Hi. I’m Justin. I’m 19 years old. And, yeah, I’m a vampire. But don’t go and think I’m one of those stereotypical crappy vampires. I don’t go murder people and make it look sexy. I don’t burn in the sunlight. I can't fly or turn into a bat… Even though that would be pretty cool!

I’m not gonna get into the birds and the bees about everything. Let’s just say my dad is a vampire and he fell in love with a mortal woman. There are actually quite a few of us out there. It’s actually the only way vampires can reproduce. They call us hybrids.

Major differences between us and true vampires are that we are still alive. We grow old and eventually die. We also don’t need to drink blood to survive. If I want to, I can grab a burger and fries and hang out with my friends. I call that a major improvement! Not that we can’t drink blood… I just find it distasteful.

I have my own magic too. I can glamor my fangs away. In fact I can glamor all of me, if I wanted to. I can completely disappear if I choose. I can see in the dark and hear better than any human. I can also do something we call “blink.” Basically all I have to do is think of a destination in my mind and I’m there in a blink. I don’t understand the physics of it, but it is what it is… But that’s not really part of the story.

This isn’t your average “love story.” It’s about my best friend. And yes, I loved her. Actually, I still do, and probably always will for the rest of my life, even after her murder. This is a story about revenge.

But, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you about Aurora.
