Alexander’s heart quivered, and his chest rose and fell violently, akin to the sensation of ingesting an exceptionally bitter pill that sent bitterness coursing through his entire being.

For nearly two decades, he had held thoughts of the young girl close to his heart. He had carefully preserved this relationship as his most cherished memory. Nonetheless, he now realized that this significant memory held no importance to Olivia.
