Franklin woke up after having a rest for a few hours after this long journey that consumed his soul and left its impact on him. He took few moments to realize that he was in the base19 and that nightmare was finally over. He headed to his friend to make sure he is alright, But when he got there he was still the same, his organs are damaged and they’re working but he can’t move.

He headed to the manager of the base to bring everybody there to the base19. When the rein enforcement arrived, everyone at base4 was glad that crazy decision was really fruitful, but everything comes with its price.

“Where are John and Deon?” Blake asked as they arrived finally to the gate of base19 holding his black bag and inside it was his laptop where he keeps all of his work.

Franklin took a deep breath before he said: John was injured and Deon is…Deon is dead.

Kate was close to them overhearing the conversation between them and she barely managed to not cry over John, the man she loved and never showed it. But it was stronger than her so she just let it go and Franklin has hugging her like he was hugged his daughter before.

“We should go” said Franklin to them and they got inside with everyone in their new home.

Everyone had the same impression that Franklin had when he got to the base19; everything was well-ordered in the base.

“Where is John?”

“Follow me” said Franklin so Kate and Blake, who was leaning on his cane, followed him turning their heads in all directions.

Once she saw him, Kate rushed to John hugging him. “What happened to him” she asked Franklin so he told her what happened to them.

“The mistakes of that idiot Ronald cost everyone something, except him…that cocky bastard” said Blake as he was looking at the inert body before him.

“Frank, can I checkout the place?” said Blake after an idea flashed suddenly in his mind.

Franklin silenced for a few moments trying to understand the point of his request but he couldn’t really read between the lines so he just replied: don’t ask me, I don’t know.

So Blake just went alone exploring the place looking for that something he had in his mind so he asked one of the base habitats about if he can help him to explore the base and luckily he agreed.

“Where are the laboratory in this place?” said Blake so the man guided him to where the laboratory is.

“You can’t work on your experiments anymore, everything in this laboratory is to produce weapons” Ronald’s words flashed before his minds but Ronald this time was right, most of the trucks that was carrying the equipment and the chemical stuff was targeted by the aliens and was burned, only some of the materials wasn’t destroyed.

“This is the right place for me to finish what I began” said Blake once he saw the place and the equipment that was gathered from different universities and institutions, just like the other bases. He walked in looking at every square inch of that place, nothing extraordinary about the place, just a laboratory, but always he liked them.

“Alright, let’s get going” he said as he was getting out his laptop to start his work.
