Chapter 63

Crystal’s POV.

“Things are not as simple as they seem on the surface, Crystal. Nelson has guarded his pack so well that it’s impossible to infiltrate it,” Vincent said in a gloomy tone, making me purse into a thin line. “Even vampires can’t enter her pack let alone rogues,” he continued and I just listened to him without thinking anything.

“According to my investigation, the vampires supplied him with a few injections of vampire serum in every two weeks,” he said further, and this time, I narrowed my eyes while thinking about something. “I did feel something weird about his wolf,

His wolf is strong, stronger than any other alpha

but I couldn’t pinpoint an other powers that I couldn’t assess,” I told him

in a calm tone while thinking about what Luna told me about his wolf.

“He is an alpha blood born from a beta father. He can be considered as born alpha as her mother came from a strong alpha line,” Vincent and I took a deep breath. “What about vampires‘ activities around his pack all these years?” I asked the main question for which I desperately wanted an answer.

“I found that vampires abducted his pack members in large numbers in the beginning but this number gradually decreased, and they started abducting werewolves from other packs. He supplied them with some werewolves but there is a doubt about the origin of those wolves,” he replied to me and took a deep breath in the end. I frowned and scratch my nose while thinking about what Vincent wanted to tell me.

“It means that he did give some werewolves to Vampires for experiment, right?” I asked him in confusion. “Yeah… it is indeed the case but those wolves were not from his pack. O…. yeah… there is one more thing,” he suddenly chirped, and I raised my brows. “There is also something different about his warriors. They not only have a strength of a werewolf but they also possess the speed of a vampire,” he told me, and I stopped breathing for a few seconds.

“Yo… you mean to say th.. that he is experimenting on his warriors?” I asked him, exclaiming in disbelief. “It seems so, Crystal. This also explains why vampires can’t enter the pack as they were caught by the patrollers before entering the pack,” he answered me, and I sucked a breath. “What exactly does he want to do?” I exclaimed in frustration this time.  sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNovᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“I don’t know the answer to this question, Crystal, but one thing that I know clearly is that you shouldn’t go there. He is holding so many secrets. It’s hard to believe his words without any words. He didn’t tell you the whole truth,” Vincent replied to

me in the same gloomy tone. “I don’t think that he will hurt us, Crystal,” Luna said in a calm tone this time.

“Let me inform you if you find something more about him,” I asked Vincent while rubbing my forehead. I was now feeling a headache. “Take care of yourself, kiddo. We really miss you,” Vincent said in a loving, and worried tone. I smiled and looked up in front of me. “I miss you too, brother. I want to meet you guys,” I replied in a cracked tone. “Come here after leaving the Royal Pack this time,” he proposed and I chewed on my inner cheeks.

“Let me talk with Theo in this matter. Although Dad and Alpha Adrian is taking good care of the pack, he still has to deal with so many things there,” I replied to him in a calm tone. He chuckled, making me knit my brows in confusion again. “Why are you laughing, huh?” I asked him in an annoying tone. “You truly have changed, Crystal. Now you are more worried for your mate than us,” he said in a teasing tone, and I shrank my nose, but guilt filled my eyes.

“I will come soon, brother,” I replied to her in a soft tone. “I will wait for you,” he said before hanging up the phone. I sighed and put down the phone on the bed beside me. “Why did you say that he will not hurt us, huh?” I asked Luna after some time in a calm tone.

“His wolf does have some abilities as he managed to block me when I was trying to assess him, but he was not hostile towards me. I tried to talk to him, and he talked to me. I.. I don’t know how to make you understand the situation, but it felt as if… if I am talking with my father when I was talking with him,” Luna said in an embarrassing tone, but her statement took me off guard. “He is not our father, Luna.” I said in a stern tone.

She sighed aloud while looking at me helplessly. “I don’t know what to say or how to put it in words, Crystal, but his wolf was protective towards us, and also warned me not to do anything on whim. He also asked me not to use my powers for the time being. He… He said that we have so many enemies all around us, and we shouldn’t trust anyone else than our brother, and our mate in any situation,” Luna told me what she talked about with Nelson’s wolf

I was really surprised to hear what she told me. “It’s strange,” I said and she immediately bobbed her head in agreement. “If he wants to hurt us, he would have tried to convince me that he is a friend. Instead, he kept trying to make ne understand that I shouldn’t let my guard down in front of others, no matter how dear that person to me except Killian and Theo,” she said further, and now I was completely confused.

Let’s not think about him for the time being. We are still weak, and we should

concentrate on recuperating instead of thinking about this weird stuff,” I asked her, and she took a deep breath. I looked in the direction of the door when I felt Killian and Theo coming towards the room with Nathan, and Edward. Why all of them are together?

