Chapter 66

Nelson’s POV

“Do you really think that you can afford enmity with me, Nelson?” the person who had kidnapped Catherine back then threatened me over the call, and I smirked. with disdain. “Can’t I?” I asked him in a mocking tone. “I seems that you forgot  S~ᴇaʀᴄh the FɪndNovᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

what I did to your beloved Catherine, and what I can do to her?” He forgot

again with Catherine, and my face immediately went cold.

He still didn’t know that Catherine is already with me. He was still in this illusion that I didn’t know that Catherine had escaped his captivity eighteen years ago. He approached me right after he kidnapped Catherine, and started using me against. the whole world by threatening Catherine’s life. I wanted to know his motives. towards the Royal Pack, and towards Killian, and that was why, I never mentioned to him that I have found Catherine.

“I want to know what you can do to her,” I suddenly asked him in a cold tone, and smirked when there was silence on the other side for a good few seconds. “You dare,” he said while gritting his teeth, and both I and Kai laughed internally. “And why can’t I?” I asked him in a playful tone this time. “In fact…. Now I realize why I need to stay under your thumb when she is only my ex–mate,” I continued and paused at the end.

“It seems that you don’t love her anymore,” he taunted and I scoffed aloud. “It has been eighteen years. Why I am supposed to wait for her when she has a mate. It doesn’t matter how many sacrifices I did for her. She will return to her mate instead of coming to me. I agree that I was stupid enough to play this game with you when I would be the only loser in the end,” I kept on mocking myself while looking at Thomas.

He had his eyes on his watch. “Do you really think that she can escape from my clutch?” he asked me in a taunting tone, and I really wanted to strangle him to death. Only a few more seconds, and then he wouldn’t be able to hide from me. “Does it matter to me now, huh? Whether she is with you or with her mate…. She will not be with me ever…. So I decide to give up…. And also I warn you,” I replied to him, and my tone went cold in the end.

“Do not cross my path ever…… ever again,” I threatened him this time. I was expecting his call after I saved the Night Lotus Pack from his pack. I was a bit late still managed to save half of their population. “Then what about her daughter, huh? What’s her name?” he suddenly brought Crystal into our conversation, and I clutched my phone tightly while clenching my jaw.

Chapter 66

“Yeah… I remember now… Crystal Blakefield. She is the Luna of The Crescent Moon Pack, right?” he asked me, and Kai growled loudly at the back of my mind. Suddenly, a cold smile appeared on my l*ps when Thomas signaled me that we had achieved our goal. I started laughing maniacally to stop him from hanging up. “Why are you laughing, huh? Have you gone crazy?” he asked me angrily, but I didn’t stop laughing.

“Do you really think that you can mess with that couple, huh?” I taunted him once. again. “Not to mention her mate, she is alone enough to destroy you. Haven’t you got the reports of the last attacks where she killed your insects without any mercy?” I kept on mocking him, infuriating him to death. There was once again silence on his side. “Still, she is not my daughter, and I should not worry about her. In fact, I am worried about you now,” I mocked him once again in the end.

“What?” he asked me in a confused tone this time. “She and her brothers along with her mate are searching for Catherine like mad dogs. They have found a weapon against your insects. They will be soon at my door step and then they will know that I am not the one behind Catherine’s kidnapping. Then she will start searching for you, and then you will be doomed,” I explained what was going to happen with him in the future.

“I accept that I failed to find you and played as your puppet all these years. Now, I have no interest in you and in Catherine. I am sure that I will have a second chance, and all I need now is to search for her. Like everyone, I also want a family too,” I said nonchalantly and decided to end up this call. “I said what I want to say to you. Approach whoever you want to approach. Just keep this in your mind that I am no longer under any threat,” I said in a cold tone this time, and before he could say a word again, I hung up.

“We got his location, alpha,” Thomas informed me immediately in a calm tone. “This fast,” I asked him in surprise, and he smiled faintly. “These pups are truly amazing, Nelson. They are so well versed with human technology that they didn’t let anyone know that we were in touch, and were tracing everyone who is in contact with you and the pack members, and now we have found who is a traitor among us, and where this prick is hiding,” Thomas praised Crystal, and her brothers from the Blood Moon Pack, and a small smile appeared on my l*ps.

“Should we start preparing to attack him?” Thomas asked me in an excited tone, and I shook my head negatively. “No need….. he will be at our doorstep soon,” I answered him, and he frowned this time. How can you be so sure?” he asked me, and I smirked slyly this time. “Are you thinking about using Crystal to lure him out?” he exclaimed in panic, and I glared hard at him.

