The Hawk family banquet was today. 

Charlotte knew that Vanessa was going to the Hawk residence for a meal. She was very excited and pulled Vanessa to check on her makeup. She felt that Vanessa’s makeup did not make her shine, so she changed the color of her lipstick and picked out other clothes for her. 

Vanessa was afraid that she would neglect Charlotte if she went to the Hawk residence. After all, Charlotte had specially. hurried from Estain City to Lantrie City to attend her father’s funeral 

Charlotte pushed her and William out of the door. “Hurry up! I’ll stay at your place. If I’m in the mood, I’ll bring Danny to the market to buy some vegetables to rook. If I don’t feel like cooking. I’ll just order takeout” 

William wanted to bring Danny along. 

Danny was unwilling to go. He gestured anxiously. “William. I’m not going. You guys can go.” 

He didn’t know how to speak yet. He had to work hard to learn how to speak first and not embarrass his sister. 

Ben was now helping Danny with language training every day. He was also staying at Lilyville.

“Let’s go together. Nessa, ask Danny to come with us.” William and Danny had some difficulties communicating, so William asked Vanessa for help. 

Vanessa thought for a moment and gestured to Danny. “Danny, let’s go together. The Hawk family is very nice. They will

She knew that Danny was sensitive and wanted to bring Danny along. 

Danny gestured anxiously. “Vanessa, you guys go. I’ll be at home with Ben and Charlotte. Go and eat in peace. I won’t go. Once I manage to learn how to speak, we’ll go together.” 

When he gestured the last sentence, he clearly paused for a moment. 

Vanessa’s heart ached. 

Danny smiled again, his eyes shining like stars. “Don’t worry, Vanessa. I will definitely learn how to speak.” 

“Yes, you’re so smart. I’m sure you’ll be able to speak soon.” Vanessa gestured, encouraging Danny. 

“Okay, you should leave now” Danny gestured and pushed Vanessa again. 

“Let’s go. Danny doesn’t want to go,” Vanessa said to William. 

“Okay.” William didn’t try to persuade him anymore. 

He guessed that Daimy also wanted to learn how to speak first. 

Charlotte’s eyes were filled with an ambiguous light. She moved closer to Vanessa and whispered, “There’s a surprise in your bag. Take it out when you go to bed tonight.” 

“What is it?” Vanessa was curious. 

“You can put it on at night. Go quickly. Remember that you can only use it at night. Be good and listen to me.” 

Vanessa thought it was body cream. 

She followed William out and downstairs.

It was her first time going to the Hawk residence Vanessa could not suppress her nervousness and sat very straight.

William smiled dotingly “It’s fine It’s in the trunk. I prepared it in your name.” 

Vanessa knocked her head helplessly. Im always like this I didn’t prepare a gift when your sister came back. Now that I’m going to your house, I didn’t prepare anything again” 

For a moment, she wondered if she did not understand the ways of the world at all. 

William reached out and ruffled Vanessa’s hair. “It’s no big deal. Don’t worry, just relax and enjoy life. I’ll take care of everything.” 

Vanessa looked at William gratefully.

William’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He reached out to cover Vanessa’s eyes. “Don’t look at me like that.” He wouldn’t be able to hold it in. 

Vanessa quickly retracted her gaze and looked out of the window, the tips of her ears red. 

William looked at Vanessa’s side profile and smiled. 

The Hawk residence was especially lively today. 

Arthur’s two younger sisters were here as well. They were William’s second grandaunt–Ruby Hawk, and third grandaunt–Topaz Hawk. 

William also had a fourth grandaunt named Amethyst Hawk. Amethyst’s entire family moved to Yochal more than ten years. ago and rarely came back. 

Ruby and Topaz’s family backgrounds were not bad. 

However, in terms of reputation, Ruby’s family was much better. s. 

Today, almost everyone from Ruby and Topaz’s family had arrived. 

Both of Ruby’s sons and daughters–in–law came over, along with Ruby’s three grandchildren. 

Two of her grandchildren were boys and the remaining one was a girl. The eldest one was two years younger than William, and the youngest was 16 years old. All of them were good–looking. 

Topaz’s family consisted of more people. Her three sons and daughters–in–law came as well. Topaz, had six grandchildren in- 

total. 

Out of the six, four were girls and two were boys. 

The younger one was eight or nine years old, while the older one was twenty. 

Today’s family banquet was held in the largest dining hall in the Hawk residence. 

The large round table could seat more than 40 people. 

In order to prepare dinner, more than ten servants started working at around two in the afternoon. 

Before five o’clock, William arrived with Vanessa. 

Yvonne was chatting with two of her cousins in the garden. 

They chatted about the places she had been to in the past few months and which places were fun. When the next summer vacation came, they would go on a trip together. 

Upon seeing Vanessa, Yvonne’s eyes lit up and she ran over. “Vanessa.” 

The two cousins also greeted her. “Hello, Vanessa.” 

“Hello.” Vanessa was not used to being referred to by her first name by her relatives. 

“Vanessa, I want to sit next to you when we eat later, Yvonne said coquettishly as she held Vanessa’s hand. 

Vanessa smiled. “Okay.” 

She was liking Yvonne more and more. She was pure and passionate. 

“William. I went to take a look just now. The servants are still cooking. It’s still early for dinner. You should show Vanessa around so that she can familiarize herself with the place, then go to your room to rest!” Yvonne said. 

“You’re so good at making your sister–in–law happy.” William smiled. 

Yvonne smiled too and chuckled. “Of course. She’s my sister–in–law after all.”

William gave Vanessa a tour of the house. “There’s an artificial lake over there. The lake was dug more than 40 years ago when the Hawk residence was being refurbished. Over the years, it has been cleaned from time to time. In the beginning, we bought two black swans, but later on, the other birds came by themselves.” 

Vanessa saw several species of birds resting on an island in the middle of the man–made lake. 

There were some trees on the island, and there were bird nests on the trees. 

Some birds were on the branches, some were on the island, and some flew around. 

Looking at such an environment, one would feel relaxed and calm.

She suddenly felt like sketching a design. 

William watched as Vanessa stared at the scenery in the distance. He did not disturb her and just stood quietly beside her. After Vanessa retracted her gaze, he pointed at a building not far away and said, “That building is our house.” 

The Hawk residence occupied a large area of land and there were several buildings inside. 

William didn’t know how when the refurbishment was completed, but it looked very new. The garden–style buildings were antique. 

William introduced. “Mom and Yvonne live on the second floor. We live on the third floor, and the servants live on the first floor. The study on the third floor is facing the island. You can see it once you open the window. If you like the environment. here, we can come and stay here often” 

“Sure.” Vanessa replied. 

He was really meticulous. 

“Let’s go. I’ll show you our room. William said. 

Just then, a servant came over and said respectfully to William. “Mr. William, Mr. Arthur wants you to go to his study. He said that he has something to ask you”
