Chapter 22

Beta Xavier Costa - POV

Without a second thought, I dialed her number and waited till she picked up her phone. “Xavier! I thought you wouldn't call.” Jade’s overly sweet voice said.

“Come to my house now,” I told her in a monotone before I hung up the phone and went upstairs to the guest bedroom that I always use whenever I have a woman in my house. Five minutes later, I heard the clicking of the heels, and the room door opened.

The overpowering scent of her cologne made me gag, but I made sure to have a neutral look on my face. “Baby, I thought you would have forgotten about me,” Jade murmured as she ran her hand on my back.

I quickly turned around and pinned her to the nearest wall, which made her moan out in pleasure. She was wearing a sleeveless red dress that was barely covering her ass. “Aren't we going to bed?” she asked me as she looked at me through her partially opened eyes.

“Shut up, I don't want you talking,” I commanded before I quickly tore the dress off her body, exposing her naked body to my eyes while she tore my shirt, making the buttons fly, and she quickly got to work with my pants. Once all our clothes were out of the way, she tried to kiss me but I moved away and stared right into her eyes as I began to mercilessly fuck her.

Her moans only made my anger intensify, but I didn't stop until I heard a different scream. It was a scream filled with agony and pain, and this made me stop.

For a second, her screams made my heart ache, but the thought of her together with that man was enough to bring my anger back. “Why did you pull out!” Jade whined when I didn't finish what I started.

“I am done,” I told her as I quickly wrapped a towel around my waist and rushed out of the room. I don't know why I am feeling this way, but the thought of Eleanor withering in pain made my heart ache. I ran downstairs, and when I opened the front door, I saw her on the grass in a fetal position. That man she was with earlier was beside her when I saw Marquez come a few minutes later.

I didn't hear anything that they said because my eyes were solely focused on Eleanor, she was half-conscious, and her face turned so that our eyes locked. Her iris was swirling with hurt and betrayal, but I just stood there without moving.

Soon Marquez left my house with her, but I continued standing there. “Baby, let’s go and continue where we stopped.” Jade placed her hand on my shoulder, and it only made me step back.

“Get out of my house, Jade,” I mumbled.

“What! Just because that bitch made a scene doesn't mean we shouldn't continue what we began, Xavier.” she asserted, and this made me look up at her with a glare. She took a slight step back, feeling the amount of anger that was being emitted from my body right now.

“Get the fuck out!” I yelled as I roughly pushed her out of my house and locked my door.

I should have felt satisfied, happy, or even content. But why did I feel remorse?

I know she deserved it, but I felt like I might have gone a little too far.

Eleanor Amato - POV

Beep, beep.

That sound woke me up, and I looked at the unfamiliar ceiling above me. “Ellie?” I turned around to see Marquez get up from the chair he was seated in and walk toward my bed. “How are you feeling?” he asked me.

I didn't know what to say. Everything that happened last night flooded my memory, and this made the tears fall out. “Do I disgust him so much?” I mumbled when I felt Marquez squeeze my shoulder.

“He is an idiot, Eleanor,” Marquez said, but I didn't listen to him. The sort of pain that I experienced last night was something that I would never wish on my worst enemies. I tried to move a little, but I still felt some pain in my lower abdomen. “The doctor said that you would still feel the pain, but it would be gone in a few hours,” Marquez said, and I nodded my head.

Knock knock.

Both Marquez and I looked toward the room door to see Samuel walk in. He looked pissed and tired. “Eleanor.” he looked ashamed.

“I am fine, Alpha Derek,” I told him.

“He shouldn't have done that to you.” Alpha Derek yelled while I remained quiet.

“Marquez, could you help me up?” I asked him, and he held my shoulder and helped me up. My head started to spin, but the dizziness slowly faded, and I looked at both men. I know people would call me crazy, but deep down, I feel like he didn't do it purposely.

I don't know what was wrong with his first chance mate, but now I have made it my mission to find out because I don't think I can surfer without a reason.

Bang!

The door burst open, and Xavier walked inside. He looked like he hadn't slept all night. “Eleanor?”

“I told you to not come here, Xavier!” Alpha Derek yelled at him.

“Look what you have done to her!” Marquez yelled.

“I don't fucking regret it. I just came here to tell her that she was breaching the contract,” he said, and this made a frown appear on my face. “We agreed that you wouldn't sleep with anyone in this pack,” he explained.

“You think I was sleeping around with Ivan? Is that why you slept with Jade? For revenge?” I asked him exasperated.
