Bridging Worlds: Book 1 Celestoria's Time
Outsider Amidst Royal Strife

In the Minstrell Chalice of Ignisfell, a subdued atmosphere settled over the tavern as Kiryo, still recovering from the brutal torture he endured, engaged in conversation with Geran and Davhil. Though the wounds on Kiryo's body were almost healed, the ordeal had left him visibly frail and weakened, standing straight but bearing the lingering echoes of pain.

Geran, his concern etched across his face, inquired about Kiryo's well-being, reflecting both relief and worry in his eyes. "Are you feeling any better, Kiryo?" he asked.

Kiryo, his voice still carrying the echoes of pain, shook his head slightly. "I can stand, but the strength is slow to return. The torment lingers."

Amidst their exchange, the atmosphere in the tavern shifted suddenly. A distant, thunderous parade sound reached their ears, mingling with the hushed murmurs of the patrons. The people around them began to stir with curiosity. Sensing significance, Geran stood up and approached a hurried passerby.

"What's happening out there?" Geran asked, his gaze earnest.

The passerby, caught up in the frenzied anticipation outside, paused briefly to respond. "A decision has been made! The princes are set to clash in a battle to determine the new king."

With a sense of urgency, the informant darted out of the tavern, leaving Geran and Davhil to process the weight of this unexpected development. Davhil, inherently good-natured and worrisome, turned to Kiryo.

"Kiryo, this clash might bring chaos to Celestoria. Even if we're not from here, our presence might be affected. Shouldn't we do something?" Davhil suggested, genuine concern etched on his face.

Kiryo, a strong and stoic figure, remained indifferent. "Let them fight. Our involvement in their political dramas is unnecessary. We're outsiders, and stirring in their affairs will only entangle us in unnecessary trouble."

Geran, sharing Kiryo's sentiment, nodded in agreement. "He's right, Davhil. Our focus should be on our journey, not the conflicts of this kingdom. Let's not get involved in matters that don't concern us."

Davhil, torn by his worrisome nature, ultimately recognized the wisdom in their words. "You're both right. Our path lies beyond the borders of Ignisfell. Let's not be drawn into the drama that unfolds here."

As the distant echoes of the impending clash between princes reverberated through Celestoria, Geran, Kiryo, and Davhil reaffirmed their commitment to staying aloof from the political turmoil. With a shared understanding, they focused on their own journey, determined not to let the kingdom's internal strife disrupt their course.
