screams luxury.

The walls are white, while the furniture is a combination of grey and white. A grey color tufted headrest is nearly covering half of the wall behind me.

Nice, I always wanted to have these fancy headrest but mom says it will be pain in the ass to clean them so I dropped the idea.

Picking up the covers, I sniff, trying to find if I was alone in this bed. The bed covers mostly smell of my scent. However, there is an extremely faint scent of someone else too. Surprisingly, that scent reminds me of home.

Whose room is this?

Removing the covers off me, I place my feet on the ground. I was not surprised to find a soft thick carpet underneath my feet. It is so soft that it feels like I am walking on fur.

Normally, if there was anyone other than me, then they would have been freaking out. But that’s not me. Well, when you are perfectly capable of killing without blinking an eye, then I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Looking down at my clothes, I frown because these are not the clothes I was wearing. Anger brews inside me, realizing somebody has touched me without my permission.

There is something strange about myself that I have just noticed. There is frustration inside me. Usually, I don’t lose my cool often; however, it feels like I will burn this whole place if someone even dares to say a wrong word to me.

There is a knock on the door, and a moment later, it opens, revealing a woman who looks extremely familiar, but this doesn’t stop me from being cautious.

“Who are you? And where am I?” I glare at her.

“Madam, you are in Lord Emerson's chamber.” She bows her head respectfully, “I am Emelia, and I am grateful to you for finding my daughter.”

Lord? What the fuck! Don’t tell me some crazy psychotic so-called Lord has kept me in his house. If I met another crackpot, I would surely let Blaze shred them apart and enjoy them as her meal.

However, something she has said gets my attention.

“Daughter?” I question, then the realization hits Tammy is your daughter. How is she? She isn’t hurt, right?”

“She is unharmed and perfectly fine.” She smiles, looking grateful, “All thanks to you, I have got my daughter back. She has told me how you took care of her. I can never repay your debt.” Tears brim in her eyes as she shakes her head.

Walking to her, I wrap my arms around her, trying to comfort her while my anger simmers down a bit. I know she must have thought she had lost her daughter forever, and all the worst things must have been going through her mind.

I release her and smile at her when she calms down.

“I brought some clothes for you since you don’t have any.” She walks inside the room and places some bags on the bed. “There are all the necessary items that you might need.”

“Emelia, can you please tell me who brought me here and why I am here?” I ask her, this time in a softer tone.

“Lord Emerson brought you here, and I volunteer to look after you since you were injured. I don't know why you have been kept here, but I am honored to meet you.” She claps her hands in front of her, “I changed your clothes, and a healer checked up on your wounds.”

“Lord Emerson?” I frown, not recalling someone of this name or title.

“He will meet you in a while.” She answers and then leaves the room before I can ask her anything else about this mysterious guy.

Who is Lord Emerson?

Abruptly, yellow eyes flash in my mind as I remember that fierce brown wolf.

After removing the bandage, I checked my wound. It is fully healed, but there is an ugly pink scar.

Placing my hand over the scar, I try to heal it, but it remains the same because still, I haven't recovered fully from using so much power.

If mom had been here she should have immediately healed it. The thought of mom makes me realize how much I miss her and everyone at home.

I don’t know where I am or why I am being kept here. But whatever it is, I need to go back home.

Changing into jeans and a plaid flannel shirt, I tie my hair in a french braid. There were some dresses too, but I want to wear something comfortable in case I have to fight.

These clothes are casual and will not hinder my movements. Although I haven’t sensed that I am in any danger until now, this doesn’t mean I will not let my guards down. I am prepared for everything and anything.

Even though Emelia brought me a breakfast, I chose not to eat it because I don’t trust anyone. I can sense she means so harm, but I can’t say about the people she is working for. Maybe somebody is using her unknowingly.

I felt terrible seeing her sad face when I turned down the food, so I quickly covered it up by saying I was nauseated.

There are many questions in my mind, but the most important question is where are rest of the people who were with me are.

Emelia didn’t tell me anything about them. All she knows is that everyone was brought here. Wherever this here is.

She is really cautious when she talks. Something tells me she is not allowed to say much. So if she is not allowed to tell me anything, then I know the right person who can inform me everything which I need to find out.

Tammy.

I asked Emelia to bring Tammy with her when next time she visits me. Thankfully, she happily agreed and told me that even Tammy was demanding to meet me.

There is a knock on the door. At first, I thought it’s Emelia. But after a moment, when the door opens, I find an unfamiliar face standing in front of the door.

“Superior has ordered you to meet him.” The man, who looks like a mountain, states gruffly.

If I had never seen my dad’s furious side, I would have thought this Mountain of muscles was intimidating. But then, nothing really scares me.

However, my eyebrows shoot in surprise when I hear the word ordered. While I can feel Blaze’s low growls in my mind, the anger I feel since I have woken up sparks again.

If I were not curious, I would have asked him to tell his superior to shove his order into his ass. Because if there is one that everyone needs to know about me, my wolf nor I liked being ordered.

“You mean to say Emerson requested me to meet him?” Crossing my arms, I emphasize the word requested, trying to keep my cool.

“It is Lord Emerson, and no, he is not the Superior, but he will be there.” He glares at me.

“Okay, then, let’s go and meet Emerson and your superior.” Ignoring his glare, I step outside the room as he walks closely beside me but smart enough to walk slightly behind me.
