Chapter 85 

Crystal’s P.O.V. 

“How are you a hybrid, Crystal? L.. I have seen you all my life, and you were completely fine and normal back then.” Adam asked me in a worried but curious tone. I moved my face upwards and looked at Theo. He blinked, giving me permission to share this with Adam. If we wanted him to understand the whole situation, he should know the truth first 

I looked back at him and saw a cold expression on his face. He had his eyes. glued on my shoulder where Theo was holding me lightly. I didn’t have time to be concerned about what he was feeling for me right now. 

“He has my mother, Adam,” I told him in a low and painful tone. “Your what?” he asked me, dumbfounded, and I gulped down the lump that had formed in my throat. “You heard me. The Vampire King, Marcus Cullen, kidnapped my mother before my birth. She was pregnant with me this time. She is also the first alpha on whom he experimented for the first time.” I told him further while trying to suppress the pain that I was feeling in my chest right now. 

Adam’s eyes widened in shock, and he looked at me with his mouth wide open. Theo’s hold on my shoulder tightened immediately. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to suppress this pain. I didn’t know why I was feeling so much, but it was hurting like hell right now. I put my hand on my chest and patted it lightly to ease the pain. “What’s wrong?” Theo asked me immediately in a worried tone. “Uhh… noth… nothing,” I answered him while looking at him with a weak smile on my l*ps. 

I looked back at Adam and saw the worry on his face too. We didn’t have any bond between them, but I couldn’t deny the fact that we were friends before

he left for the Alpha Academy. “Do you know who… who my father is?” I asked Adam in a low tone. “No, Crystal… you will not tell him about Nelson.” Theo immediately warned me through the mind–link. 

“We can trust him,” Luna answered both of us in a serious tone. Adam looked between me and Theo in confusion. “My eyes didn’t faze during the mind- link, Adam.” I answered his confusion, and his eyes widened in shock again. Soon, the pain of betrayal once again crossed his eyes. 

“Luna surfaced when our school was attacked by the rogues four years ago. You know about that incident, right?” I asked him in the same low tone once again. He just nodded in response while looking at me with a painful gaze. “Alpha Adrian was the one who found her lying unconscious after that attack. He… he managed to get her to shift back, but she was too weak to surface again for the next few months. Alpha Adrian commanded me not to tell anyone, not even my parents and my brothers, about my shifting. Luna… my wolf… she… she surfaced again after you went for the alpha training.” I paused and gulped. hard once again. 

“You are not well…. What happened?” he asked me in a worried and I clutched my chest hard. I felt a few beads of sweat on my forehead. “Crystal… what happened?” Theo immediately held me tightly in his embrace and bent on his back to look at me. 

“Bring her here… she is not able to breathe.” Adam instructed Theo in a 

panicked tone. I felt torn inside my chest as if someone was trying to pull my heart out. “What is happening, Luna?” I howled in pain. She suddenly howled aloud in pain, making me scream too. 

The next second, my vision went blank, and there was a shrill ringing sound in my ears. “Aaahhhhh,” I screamed at the top of my lungs when a wave of pain. hit me hard. Luna also howled at the top of her lungs, mixing her voice with 

my scream. 

I didn’t know what was happening around me, but I felt like dying. My whole b*dy was numb, and I couldn’t feel anyone’s presence around me, not even Theo’s. I screamed in pain one more time when the next wave hit my chest harder than earlier. 

“Luna.. do something,” I screamed once again when I felt that I would die because of the pain now. “Th.. thi…………rom o..ur mot.” She tried to say something in a very faint tone, and before she could finish what she wanted to

tell me, she fainted at the back of my mind. Before that, she tried to take as much pain as she could, but that was not enough. 

“Luna.” I screamed in panic, and then the ringing increased to the maximum, and I fainted too. Before I lost consciousness, I felt Thunder trying to approach me through the mate bond. There was also another pull, as if someone else was trying to approach me, but I couldn’t register who that

Theo’s POV 

“Crystal… Crystal… what is happening to you?” I screamed in panic while trying to hold her b*dy on the bed. Her b*dy was trembling badly, as if she were having a seizure. Adam ran out of the room so fast that I couldn’t even register when he crossed the room. 

“Someb*dy call the doctor.” I heard him roaring aloud out of the room. “Thunder.” I roared at my wolf. “I am trying, Theo. It seems that someb*dy else is trying to approach her, pushing me out of her mind.” He answered me in an agitated and helpless tone. 

