Beast Of The Moon
TWENTY FIVE

North’s P.O.V

I raised my eyebrows in complete shock and confusion, was something wrong? “What?” I asked panicked, he shook his head, not taking his eyes off my burn. “It-It’s not possible” he stuttered over his words. “Klaus, what’s going on?” I asked trying to break his eye contact.

He shook his head and ran his hands through his mess of grey hair. He sighed, setting down the supplies and continued to stare. “Klaus, you’re scaring me, please say something” I begged him, but he only shook his head in response. He abruptly stood and walked over to the table and grabbed a hand-held mirror.

He walked back over to me and shoved the mirror in my hands, he sat down and said with panic, “Look” he pointed to my neck. I lifted the mirror up to my neck, expecting to see red, raw skin but I saw nothing, just skin. I nearly dropped the mirror at the sight of my non-damaged skin.

I swear on my life there was a third-degree burn right there! “This isn’t possible,” Klaus said, standing up. He started to pace around the room. I continued to stare at my skin, thinking that at some point the burn would return.

Not that I wanted it too, I just wanted to be the Werewolf worlds definition of normal for once. I ran my hands over it and didn’t feel the rough skin like before, or the shocking sting that happened when I touched it. It was completely healed.

“You sure that pole was silver?” Klaus asked, taking the mirror from my hands and setting it down, I guess he wanted my full attention. I nodded, “Yeah, it was silver” I confirmed. He sighed again then said walking over to the door. “Stay here” he demanded, pulling a lab coat over his arms.

“Why? where are you going?” I asked, still touching the place my burn used to be, “I’m going to find Dax and get that pole just to make sure. Stay Here” He said walking out the door. Leaving me alone. Not that I minded the quiet of being alone, but I knew it was dangerous for the only free Lycan left to be left with no one around.

I laid down on the hospital bed, feeling a sense of being board already soaking in. I closed my eyes, trying to see something other than the white sealing that laid above me. This world is going to drive me insane. I feel like I don’t even know myself anymore, not that I can’t remember if I did in the first place.

I’m giving this my all, trying to adapt to everything with open arms. It’s easy for everyone around me to push and demand that I act like them and be one of them. But that’s because they’ve lived this way for so long.

Miah did indicate she was bit not born, but I can only assume she’s been this way for a long time. She’s more than used to this life. Being a Lycan is way different from being a typical wolf, it comes with all these gifts and dangers. Hell, the whole Vampire community is after me.

I think the only good thing that’s come out of this so far is having a trusting family and Constance, she’s my soul mate. My worst fear is that I might do something one day that scares her or hurts her. I couldn’t live with myself if I hurt her.

The downfall of life as a Lycan is the gifts. At first, it’s a complete shock, you have something that makes you different and powerful in the supernatural world, that’s rare. But when everyday something new is different about you. A witch wants to help you, you’re immune to silver, you can’t be compelled.

The list goes on. Not that I’m complaining...ok I am. But it’s not the most pleasant thing in the world. There’s no doubt in my mind that Connor and the other Alpha’s are using me, they want to win the war and keep their people safe, I can respect that. But I can’t help but feel something off about the pack members here. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

I haven’t met most of them, hardly any. And Connor won’t introduce me to them, but I guess they do know who I am but it would be nice to meet the people I am trying to protect. I’m an understanding person and I respect people’s choices but it would be nice to have answers to things I don’t understand.

Like why Nymeria like me so much? Why Miah treats me like her son? Why Connor rages when I step one foot out of line? I don’t get it, not a single thing. Connor acts like I’m too much to handle, it’s almost like he just wants me to eat my feelings and do everything he says.

Like he willing to do anything to win this war, even if it means I die in the end. But I won’t take anyone with us if it comes to that. He makes it seem like I will let the whole pack down if I say the wrong thing or do something that’s not their way.

It’s almost like I shine so bright that I burned the candle in his eyes

The door then opened and I heard a mountain of footsteps walking in the room, I slowly opened my eyes and sat up, coming face to face with Connor. He didn’t look too happy, but I knew he would be wary around me. I scared him.

He looked over my neck where my burn previously was, he didn’t touch it or anything. He nodded over to someone who magically appeared behind me and then suddenly I saw flashes of something in front of my eyes.

My mind screamed in horror as I watched the images before me, in the distance I heard horrified yelling, but my ears refused to pick up the rest of the sound, it was just screaming, yelling and blood. At first, I thought of this vision was about a vampire.

But something about it felt so familiar, like I had seen this before, first hand.

A voice screamed once more,

then everything went dark...
