I’m avoiding my mother. I know she knows something is up and I’m too scared I will split it if I speak with her. I’m really close to her as we love to practice magic together. she is a great teacher and like her, I’m using my magic mainly to protect earth and life. Lila asked me a lot of questions about what happened with Selina. I hate the fact I’m suspecting her. She is my sister and I can’t imagine her doing that. At the same time, that works for Fynn too. This is so stressful! I don’t know what to do! What we will do if it’s really one of them?

“This is so fucked up!” My wolf says as stressed as I’m.

“I know!”

What are we going to do if it’s really one of them? Trying to understand and help them. I can’t let someone hurt them! I’m their big brother. I wish I could speak to mom. She always good advice.

“Then, speak Peanut!” She says on my back.

I jump surprised. Goddess, it’s annoying when she’s doing that! But I also like it when I’m doing that with other people.

“Mom! You could have knocked and used the door!”

“And miss that face, never!” She smiles teasingly.

“I could feel your worries and you called for me, so I came.” She adds more seriously.

“I don’t think you want to hear that.”

“I know your father and you are hiding something from me. I know it’s about Selina. And knowing your father he thinks I can’t handle it and he wants to protect me. Tell me! I’m sure I can help.”

So I slipt the bean to her about how I spied on Selina and Tom and the danger they both are. How someone is using my identity and how this person is powerful and knows me well, very well. Not to forgot Tom’s wolf recognized the blood-link. I explain how Lila asks me a lot of questions and how it’s worrying me. I mean why will she do that?

While I’m explaining everything, mom is pacing around the room. Even when I finish she keeps walking around. She is deep in her thoughts and I have no idea what she’s up to.

“Do you know something that I don’t?” I ask her, eager to learn what she’s thinking.

“Do you remember that we discovered I was pregnant with your sister pretty late in my pregnancy.”

“Yeah, I remember your pregnancy was shorter than Fynn’s one. And dad used to joke about the fact you did a pregnancy denial because you didn’t want to postpone the wedding again.”

“Your father!” She says shaking her head and smiling.

She keeps going: “Anyway, Lila is selfless and she is always worried about others’ happiness. I think she was already hiding in my belly. We discovered she was hidden here two days after the wedding! She asked you because she’s worried about you.”

“So you don’t think she is involved.”

“No.” She replies.

“But?” I know she has more to say.

“But I’m worried about your brother.”

“Fynn?! He never asks anything. He doesn’t care at all.”

“Yet, he used to care. He changes during his sixteenth year. He is secretive now. He doesn’t share anything with us anymore. Not the important things. He wanted to become a Lycan, he doesn’t want anymore. He used to dream about his mate and now it likes he doesn’t want one.”

“For me, he’s still the same.” I say surprised to ear that.

“The change was not that big. He’s still the same. He just became secretive and we’re not closed as we used to be. I put that on the fact, he was growing up but now I’m asking myself if I should have worried more about those changes.”

“I’ve never realized that.”

“You were already at the university when he starts to change. Selina and Lila used to be closed and she was at home often so you were also avoiding to come not wanted to see her I think.”

“Yeah, I know... What you never told me?”

“That you were stupid to avoid your soulmate?”

“Easy to say! She hates me.”

“So you would like to become our King?” She asks by curiosity.

“Not, I’m not. But five minutes in her little head and I know I don’t want to give up. And see how I fucked up everything I know I have to pay the price to win her back. I just don’t want to give up my magic but if I have to become the King, I don’t think I will have the choice.”

“I disagree with you. I don’t see why you will have to give up your magic. The Moon Goddess made us powerful enough to be able to block the Lycan venom in our blood, there is a reason behind it. Moreover, Selina is a sweet girl and I don’t think she will ask you to sacrifice your magic.”

"I know Love. This is why you will not be in the dog house."

He sighs relieved. Yeah, mom is really scary when she is upset.

"I do, you too?" He replies.

"Fynn?" They ask at the same time.

"Why you didn't tell me?" I ask dad.

"Because I was not sure and you were already too worried. " He explains.

"Do you have an idea of how we can trick him?" Dad asks mom.

"Not yet but if we're right we need to protect him. I will let nobody touch him. I know this is really bad but it's our kid."

"We are on the same page! We will stop him if we have to but we will be the only one dealing with him. I don't care if Anna-Lynn and Anton disagree."

"Me too! He's my little brother." I say.

"No! Let us deal with that. You, you have to fight to win Selina's heart. And protected one of her plotters will not help."

I don't like that but I know he's right.

"Fine but I will help you to cover you up if I see it's needed." I concede.