The door opened, and Theo entered the room first. “How are you feeling now?” he asked me in a gentle tone while coming towards me. All of them were covered in sweat, indicating that they had just finished their training. “Bored,” I told him truthfully, and all of them chuckled. “You are not fit to leave the bed,” Nathan said while sitting near my legs on the bed. I grimaced and gave him a threatening look.

Theo came near to me and k*ssed my forehead before looking back at me. “I am going to take a shower,” he whispered, and I nodded to him. He then looked at Killian, and I furrowed my brow when I saw them exchanging a look. Theo then walked towards the bathroom, and I stared at Killian. He dragged a chair near the bed and sat down.

“Didn’t you guys need to take a shower?” I asked while looking among them. “We do, Crystal… but we will go later,” Edward answered me with a playful smile on his l*ps. “So you all are here to babysit me?” I asked them in an accusing tone, and they all chuckled while looking at each other.

I frowned and looked in the other direction. “You have to help us for Alpha meet here, Crystal,” Edward said in a serious tone after some time, and I looked at him in confusion. “Aren’t we arranging this meet online this time?” I asked him in confusion, and he nodded in agreement.

“That’s right… we are holding this meeting online but we need to keep an eye on them during the meeting,” he continued and my confusion deepened. “Let me explain this to you,” Nathan said while looking at Edward, and Edward gave him a nod, signalling to carry on. I admired the coordination between them.

“We want to know who is with us genuinely and who is faking, and we can know this with your help,” Nathan said, and I just blinked while processing what they really wanted from me. “How can I help in this matter? It’s easy to assess during a physical interaction but not virtually,” I said, and he looked at Edward before looking back at me.

“We don’t need your abilities as a wolf here, honey…. We need your intelligence here,” he continued, and I raised my brows in surprise. “You want me to infiltrate their systems during the meet?” I asked him in a surprised tone, and a wide smile appeared on their l*ps immediately. “No way… it’s too dangerous,” I exclaimed and looked at Killian for support who was silent all this time.

Chapter 68

“Actually… It’s my idea,” he said when he saw me looking at him. My eyes widened in shock this time. “I am thinking about talking with William too. William told me once that both you and Vincent are excellent in technology… I am not using a particular word here… you know what I mean…. So, here is my theory,” Killian continued and paused before he proceeds telling me his theory.

It’s not easy to go to each pack one by one and try to find out their real intentions. towards us. Moreover, it will not be easy to go through the system even if we go to their packs. So, we have to take the wrong path to achieve our goal this time,” he continued, and now I understood what he exactly wanted to know. “He also has the same hunch,” Luna told me, and I smirked internally. Although Edward and Nathan were our best friends, they still didn’t know what the king and Nelson told us about our mother.

“You too have this feeling that someone else is also involved in our mother’s. kidnapping, right?” I asked him through sibling bond. “You got me right, sis. They don’t tell us the whole truth,” he answered me in a serious tone. We had a perk of being from the line of white wolves that our eyes didn’t faze during the mind–link, and that was why no one around us could know what we talked about.

“With you, and Vincent, I am sure that we can more important information about what is really going on in our world. I don’t know why but I am having this hunch that someone was already working with the vampires even before our births,” Edward said with a gloomy expression on his face. “I have the same thing in my mind. Changing a werewolf into a forced hybrid is not something that someone can do in a year or two.” Nathan also agreed having a serious expression on his face.

I looked in the direction of the bathroom when Theo came out. He had a towel wrapped around his waist, and the water drops were still falling from the tip of his hair. “I think we also have something to avoid suspicion,” he said in a serious tone, and I pursed my l*ps into a thin line. “Leave this on me, guys. I know what I need to do,” I said in a calm tone, forming a plan in my mind.

“What if we don’t be able to find that man?” Luna asked me in a worried tone. “Then we will try harder,” I said in a determined tone while looking at the guys in front of me. Killian was in deep thought, and it was enough for me to understand that we needed a heart–to–heart talk, but alone… not in front of others, not even in front of Theo.

We know that you can take care of these things on your own, Crystal. Still we want Jo say that we are always here for you, not matter what the condition is. We….. (Edward looked at Nathan)…. may not be a genius like you, but we also have some

skills to show off,” Edward said in a calm tone, making me raise my brows in surprise. Nathan also shook his head enthusiastically.

It felt like he wanted to assure me that I am not alone in this mess. They didn’t have any idea about what was going on with my family, yet they wanted me to trust them enough. “I know, Edward, and thank you for taking care of me, and Killian,” I thanked him with a genuine smile on my l*ps, and he smiled widely this time. “It’s time to get back to work, girl,” Luna chirped at the same time, making me chuckle at her enthusiasm.
