It's been 27 days since my fight with Selina and I miss her. Should I call her? Maybe I should have stayed... I don't know this is all too confusing!

"You like her and are attracted to her. I don't see what it's confusing here." Comments my wolf.

I don't know what is best? when he's ignoring me for 6 months and when he only says stupids things. He growls at my thought.

"Do you have feelings for her?" I ask him.

"There is something about her... I can't explain."

"So you like her too?"

"I don't know it's too confusing." He mocks me and I'm shutting him out.

I don't what is it about her... but there is something special. How can Noah be so blind? I don't understand him. Our wolves were really close too, like brothers. Does is it bothering him too to fall for his brother's mate? I know he can still hear me but he prefers to stay silent. Annoying wolf!

My phone is ringing and it's my father.

"Hey Father, How are you? How is your life of retirement?" I ask him.

“Hey Son, I’m fine. Thank you. It’s weird to not be the Alpha anymore but it’s also relaxing.”

“Good!”

“Look, I called you because there is a ball in the castle in two days and we’re all invited. You have to come.”

A ball that means I will see Selina again. Maybe this is just the excuse I needed.

“Great!” He says relief.

We are at the ball for almost 2 hours and I didn’t find the opportunity to speak with Selina. She is always busy speaking with someone. It’s crazy how she is alone in the middle of so many people.

"I know, I can feel her loneliness from here." My wolf comments and I can feel his sorrow for her.

"I really have to find a moment to speak with her." I tell him.

I walk out of the ballroom because I need some air. But before I can go out, someone catches my arm, puts a bag on my head and pushes me in a room on my right.

"What the fuck is going on?!" I ask angrily.

But my anger deflates when the bag is taking off my head and I'm in front of Queen Anna-Lynn.

"Get up Tom. I heard so much worst and my reaction would have been worst if I was you." She replies.

She sighs again and gives me a small envelope: "You will find all the information in need in this flash drive. And this card is linked to a secret account, use it as much as you need. You can pass by the widows, as I will pass by the doors."

"Thank you for trusting me!" I say feeling honor.

"One last thing, If it's getting too much call me!" She orders but leaving with her mate.

"I will!" I whisper going out by the window.

I need a walk and cool off before going back. Kaiden and my parents will know something is up if they see me now.

"Wow! The queen is trusting me!" I think for myself.

"I know! This is so cool! We are in a secret mission!" My wolf says exciting as he has never been since Melissa's death. When he is exciting like that, I imagine him doing a moonwalk. I know this is stupid but I can help it.

"We can't fail Selina, whatever it will cost us." I tell him.

"I know and we will." He promises. Good to see we are on the same page.

I have been walking for 30 minutes when my wolf becomes restless.

"What's wrong?" I ask him.

"Go back inside something is wrong. Something is really wrong. Find Selina know!" He replies.

I follow her smell and it's guiding me far from the ballroom. In the opposite wing actually. When I smell blood, I start to run full speed. In a hallway, I see Selina and her cousin Alexis. They are both in bad shape. I approach Selina and she looks scared and horrified. She looks at her cousin like she doesn't him. He's lying on the floor in a pool of his blood.

"Selina, what's happened?" I ask her but she growls at me still scared.

"Calm down Selina." I say approaching her like she was a wounded animal. She is a Lycan she can kill with one finger if she wants.

"I hear to help you, it's me, Tom." I say touching her jaw.

She turns back and starts to shake violently. She is bleeding on her head, arms, and legs. Her left arm has a weird angle. No doubt, it's broken Before I can ask her anything else we hear people running towards us. The first to be here is Queen Anna-Lynn. We are alone for now but not for long. We exchange a look and I know what I have to do. Protecting Selina. We need to get out now. I activate my teleportation bracelet and her and like that we are in Selina's house, in her kitchen.

"Wait for me here." I tell her.

She doesn't move. She is still shaking and too shocked. We don't have a lot of time. If they are looking for her, it will be the first place, they will look for. I take a suitcase and put some clothes and the first necessities. In ten minutes, I have everything she needs, I think. I also called for help.

When I come back into the kitchen, she didn't move even an inch. Shit, I forgot to take panties and bras for her. I'm going back to her room. What should I take? Suddenly Lana appears on my side, making my jump in surprise.

"Lana, we don't have time for this. Pick what she needs and meet me in the kitchen as soon as possible." I order her. Leaving the room before she answers and going back to Selina.

Selina is still not reacting. This is bad really bad. My wolf and I are worried sick. I've never seen her like that and I hope to never see her like that again. I promise you, Selina, it will never happen again.

"We don't have time for this! Let's go now."

I take Selina in my arms carefully not to hurt her more and Lana teleports us in a new place.

"Where are we? Are you sure it's safe here?" I ask Lana.

"It's my home. Believe me, it's safe." She replies.

"I will call the pack doctor." She adds looking at Selina worried.

"No! No doctor involves." Selina says coming back to her senses.

"I can fix it myself. Where is your bathroom?" She adds.

Lana pointed the hallway and says: "First door on your left."

"Thank you." Selina says following her indications.

"What's happened?!" Lana whispers when we hear the door closes.

"I don't know, I found her like that. She fought another Lycan."

"Thank you Captain Obvious. Only a Lycan can hurt another Lycan like that!" She says.

"I don't know but I will find out!" I reply annoyed.

It's been 42 minutes that Selina locked herself in the bathroom. My wolf and I reach the limits of our patient and I decide to check on her. I found her on the floor crying, her head between her knees. She has a towel around her. Even if her arms are back in the right position and she starts healing, I can see her bruises and two bites marks. I sit next to her and caress her head.

"I'm sorry Selina. So sorry. I felt something was wrong I should have come faster." I say.

"And he would have killed you." She whispers.

"Who?" I whisper back.

"Alexis."

"Your cousin! Why?" I ask surprised.

"He was not himself there. You will not believe me." She says and she starts to shake again.

"Show me, please?" I ask her. I extend my hand to her.

"I know I fucked up but trust me, please. I'm on your side." I add when I see her hesitation.

She nods and gives me her hand.
