KASSIDY

_________

"So, what do you have in mind?" Noah asked skeptically. Everyone had gathered around the Other Stylo, waiting for his plan.

“We save the girls first,” he suggested. “I know where he’s keeping them and I know my way around the place without seeding off any alarms,” The Other Stylo explained.

“Okay, are there any guards around?” Dad asked. The other Stylo nodded his head. “Let me add someone, I think Stylo and Anais should take of any innocent bystanders. While the boys take care of the guards and any of the loyalists. And you and I can take care of Alex.” Dad suggested to him. The Other Stylo agreed.

“Um, Dad?” I got his attention. “What am I gonna do?” I wondered.

He sighed. “You can make sure that the girls get out safely and get them any food or water they need. Going off of what Stylo has told us, those girls may be in critical condition and need medical attention.” He advised, I nodded.

“Where and how are we gonna gather the supplies we need? There has to be guards crawling all over the town, and we need to go into the city to get what we need. We’re all hungry, too,” Ben admits.

“When’s the last time you kids ate anything?” Dad asks worried.

No one speaks.

We all dart our eyes in a different direction or hang our heads.

“I don’t think any of us had eaten for months, and if we did, it wasn’t enough to sustain us.” Kash admits.

“And, I couldn’t eat at all. Me and Dad were in Purgatory, and I stayed away from everyone else there.” I state with a shrug of my shoulders.

“What do you mean ′everyone else there’? Who else was in Purgatory?” Wren asked.

“There’s many parts of Purgatory,” Stylo began, “the part Kassi, Noah, and I were in, was highly populated with other dead. But your brother, Kash, and Xander were in their own special labyrinths in Purgatory. Separate from where we were,” he explained to Wren.

“So everyone that’s under the mind control gets put into their own personal Hell?” Wren scoffed in disbelief.

“Except for Kassandra and Jordan,” The Other Stylo added, “I made sure that their minds were at somewhat ease,” he assured. I nod, a bit relieved from his words.

The cave went quiet for a while.

Everyone stood and collected their thoughts on this whole situation.

A year ago, if someone were to tell me I was gonna die and be brought back to life, I would have laughed in their face.

But now?

I don’t know what to do with myself.

“I think we should go to the house,” I blurted out. Everyone’s heads turned to me.“We’ll have food, shelter, and clothes to wear, and maybe some warm water to shower with. I know I want a bed to sleep in, so I know you guys do too.” I stepped forward and explained.

Looking around, they seemed to agree.

“I’ll scout the area and let you know about any trouble on the way,” Ben volunteered.

“I’ll go with you, I know what time guards change shifts and where they’ll be. I think there may be some at your house, Xander,” The Other Stylo told.

Dad’s eyes shifted from being calm to enraged in that instant. The cave was calmly reverberating with our powers, but Dad’s seemed to cloud the air with its potency.

“Dad?” I called out to him, stepping closer to him. I reached my hand out to lay on his shoulder but I felt something.

Something wasn’t right.

His power doesn’t feel right.

“I think I know what’s happened to him,” The Other Stylo marveled. I snapped my head towards him.

“What is it?” I worried. My dad didn’t have power like this before.

“I think he’s regained his Lycan abilities.” He said astonished. I looked back at Dad with curiosity.

“You have got to be kidding me right now,” I breathed. I can’t believe this.

I looked into his eyes and found the gleam of silver. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

He actually has his power back.

“Do we know if he has all of it back? I mean, he did have it suppressed for years. Decades even!” Kash pointed out. The other Stylo hummed to himself in deep thought.

He opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off by the wails of wolves.

“What’s happening?” Anais yelped. The ground shook beneath us as a stampede of paws trampled the ground.

“Where are they going?” I yelped over the noise. The Other Stylo gestured for me to wait.

“They’re changing shifts,” he revealed, “we should leave now and mask our scents with theirs.” He suggested.

“But whenever one of us shifts, we end up being bigger than everyone else,” I reminded. He thought for a moment then came up with something.

“I use a masking spell for our scents, but I want you to know that you can change the size of your wolves back to their original size,” he tells us.

This is a surprise to me. I guess to Wren, Ben, and Kash too since they have him disbelieving looks.

“Since when?” I skeptically question. He sighed and rolled his eyes.

“Since always. That last battle, I made sure that Ben was big enough to destroy some things, but it’s not his original size,” he states. I stared dumbfounded at him, but soon a glare settled on him.

