Adam’s PO.V 

“We have to be careful, love. I heard that our prince is going to attend my coronation. You know that he can sense the truth from lies easily. If he catches our lie, then we will be doomed to the worst,” I tried to make Rachel understand how crucial our conditions were now. We both agreed to lie to everyone and say that we were fated mates. She rejected her mate, who was a beta from another pack before we came back to my pack. 

She wanted an alpha as her mate, and her greed for power matched mine. So we decided to work together so that we could increase our power together. We deceive our families and packs, but fooling a royal is nearly impossible. My plan had no flaws, but the sudden announcement that Prince Killian would attend this, ceremony had now put me on pins and needles. One mistake and I would be doomed to death. 

“I know, honey, and trust me, I will never let anyone know that I am not your fated mate. Once you will mark me, no one can do anything to us. After we finish the mating ceremony, we will be as good as a fated mate couple,” she smiled wickedly and pecked my l*ps quickly. I frowned and pulled her into my embrace. 

“Where are you going, huh?” I asked her seductively and then crashed my l*ps hungrily on hers. She giggled while wrapping her hands around my n*eck and k*ssed me back with the same passion. I loved the way she responded to me whenever we made out. We couldn’t have S** because it would mix our scents. We needed to wait until the mating 

ceremony. 

Suddenly, Crystal’s smiling face when she was talking with her cousin over the phone surfaced at the back of my mind. She was biting her l*ps from time to time. That was an innocent act, yet it made me lose control over myself at that time. I felt myself getting hard, and I broke the k*ss immediately. 

Rachel looked at me questioningly. “Uhhh… dad is calling me. I.. I got a mind link from him,” I lied to her, hiding my embarrassment. What was I thinking while k*ssing my girlfriend? How could I think about Crystal? She was nothing but a weakling, and I did the right thing by rejecting her. 

“Okay… I am also going to look for your mother after I freshen up,” she said with a small smile on her l*ps. I smiled and pecked her l*ps one more time before getting off the bed. My face immediately went cold as soon as I pulled my back toward her. 

I needed to do something to make Crystal go away from here until my mating ceremony. I knew that our bond had completely disappeared. Still, this attraction toward her could create a problem for me and my plan. I walked out of the room and closed the door behind me. 

“Hey, William,” I greeted the next line of the beta, and my best friend, who was also entering the pack house. 

“Hey, Adam…. Where are you going?” he greeted me back and asked me in a light tone. 

“Uhhh.. I was looking for my father. I want to talk about something related to my alpha ceremony and then the mating ceremony after that,” I answered him while walking with him towards my father’s office. He nodded and walked beside me. Soon, I was going to take over everything from my father, and then that office would be mine. I had so many plans in my mind to make my pack the strongest, and I was willing to do anything to achieve my dream. 

“I am going to the office too. My father asked me to come there,” he informed me, and I raised my brows questioningly. He shrugged his shoulders, indicating that he didn’t know the reason. 

“I heard that the prince is coming to attend my ceremony?” I asked him, and he nodded. 

“Yes, Dad also told me about this last night. It will be an honor for us if he is really going to come. He will be the one who holds the ceremony for you” he told me in a happy tone, and I smiled, but my heart skipped a beat in fear. 

“I told you not to mess with the Moon Goddess’s decision, and accept our mate, but you ruined everything for us,” my wolf, Neo, roared at the back of my mind. “Shut up, Neo,” I scolded him, and I cut off the link with him. I looked at the door of the office, which was slightly open.

“They are here,” his beta, William’s father, Warrick, suddenly announced our presence, and I took a deep breath. 

“What’s wrong, dad? Who do we need to send away, and why?” I asked him in a calm tone after entering the room. “Uhhh…. There’s nothing for you to worry about, son,” he answered me with a faint smile on his l*ps, but it made me raise my brows questioningly. “I am going to be the alpha of this pack in a few days, dad. I should know whatever concerns the pack,” I said to him in a stern tone. 

He sighed and then looked at William’s father. They both exchanged a look, and it infuriated me. He was hiding something from me, from his own son. “We need to send Crystal out of the pack for a few days, he told me, and I looked at William in 

surprise 

He was also surprised to hear what he told me. 

