Next day
Alexis sat in her room, thinking about everything that happened yesterday while she continued to have breakfast.
Augustus wasn’t the kind of man who would give up easily if he wanted something. That was exactly how he kept his. position as the strongest alpha and business tycoon in the nation.
But why would he want to harass her?
Was he really such a sadist that he felt the need to humiliate her once again even after making her go through that kind of ordeal? Alexis took another spoonful of cereal.
She was about to go and wash dishes when she heard her doorbell ring and her body nearly jerked in its place.
C–could it be Augustus again? Her lingers trembled as she heard the sound of her plione ringing at some distance. She wasn’t ready for that kind of repetition so early in the morning.
Knock! Knock!
The person started drumming the gate loudly, and the more she thought about Augustus coming again to torment her, the more worried she became.
With a resolute sigh, she made her way towards the door.
She peeked through the peephole and once she noticed who it was, her heart relaxed immediately.
“Andrew!” She opened the door, relief written all over her face, her eyes brimming with tears.
Andrew looked into her eyes and his resolution for what he came for, strengthened.
“Let’s go. You are not living here anymore. Dawson told me Augustus came and what happened. Judging from your reaction just now, I won’t be surprised if he came here too. I won’t allow you to live here anymore,” Andrew said as he entered the house.
Alexis, who had a slip–up of emotions, got back to her senses and shook her head.
“I can’t leave. This internship is important for me. I can’t throw away my years of hard work because of that man again. It’s only a matter of 15 days,” Alexis held her brother’s hand, who looked at her with sorrowful eyes.
He could see his sister was hurting.
When she had arrived at the borders of their pack, all wounded and bleeding, he wasn’t there at that time. But he returned as soon as he heard what happened.
When he reached home, he saw what kind of condition she was in.
He saw her crying and screaming in pain, taking medications to fall asleep because the memories of that night haunted her. How could he leave her here to be tormented once again?
“Alexis, princess, you know Dad and I would love it if you take over as our pack doctor. You don’t need to go to the States. Is there anything greater than that?” Andrew held her hands in his as he tried to convince her.
However, Alexis just looked at him and shook her head.
“You know me, brother. I want to wander around helping needy people. So what if I didn’t receive any love from my mate, the least I can do is save the lives of people who truly love each other, Alexis said, and Andrew sighed.
Chapter 9
There was no use trying to convince her when she used words like this that he couldn’t rebuke.
He nodded before gazing at the cereal bowl.
“At least come with me to have lunch?” He asked.
“Fine,” Alexis nodded and followed him out.
Augustus, on the other hand, who had been waiting for Alexis to come down from her apartment and saw her getting into the car with some other man, threw his cigarette away and got in the car, following their car.
He didn’t know what he was doing.
If someone had told him he would be stalking this ex–wife of his one day, he would’ve laughed in their face, but not now when it was actually happening.
After seeing her yesterday after around four years, he finally realized one thing that he couldn’t in their two years of marriage. He was addicted to her presence, and call it a mate bond or anything, but he felt calm around her.
When he touched her hand yesterday, slammed her into the wall, and rubbed his nose on her neck, he was tempted to cross all the boundaries he ever set between them and tell her how much he missed her. Even if she was the annoying person in the relationship who only wanted him for money, he missed her.
That house which he loathed because she used to be home felt even more empty and unfit for living after she left.
It was something that he realized a bit too late, but he was probably in love with his ex–mate. The kind of love where he was ready to be used by her
If she wanted to act like a gold digger and use him as a money bank, he wanted to earn enough to be able to fulfill her every
wish. As toxic as it sounded and appeared, for some reason, he was ready to do it as long as it ensured she came back to him
It wasn’t just about her anymore. It was about everything dear to him.
After four years his wolf also made his presence known completely. He needed her to stay sane.
Augustus parked the car at some distance before he walked out straight to the restaurant where Alexia went with
another man.
He didn’t sleep the entire night. He couldn’t.
The thoughts of Alexis, the way she turned in her doctor’s coat, looking like a professional, looked at him with so much hate and disgust, that he couldn’t sleep because of the pain he felt in his heart.
It hurt his heart. It hurt like he was being stabbed.
Why?
Because even though Alexis rejected the mate bond, he could never accept the rejection and has been suffering and going through the pain for four years.
He couldn’t accept the rejection without getting closer to her and knowing why she left him all of a sudden. Why after all the time of him threatening her, she left without saying anything.
As soon as Augustus spotted the table on which Alexis and the man sat, he noticed how the man ruffled Alexis’s hair and the girl smiled freely, the kind of smile she used to show him.
It wasn’t hard for him to recognize who this man was after one look.
Cher
It was the next–in–line alpha of the Enceladus pack. Yesterday it was the alpha of the Blue Heaven’s pack.
It was amazing how the girl who was supposed to be a mere wolf–less omega had so many powerful connections.
Everything was suspicious and mysterious around his ex–mate. Then again, he didn’t try to verify anything around her either.
“Mine, his wolf whispered from inside him when he saw Alpha Andrew feeding Alexis, and Augustus’s hands clenched by his side
Ours, Augustus corrected him before he stood from his place and walked to where Alexis was.
Alexis, who was being forced to eat by her brother, visibly froze in her seat when she felt Augustus’s presence.
“Alpha Andrew, I didn’t know you were in the area, Augustus extended his hand for the alpha to shake,
Andrew looked at the man in front of him and suppressed the urge to grit his teeth. He didn’t want to do it, but Augustus wasn’t just the tormentor of his sister, he was the strongest alpha too.
“Alpha Augustus, Andrew forced a smile and shook his hand, but he could see that the man’s attention was on Alexis.
“Aren’t you going to greet me?” Augustus asked Alexis, who clenched her teeth before raising her head.
Augustus looked directly into her eyes, the disgust in her eyes making his heartache, but he was resilient too. He would rather have her glare at him than look at another man.
“Augustus, Alexis said, deliberately removing the title to disrespect him.
A smirk appeared on Augustus’s face.
“I dare you to say that again in the same tone, Augustus stepped forward.
He wasn’t offended. In fact, it had little to no effect on his woll either, but he wanted to use this opportunity to dominate her and let her know who she still belonged to.
Alexis didn’t back away. Rather, she looked straight into his eyes.
Augustus raised her hand, ready to grip her chin, but before his fingers could even touch her skin, Andrew forward, held Alexis’s hand, and pulled her behind him.

“Please don’t mind her, Alpha Augustus. She is still learning,” Andrew said.
Augustus wanted to push Andrew away as his wolf reacted a bit harshly, but with him the second most strongest alpha, he didn’t want to do anything that would bring problems in his life when he could be using this time to have his woman back in his house.
“Sure. As you say, Alpha. However, I hope you won’t mind if I join you guys,” Augus
tus sat on the chair before anyone could say yes and Alexis gritted her teeth before sitting with a glare, making Augustus smile inwardly.