“No matter how fierce warrior she is, or how special her wolf is…. I will never allow

anyone to hurt her,” I said in a stern tone, and Thomas immediately bobbed his head in agreement. “Do you get any news from Cynthia?” I asked him when suddenly that brat popped in my mind. “Yeah… the situation, is not good around the Royal Pack these days, Nelson. She said that they are killing almost five to ten hybrids almost every day. Thanks to the bullets that Crystal has modified, they don’t need to worry about their safety now as they can kill those hybrids from a distance now.” he informed me, and I pursed my l*ps into a thin line again.

Killian’s POV

“We have a situation around the west side of the border, Killian,” Edward mind. linked me when I saw inspecting the training session in the evening. “What happened?” I asked him in a calm tone while watching my warriors sparring with each other in the morning. I was assessing their weaknesses so that they could

work on that later.

“We got some half–decomposed bodies of the hybrids near the border,” he told me, and I raised my brows in surprise. “They were buried there,” he continue and now my eyes were widened in surprise. “It seems that someone killed them before they could sneak inside the pack,” he told me further, and now I was curious to know the exact situation there.

“Stay there…. I will be there in fifteen minutes,” I instructed him, and then walked out of the training ground. “Who bike is this,” I asked in a loud tone while pointing on a bike parked outside the ground. “It’s mine, my prince,” one of the warriors. yelled back while stopping his spar. “Give me the keys,” I demanded, and he immediately nodded. He ran towards the bench, and then took something from his bag.

He came to me in long strides and gave the keys to me. “Take back from the palace in the evening,” I instructed him while igniting the engine. He nodded and stepped aside. I immediately drove the bike towards the west side of our border. Suddenly Blake started pacing restlessly at the back of my mind. “What happened?” I asked him worriedly while feeling the coldness of the air against my face.

“I don’t know but I… I am having some weird feelings,” he answered me in a confused tone, and I raised my brows. “Should I ask Edward to prepare a team to fight?” I asked him in a concerned tone this time. “Nah… that won’t do,” he

answered me, but increased his pace at the same time. “What exactly is going on with you, Blake? You are giving me a headache,” I asked him, clearly annoyed by his pacing at the back of my mind.

“I said…. I don’t know,” he yelled back, and I grunted in frustration this time. I decided to ignore him for the time being, and focused on driving the bike. “I guess

Chapter 66

I need to dig the whole area, Killian. Someone is using this area as a dump yard to dump the dead bodies of the hybrids,” Edward mind linked me again, and I could feel anger in his voice.

“I am on my way there,” I informed him in a calm tone. Someone was killing hybrids around my pack? What did it mean? It meant that these dead hybrids were here to hurt us, but someone not only killed them, but also buried them here to avoid any suspension. I stopped the engine near the checkpoint and got off the

bike.

up

“Where are they?” I asked Edward when he approached me after I left the bike. “This way,” he said, leading the way, and I followed him without asking anything. I was startled to see the place. The patrollers here were now digging the whole ground. “How did we find their bodies?” I asked Edward in a calm tone. I could see that they were buried to a good depth, and there was no way that any foul smell of decomposing bodies could linger in the air from that depth.

“The patrollers spotted some people digging here the last night. The wolves who were digging these graves here, simply dumped these fresh bodies here and ran away. It was when they found some strange marks on the ground. They contacted. me, and I came here,” he explained the whole situation, and I just nodded in response. “We have to search the forest for those wolves, Killian. Stephen said that he has seen two of them in this area quite frequently these days,” he told further, and I looked at Stephen.

“We need your permission to search the forest, my prince. This is your orders that we can’t go out of the pack borders,” Stephen said while lowering his head in front of me. “I remember that,” I replied to him in a calm tone, and I looked at Edward. He immediately glared at me. “I will not allow you,” he growled, and I scoffed. “Do you think that I will stay here and watch from afar what is going on outside the borders, huh?” I asked him in a mocking tone, and he grimaced.

“We are going there,” I told him my decision in a firm tone, and looked at Stephen. “Ten warriors are going with me, and others will guard the borders, and will keep their eyes around us. “Alert us if you sense any danger,” I commanded everyone in a calm tone. “What about this, my prince?” Stephen asked while looking at an open grave. “Stop digging more. It’s not like they matter to us,” I replied to him, and he nodded in

response.

“Let’s go,” I said to Edward and I started walking towards the tree line. “I am having a bad feeling, Killian,” Blake said in a worried tone, making me scoff. “Are you scared, Blake?” I asked him in a teasing tone, and he growled aloud at me. I didn’t pay attention to him and continued walking towards the forest. I needed to find
