Beta Xavier Costa.
Chapter 14

Eleanor Amato - POV

“…arrange a meeting at eight, and we can discuss that situation.” Xavier’s voice was getting closer, so I switched the television off and walked to the foyer. I was standing near the main door when he reached the foyer, and he turned towards me and for a couple of seconds, he stood frozen.

For a couple of hours I had known him, Xavier had been very good at hiding his emotions but looks like a crack formed in that indifferent mask that he wears because I saw lust swirling in his eyes, but he quickly masked it in and looked away.

He sure knows how to dress up. He was wearing a black shirt with the top few buttons open, revealing the tattoos on his chest, paired with a pair of black pants.

“Finalize it, and we will talk about it tomorrow,” he said before he disconnected the call. When his eyes looked back at me, a smile formed on my face.

“How do I look?” I asked him. I expected him to ignore my question, but he surprised me by opening his mouth.

“You look less like a slut today. What happened?” he asked me, and this made the smile fade away from my face. For a second, I thought that he would just compliment me, but I didn't know he would say something like this.

“If you don't want to see me as your mate, then it is fine. But at least treat me like a human being, beta Xavier. If you wanted to say something like this, then you could have kept your mouth shut.” I told him before I turned around and walked out of the house.

Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry.

I am so stupid. I thought that he would at least want to be my friend, but how wrong was I? He treats me like I am some sort of a rogue.

I felt his presence behind me, but I chose to ignore it and looked ahead. The sun had gone down, and in a few hours, it would be dark again, for some reason, I was eagerly waiting to see the moon again.

Right then, a Bentley came and parked in front of us, and Beta Costa walked towards the car, opened the back door, and looked at me. “Aren't you coming, darling?” he asked me in a charming tone, paired with a smile.

That was the same man who insulted me less than a minute ago, and it made me wonder how he could change his behavior so fast. I badly wanted to punch that smile off his face, but I controlled my anger and walked towards him with a fake smile of my own.

“Thank you,” I told him, but just before I got in, Xavier held my hand, sending sparks through my body and bringing me close to his chest. He bent down so that his lips touch my ear, and this made me suck my breath in. “At least show that you are in love with me. I don't want this deal to be ruined because of you,” he said, and I could clearly hear the threat in his voice.

I turned around to make eye contact with him, I gently placed my hand on his rock-hard chest and pushed him away from me. “Of course, love,” I told him in my best sweet voice before I got inside the car, he quickly closed the door, walked to the other side, took a seat next to me, and soon we were off.

It took us a good fifteen to twenty minutes to cross the Full Moon pack’s border and another thirty minutes on the road to reach the neighboring pack. When we arrived at the pack house, Xavier got down and quickly walked towards my side, and opened the door for me.

I took his hand, got down from the car, and stepped aside so that he could close the door. The Alpha and Luna of the pack were waiting for us on the porch, and they both looked like they were in their fifties but with huge smiles on their faces.

“Good evening, Alpha.” Xavier greeted, and the Alpha nodded his head. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ (F)indNƟvᴇl.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“I am sorry, I had to call you two for dinner today, Beta Costa. I know how it must be for new mates like you.” the Alpha said.

“There are no issues, Alpha. Duty always comes first.” Xavier responded, and the Alpha nodded his head.

“Please come in. Let's go and have dinner,” he said, and they led us inside the house. Once we reached the dining area, Xavier and I took a seat, and the Alpha and Luna took a seat at the head of the table.

“Congratulations once again for finding your mate, beta Costa.” the Alpha said.

“Thank you, Alpha. I was extremely delighted when I found her yesterday.” Xavier said, and I nodded my head to show how enthusiastic I was too.

“Okay, let's talk about the alliance.” the Alpha said, and then, they began talking about the alliance while I tuned them out. Soon, the omega walked in with the food, so I began eating. After dinner, we moved to the living room, where we were served champagne.

“Good evening, everyone.” I looked towards the entrance to see a young man, probably a few years older than me, walk inside with a huge smile plastered on his face. He looked very similar to the Alpha.

“Ah, right on time.” the alpha said as he got up and walked towards that man. “This is my son. He will be talking over the pack after he finds his mate.” the alpha introduced.

The men began talking again while I tuned them out. “Thank you so much for agreeing, Alpha. I will let Alpha Derek know that you are willing to form an alliance with us. He will come to meet you with the documents later.” Xavier said as he got up from his place, and the Alpha nodded his head.

“Sure, it was nice having you two here. I will see you two around.” the Alpha said, I nodded my head, and we walked out of that house.
