Sarah Williams – POV

Where the h e ll would I find beta Alan in this enormous pack?

“We can use the mind link to find him.” Jane chimed in, but I shook my head.

“Don’t you remember the warrior saying that he had blocked everyone from the mind link?” I asked her, and she snorted.

“We are his mate, Sarah. Our mind link is special, so we will be able to communicate with him even if he has blocked everyone out from his mind,” she explained, for a second I felt like that was a good idea, but that soon flew out of the window, when I realized the reason that beta Alan was missing at the moment.

“After the stunt that I pulled on him this morning, I doubt he will listen to me,” I answered, and she growled at me before she became quiet again. I searched everywhere in the pack house, but he was nowhere to be found, so I left the house and made my way to his house. The closer I got to the house, my heart rate was gradually increasing. Flashes of what happened last night came into my mind, which made my throat dry.

“We can find him using his scent.” this idea stopped me in my track, and I let out a huge sigh of relief.

“Well, sometimes your brain works too slow, but you do end up getting a sensible answer,” I told her.

“At least my brain works. Not like your rusty ball of mush,” she said sarcastically, and I immediately cut off our mind link, I didn’t have the time to argue with her right now. I closed my eyes and relaxed

my mind, and soon my senses heightened, and the smell of sea salt and pineapples consumed my entire body, making me sexually aroused again. The smell was pulling me into the forest, so I opened my eyes and started walking.

The lush green trees formed a canopy that prevented excess light from entering, which was just perfect for a hot summer’s day. The forest floor was dry, which was sc att ered with dead leaves and all the other microorganisms crawling around. I walked in deeper till all the buildings vanished from behind me, and everywhere I looked, I only saw trees.

“Beta Alan!”

“Beta Alan, where are you?” I started to scream his name at the top of my lungs, hoping that he would come to me because I was already exhausted from walking in this forest wearing a pair of three-inch heels. I stopped in my track and bend over my knees to catch my breath.

“What are you doing here?” a baritone voice growled behind me, which made me jump in fright while one of my heels got tangled with an exposed root, and I fell to the ground.

Argh! Do both father and son have a habit of frightening people?

I dusted my palms and elbow and looked up from the ground to see beta Alan standing as tall as a tree with an intimidating look on his face, but what made me lose my breath was the sight of his shirtless physique. We were lost in each other’s eyes for a couple of minutes before the chirping of the bird broke our trance, and I quickly got up from the ground and took a step away from him. “Your father has come to the pack. “Will you be coming?” I asked him, and time, I dared to look up at

him, which was a big mistake. His eyes had turned a charcoal black again while his body was slightly trembling. He started to take a step towards me while I took a cautious step back, this game continued till I was trapped against a tree bark and his warm chest.

“How could you claim another male wolf as your mate, when I am still here, mate?” beta Alan’s voice was deeper and rough, it didn’t sound like him at all.

“B…Be… Beta Alan, please step aside.” I stammered while my eyes. were wide, and my breathing became shallow.

“If I claim you as mine, then you would never be able to parade around me with another male wolf, right?” he said, and I felt my heart sk ip a beat. I placed my hands on his chest and tried to push him away from me, but it was like he was rooted to the spot. He slowly brought his face closer to mine while I was yelling at my wolf to do something, she was jumping for joy inside my head.

“Be…beta Alan, y…you are not in the ri…right state of mind, p…pl…please step aside.” I pledged with him. But his face only. inched closer till his hot and plum lips touched mine, igniting the dormant fireworks between us. My mind became blank for a while, while I was consumed by my sexual desires, and his hand that was under my shirt, and slowly made its way south. My core wast throwing in want and anticipation.

“Beta Alan!” a loud voice broke me from the spell that I was in, and I abruptly pushed him away from me while panting. Beta Alan turned around to see that it was Noah and his face contorted in

anger.

“Your father is waiting for you in your office,” Noah said, but I can feel the anger still radiating from Beta Alan in waves. He glared at

Noah before he stormed back towards the pack house. Tears slowly flowed down my cheeks when I realized that I was about to be marked by the person who strongly detests me.

“Hey, shush! Nothing happened, Sarah.” Noah immediately wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a genuine hug.

“No…Noah, I…I…told him to stop, but h…he,” I hiccupped while he stroked my hair and whispered soothing words into my ear.

“Please stop crying, Sarah. Didn’t I come and stop him in the nick of time,” he asked me, and I nodded my head. We stayed that way for a little while longer before I was forced to get back to work because Noah too had a training session to conduct.

“How did you know that I was here?” I asked him while we were walking back to the pack house.

“I came to meet Beta Alan regarding a training session and that is when his father told me that you were both gone for a long time,” he explained, and he came to a stop in front of the pack door. A few warriors were sc at tered around near the pack house, and now everyone’s attention was on us.

Well, I thought only women are good at gossip.

“I will meet you later,” he said, and I nodded my head, he stared into my eyes a few seconds longer before he leaned forward and placed a chaste kiss on my forehead before he walked away.