“So you’ve been pulling the strings on our abilities this whole time?!” I accused angrily. “Why should I trust anything you have to say right now?” I stabbed my finger in his direction. My flames threatened to spill from my body, but a hand rested gently on my shoulder, stopping me.

I looked over and seen Wren standing in front of me.

The sparks from his hand were calming me but I still had the urge to punch something.

Or someone.

“So does this mean you know how far our powers go? Or was that just a one time thing?” Wren questioned with a raised brow. There was a glint of frustration in his mossy eyes, and I completely understood it.

This whole thing is nerve wracking, not just for me, but for all of us.

“Look,” The Other Stylo has drawn a long breath and held his hands over his eyes, “the only time I tampered with anyone’s powers is with the accidents that put you guys under. I unleashed Wren’s powers twice, yours once, but I never needed to tinker with Ben’s or Kash’s with the exception of the last battle,” he rambled his explanation.

“Question,” Ben interjected. All focus set on him. “Would all of us have the potential to become Revolutionaries?” He queried in seriousness.

No one made an attempt to answer his question. I’m sure everyone of us has had that same thought before, but none of us dared to ask.

The Other Stylo cleared his throat and sighed again.

“Yes, but only you kids,” he revealed. “Your entire group has the potential of becoming Revolutionaries in the same way Kassidy and Wren had. You all get injured to point of death to cross over and receive your abilities. Even though Kash has a sample of Revolutionary power now, he can go to full potential if I do what I did with you two,” he directed the statement to Wren and I.

“Shit,” Ben muttered.

“Would it be the same for me, Stylo, Anais, Isaac, too? Since we aren’t wolves after all,” Noah piped up. The other Stylo turned and faced him ready to answer his question.

“Yes. You all would get your abilities the same way and become Revolutionaries.” He clarified for the younger Robinson brother. “We should go now while they’re still running.” He suggested hastily.

“We need to be quiet about this, any large noises will set Alex off and our plans will be ruined,” Dad added in. We all have a nod of agreement as we exited the cave making our way home.

We all shifted into our wolves except for Anais, the Stylos, and Noah. Anais hopped onto Ben’s back, Stylo jumped onto Noah’s, while the other Stylo jumped on my Dad’s back. Everyone had their clothes stuffed between their jaws as we prepared to go.

It felt weird being covered in fur again. I know Jana sure loves it as she shook or our fur. She nudged her about into Wren’s much larger one.

“Alright, lets go.” The Other Stylo urged. My dad lead our pack. All of us were running in sync with one another.

It felt good to have a pack like this. My dad did a good job of leading, much better than Alex ever could.

I’m sorry for leaving you in Purgatory,′ Wren’s voice apologized over our shared link.

“No, I should apologize, you’ve been through enough as is, and I stressed you out even more,” I enunciated back.

He chuckled and nudged me with his larger body as we ran. I nipped at his ear and nudged him back.

Stop horsin’ around,′ Dad reprimanded us.

“Sorry, Dad.” I bashed. Wren chuckled some more and gave me a wolffish smile.

Riot’s fur was as dark as ever. Shiny and rippling through the wind as we ran. His eyes blazed crimson while his scleras were as black as his fur.

“We’re here.” Stylo said from Noah’s back. We stopped and gazed at our home.

It was trashed.

Spray paint was thrown over our door, the grass was overgrown, a couple windows were broken. Other than that, the house kinda seemed fine.

Let’s get a move on.′ Dad grumbled annoyedly through the group link. We all trekked towards the house.

Noah had opened the door, letting us all in. Anais, Noah, and the Stylos all sat patiently in the living room while the rest of us went into our respective rooms.

Wren and I made it to my room before shifting back.

“Wanna shower?” Wren asked standing naked in front of the door. His skin was layered in dirt, grime, wounds, and blood.

“Yeah, and after I’ll look at those wounds for you.” I told him before he pulled his boxers before making it to the downstairs bathroom. Dad was in the bathroom down the hall, so we’re going downstairs.

This sucks.

A knock on the door pulls me from my thoughts.

“Kassidy, are you decent?” Dad calls.

“Uh, just a sec,” I quickly pull on one of Wren’s shirts from my drawer, “come in.” The door creaks open, Dad popped his head in just as I take a set at the end of my bed.

“How’re ya holdin’ up?” He asked thoughtfully. I sighed heavily. “That bad?” He chuckled and sat next to me on the bed.

“Is this ever gonna get better?” I ask laying my head on his shoulder.

“I will do everything in my power to make it all better, Kassi,” he kissed my head, “I promise.”