“Someone else?” I narrowed my mind, but I held Crystal tightly once again -when she screamed again. The problem was that both Luna and Crystal were now screaming in pain, which was rare for a wolf. “What happened?” I heard Alpha Adrian roaring in panic but I didn’t pay attention to him. “Try to take her pain through our mate bond, Thunder,” I commanded Thunder once again. 

“I am trying hard to reach her, Theo. Both Luna and Crystal were not approachable through the mate bond right now.” Thunder growled helplessly. I took while putting my hand right over her 

a deep breath and closed my eyes heart. “Keep her still in one place,” I ordered everyone around me. I felt the presence of Adam, Alpha Adrian, Luna Elena and my mother around me. 

I channeled my energy with the help of Thunder to her heart to strengthen it. It felt that it was about to burst at any time soon the way it was pounding right now. heard Crystal screaming again in pain and agony. She was losing her consciousness now. Thunder and I tried hard to reach, but I growled in frustration when I felt that something was really blocking my access to her.

I was surprised to hear what he said. “He is right. Use your ancient bond with her, Theo. She is about to have a cardiac arrest, and soon you will be in the same pain.” Alpha Adrian immediately spoke in a panicked tone. I just nodded to him, and looked back at Crystal. Her eyes were rolled back in her eyes, indicating that she was about to lose consciousness. 

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes again. “Try to connect her with our original bond, Thunder.” I commanded Thunder while letting my free so that we could find the right connection as soon as possible. It took a few seconds, before I felt a wave of pain hitting my chest like a bomb. I trembled hard, but felt someone holding me immediately. The pain was so severe that I felt my knees go jelly due to the impact of the pain. 

I tried to bear the pain with all my strength when the second wave of pain hit me again. I could feel a loud thumping of her heart under my palm, but it was getting slower and slower with every passing second. Thunder growled lowly while we started losing our strength, but it didn’t matter to me. My life was nothing without her, and there was no way that I would let happen anything to her until my last breath. 

“H.. her m.. mother’s wolf.” Thunder uttered it in a painful tone. “Huh?” I asked in a confused tone while trying to suppress the pain. “Sh…she is gu.. guarding her… all… all this time.” Thunder told me in a very painful and low voice. We were now losing our strength. “Leave her, Theo… the doctor is here.” I heard Adam asking me to move in a low tone at the same time. 

“She has fainted… Let the doctor check on her.” Thunder said in the same tone while panting hard at the back of my mind. I collapsed in Adam’s embrace, but he held me tightly. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Bernard checking her pulse. Both my mother and Luna Elena were holding her arms. from both sides. 

Adam dragged me away from her. I was now breathing heavily. Alpha Adrian approached me with a worried face. Adam made me sit on a chair and gave me a glass of water. We were in Alpha Adrian’s room, where Adam was now staying with his parents.

“What happened?” Alpha Adrian asked me in a worried tone. “It… it’s her mother’s wolf,” I answered him while trying to breathe properly. I felt so weak and tired, as if someone had sucked out all my energy. Alpha Adrian narrowed his eyes in confusion. “What about her?” he asked me in a confused tone. “Sh… she is th.. the one who was protecting her all these years,” I told him what Thunder told me in a tired tone, and his eyes widened in shock. 

“It is impossible for a werewolf to leave her human b*dy to protect her child. or anything like that, Theo.” Mom said in a shocked tone. “I know, mom… but this is what Thunder told me. We… were… stopped by so.. someone to reach her through our… our mate bond.” I answered her in a tired tone. 

They all gasped in shock immediately. I closed my eyes, trying to breathe. properly. Everything was so confusing and messy right now. “It’s true that a werewolf can’t leave his or human b*dy to protect anyone, even his or her child, but her mother’s wolf did. Could it be… be possible th.. that by any means… sh.. she is trying to go back to 

to her human?” I snapped open my eyes and looked at Adam when he made an assumption in a hesitant tone. 

Everyone was now looking at him with the same expression of shock, and he had a troubled expression on his face right now. I narrowed my eyes while processing what he said. Her mother drifted into a coma state right after giving birth to her. Were these two incidents related to each other? Could it be possible that the pain of going away from her wolf was so severe for her that her mind shut down her b*dy in order to save itself?
