Aiden’'s POV

"What?" I asked Zeke as he quickly stepped forward to our direction.

My eyes didn't left the piece of material he have in his hand.

I can smell a fainted scent of an outsider mixed with an ink on that paper and I figured that its a letter, probably from a rogue.

"A trusted friend knew I'm working with your pack in return for my mother's health and he managed to send this news to me.” he handed me the letter and I quickly opened it.

I noticed your interest with the vague transaction of the fifth North pack with the rogues and decided to let you know the news you probably didn't heard of yet. Despite the bribing made by Elon of Ravenous to the rogues, no participation on their part will occur. I pity the poor Alpha for being used though he deserved it, don't you think?

Though the elders who disguised themselves as leaders will lose their lives.

P.S. 1 don't know how to deliver this message so maybe your Alpha friend can retrieve me from the pack guards?

“Is this true?” Nick who's reading the letter next to me asked Zeke and I looked up from the paper to Zeke for answers.

"I told you he's a trusted friend.”

“How about the blood oath?"

“That Alpha was an idiot to wrap the rogues under a blood pact, believing we got a leader. Rogues are rogues. The elders who displayed themselves as leaders sacrificed themselves in the first place for the supply they needed that Elon gives.”

Nick nodded. “I'm not sure if this is genuinely true but since you said your friend is trustworthy...” “This won't change a thing, right? We're still going to attack whether what written in that letter is a fact or not." Zeke cut Nick.

And he's right.

No one can stop me from saving Ashira, anyway.

I looked at the people around me and their eyes showed intense determination that fueled this fight even more.

“Let's not waste any more time.” I said. “Nick, prepare the shifters as I instructed. I'll inform Aros and David about this change of plan.”

Nick nodded and he was gone in an instant.

“I'll join the attack. I want to save my best friend.” Lucianna said. I watched Jacob snapped his neck to look at his mate. I knew he's against it.

“No. You'll stay here.” Jacob refused.

“You're underestimating me again, Jake.” she looked Jacob straight in the eyes. As if talking inside their personal portal.

Jacob sighed. “Don't get lost in my sight.”

I decided to leave the two of them and headed for the office. I grabbed my phone then called David and Aros in conference.

“I'll be executing the attack right now. News reached to me that the rogues will betray Elon and Ashira is in grave danger more than the both of you knew. I put the matter of whether you'll want to bring your battalion or not in your hands.”

The conference ended and both Alpha insisted that they will stick with the previous plan though the matter of their arrival will still be the same considering the distance.

“Aiden, we're ready.” Nick mind-linked me. I exhaled a hot breathe before responding to him. “Ashira?" I'm reaching our portal. “I'm coming to get you.’

Elon's POV

“Those fuckers! Ahhhhhh!"

I tossed every fucking things near me and it hit the walls, my screams draining the oxygen inside my lungs.

"Alpha Elon, I warned you about this. Rogues are traitors, they will never change.” Marion, my beta, said as if I didn't know that now!

I took the risk and failed again! I fucking knew rogues are deceiving but I made a pact with those elders and they fucking-

I have no more cards left. The bitch of a stealer mate of Aiden is already pregnant! I won't be able to produce a descendant by using her! I should have killed that bitch rather than taking her here! If I only knew she’s worthless!

And those fucking worthless rogues are fucking cowards! They sent a fucking letter of insult to me, informing me of their wicked deceit!

“What's your next plan now, Alpha Elon?” my Gamma, Tharus, spoke.

I screwed my eyes shut and my nose flared as I inhaled hastily.

"Some of our pack’s shifters are rejecting your command to participate this war, Alpha Elon. No one wants to fight anymore ever since you sacrificed the lives of those young soldiers for revenge with the Prime.”

My teeth gritted upon remembering the downfall of my own pack. I am left with nothing.

In the end, I can't even avenge my father.

My narrowing eyes opened and Marion almost jumped when my glare directed on him.

“I'll kill that bitch so that full-of-himself-Aiden will get weak! I'll kill him, too!”

I will definitely be killed.

If I can’t use that worthless stealer and can't fight with Prime, then I'll leave a scar on Aiden’s life and be satisfied watching him suffer at my afterlife!

The door of the room opened and my mother, Sofia, entered while seated on her wheelchair. Mother even got weak from all the stress and pain she got through. Yet, I couldn't achieve my promise to avenge her lost mate, my loving father.

“Leave us.” she ordered. Both Marion and Tharus left the room silently after giving a respectful bow on my mother.

Sofia strolled closer to where I stand and reached out her hand to me. I grabbed it, falling one of my knee to the floor and gave the back of his palm a kiss

“Mother. This is my end.” I whispered on her hand. Tears started pooling down my eyes. I'm panicking, I'm scared and I'm angered. “I don't want to die yet.”

I started crying like a child. Loud aching screams of agony and fear enveloped the room but I didn't seem to care about anything.

“Now, now.” Sofia hugged my head closer to her chest and caress my head like she always does when I was a child. “Stop crying, my dear. You're an Alpha, for God's sake.”

