Chapter 86

**Nora POV

I was warm and comfortable as consciousness started to tug at my mind. I didn’t want to wake up. I was still so tired.

It felt like I was tired all the time lately. It’s not as though I was working too hard. I wasn’t sure why I was so exhausted.

Blake and I had gone to bed around the same time last night, and I had taken advantage by snuggling close to him.

The nights were getting colder, and it was wonderful to share b*dy heat and fall asleep feeling warm and safe. I felt the same way now, and I didn’t want the feeling to fade away.

I snuggled into my pillow in an attempt to keep the warmth from fading. When I did, I felt the weight of Blake’s arm shifted on my waist. My heartbeat jumped as I realized

that he was still in bed with me. It had been far too long since I’d woken up with him beside me.

I pressed my b*dy back gently and felt him respond to the movement.

He tightened his hold on me and pressed himself into my back.

I couldn’t restrain a contented sigh. This was everything that I had been missing when Blake snuck out of bed in the morning. The simple intimacy of being held was something that I had taken for granted before this mess with his uncle started.

“This is indulgent,”I muttered.

I didn’t want to think about how badly things might turn out for us in the future, but the reality was that the situation we found ourselves in was potentially

If the worst happened, at least we would have this.

Blake made a thoughtful sound that pulled me from my dark thoughts and his fingers stilled.

“Hmmm?”I hummed curiously.

His fingers brushed over a spot on my right hip. I glanced down and looked at the spot he was indicating. There was a small discolored sport that was shaped a bit like a butterfly.

“Oh?”I asked.

Blake clicked his tongue.“It’s proof that we haven’t had enough time together,”he stated.“There shouldn’t be an inch of you that I don’t have memorized.”

I felt the blood rush to my face and turned away from Blake’s intense

eyes. I had been longing for his attention, but I had forgotten how overwhelming it could be.

He climbed over me and gently pulled my hand away.“Don’t hide from me,” he replied softly.“I love seeing how I can make you blush.”

He k*ssed me and I wrapped my arms around his shoulders.

“I’m glad you like it, I guess,”I saidwith a barely restrained laugh.“You do it often enough.”

He shook his head.“No, not nearly often enough.”

He k*ssed me and I returned the action happily.

There were probably plenty of people that needed something from us today and when we finally started our day, I’m sure that we would be kept busy until dinner, but that just made these stolen moments all the sweeter.

I was in no rush to face the rest of

the world, not when Blake was touching me the way he was right now.