“What? But why?” William asked this time. “You two don’t need to know the details. Not yet. I can resolve this matter. You two have to take care of so many things related to your ceremonies. I can only tell you this much. Crystal can’t come in front of the prince or anyone related to the royal family, my father answered him in a stern tone. 

Warck sighed while looking at his son, William was disappointed, and so did I, but I didn’t show it to my face. 

“I know that you want your sister to be present at your ceremony, but try to understand the urgency of this matter, son. This is for Crystal’s good,” Warrick said to William in a serious tone. 

I was now confused by how secretive both fathers were right now. “Have you sent all the invitations, William?” my father asked William after some time. “Yes, alpha… Our guests will start arriving two days before the ceremony. I got the confirmation from almost everyone, he answered my dad in a formal and calm tone. 

“Let’s see the arrangements for their stays,” dad said to him and then stood up from his chair. Warrick and William also stood up with him, leaving no room for me to stay here. I also stood up and sighed internally. We all started walking outside the room. 

“How is Crystal now?” Dad asked Warrick while walking towards the living room. 

“She is fine now. She has enrolled herself in a human college online. She wants to study business administration with accounts. You know her passion for numbers,” Warrick answered in a happy tone. 

I scoffed internally. It was not a big thing, but still, they were as happy as if she had won the best warrior trophy. 

“I think we should start her training too, my dad said to Warrick after thinking about something. 

“I was about to talk to you about this. It will be better if we together train her,” Warrick replied to him, and I knitted my brows in confusion. 

Why were these two old hags so concerned about Crystal? At first, they didn’t want her to meet the prince, and now Dad wanted to train her. What was going on here? “I also thought the same. Although she can’t use her wolf’s strength and other abilities for the time being, we couldn’t delay her training anymore now. 

Aaaahh.. I have an idea, Dad suddenly chirped and stopped in his tracks, making us stop too. 

“What is it?” Warrick asked him while raising his brows. 

“Talk to Silvia. It will be better if Crystal goes to her pack for a few days. We…. we can say that she hasn’t found her mate here. So, Crystal wants to look for her mate in her pack,” Dad gave an idea in a cheerful tone. 

I clenched my fists tightly while glaring at the back of his head. 

“Will Crystal agree?” Warrick asked him worriedly. 

“Of course she will agree. You’re aware of Crystal and Silvia’s friendship. I can ask Theo to start her training there too,” my dad answered Warrick in a calm tone. 

“Dad,” I interrupted their conversation, making them look behind us. 

“Will you please tell us what exactly is going on with Crystal? Why can’t she be in front of the prince? What are you two hiding from us?” I bombarded him with all the questions that I had in my mind, annoyingly. He took a deep breath and then looked at Warrick once again, and I gritted my teeth in anger. 

“Don’t be agitated, Adam. Crystal’s wolf surfaced on her birthday but she didn’t shift because of some reason that I can’t tell you right now. The prince is coming here for a specific purpose. You know how powerful royal blood can be, especially, Prince Killian Knight. He is the strongest werewolf right now, and he could easily sense everything about Crystal. It can be a problem for Crystal,” he answered me in a very confusing way, but what I understood from his statement was that Crystal didn’t shift on her birthday. 

It meant that she was a late bloomer, another sign of a weak wolf. I didn’t pursue the matter further and nodded to him. It was enough for me to know that my decision to reject her was right. We all started walking towards the living room once again. They both exchanged looks again but didn’t say a word. 

“Do you know what is really going on here?” I asked William through the mind link. 

“No idea, boss…. I am also surprised and confused now,” he answered, and I just nodded while looking in front of me. 

“What did you know about Crystal’s wolf?” I asked him in a calm tone. “I only know that her wolf is strong, but for some reason, she didn’t surface at the time when she should. Crystal has all the other abilities that she should. She just can’t shift on her will,” he told me what he knew truthfully. I nodded, but I was happy in my heart about my decision to reject her. That was the right decision. 

“You forgot the part where he said that her wolf is strong.” Neo smirked, and I rolled my eyes at him. “It doesn’t matter how 

strong she is. She can’t shift at will. Moreover, she can’t be stronger than an alpha she–wolf,” I replied to him in a sarcastic tone. He smirked, making me raise my brows, and without saying anything retreated back, cutting off the link with me.