“I'm going to die,” I cried, sniffling. “I haven't avenge Father and yet I'm going to be killed. Mother!!!"

“Shhh. Hush now, darling.” she consoles. “You will die, that's for sure. But you can still achieve something much more painful than killing that poor girl you abducted.”

I slowly stopped crying and looked up to my mother's face. Her expression is serious and her smile was almost terrifying. I rubbed my nose like a lost child, as well as my tears.

"What do you mean, mother?”

She bend down a little and get something underneath the wheelchair and I watched as she slightly struggled. My forehead knotted when I saw two candles on her small hands. One red in color and the other was black. Both unused.

On her other hand was a small bottle with purple liquid and a small piece of paper.

“The red candle is mixed with a dark magic and the black one contains a drop of a stealer's blood.” she explained and handed the candles to me.

“What is this for?”

She ignored my question and continues explaining further, handing the small paper on my hand. "Written in this note are the words you needed to chant in front of the woman. Make sure to lit the candles before reading this then put this,” she gave me the tiny bottle. “put the liquid in your mouth after reading the chant and spit it on the girl once it tasted bitter.”

I'm confused with what she was saying.

“What is this? Will this kill that bitch?”

Mother smiled slyly.

“No, Elon. This is how you steal a stealer.”

Ashira's POV

The door opened as I was seated on the corner of the room. My arms resting on my knees which was on my chest.

As soon as I saw Elon entered the room, I tugged on my skirt, afraid to show any more skin for his perverted eyes.

There was something evil on his eyes right now. Greater evil than what he has before. What is he planning to do this time?

I prayed hard for my gift to work once he try to come near me. I won't let him come closer. My mind was too afraid of even entertaining that once he come to touch me, I might be stolen just like what Aiden said he might do.

“Don’t get close or I'll send you flying again.” I warned though I'm not even sure if I could do that again.

Elon chuckled. He was two meter away from where I am when he stopped walking and I exhaled my relief.

Did it work? Was he scared?

“You know,” I narrowed my eyes at him when he started speaking. “I thought you're worthless. A pregnant stealer, one I couldn't plant my seed to give me a pup who will continue my legacy. You're better off dead, I thought.”

My teeth gritted.

A cold black liquid flowed from my head to my face.

Suddenly, my heart stopped beating and my vision became blurry.

What is happening to me?

There's a tingling pain striking into my heart but I don't have enough force to even ache for it. But it hurts.

It hurts a lot.

I saw Elon laughed and speak something but I didn't heard it as darkness enveloped my consciousness.

There's only one word I uttered in my mind before fainting completely.

Aiden’s POV

We reached the Ravenous pack faster than expected. We stopped running upon reaching Ravenous lands, observing the surroundings for possible attacks.

I was too distracted since I can't reach Ashira through our portal. Was she sleeping? Did Elon do something to her?

No, I don't feel any pain so she’s definitely safe.

But why is she unresponsive?

“Aiden. There's no guard.” Jacob said. He was standing next to me and my army was behind us. Nick was on my other side while Lucianna stands next to her mate. Zeke came with us and he was standing just behind me.

I looked around the perimeter of the Ravenous land and there was no guard at sight.

“What is happening here?” Nick whispered. “Its too quiet. And no one seems to be waiting for our attack. Or even ready.”

I gritted my teeth. Is this some kind of plan Elon has?

"Keep moving. Be mindful for any surprise attack.” I ordered and my army in their wolf forms howled.

We continued running until we reached the gate of the pack.

Still nothing.

“It's questionably quiet.” Jacob observed.

The gate was even open and no one seemed to mind closing it for protection. This is far from what we expected to face.

I slowly walked inside the gate and no one came to attack me. Not a single soul in sight. I can feel the presence of the people, they are here. But they are not attacking us. Were they hiding?

A noise rumbling from of the house was heard and I moved into my fighting stance. Someone is coming.

I heard calming footstep walking closer. It's not even running. And its just three person.

We waited until the three people come to the light and when I saw their faces, I already knew who they are.

Marion, Tharus and Shimla.

Why does it seem to me that they are not trying to fight us?

“I came for my mate.” I said through gritted teeth.

The three stopped on a safe distance.

"We know you're coming. No one of ours will fight with yours.” Marion answered.

My forehead knotted and I stood straight. They will not fight? Will they hand Ashira to me this easy? She's not dead. I'm sure I'll know if she was even harmed. So how?

Why?

As if Marion read my thoughts, he spoke again.

“The people of this pack rejected Alpha Elon as its leader, we are now only tied by a fading bond, waiting for a new Alpha blood to fight him over his title.”

I'm not shock at all if his own people turn their back on him. This is what he gets for being a self- centered, conceited bastard.

“Where is he?"

I'll be more than happy to kill that fucking coward and took this pack under my reign. I'll get everything from him as payment for abducting my mate. And I'll make sure to end his pointless life. "He already accepts his faith. He is waiting at the Arena, the whole pack people are already waiting there as witness for the new Alpha to reign.”

Nick moved closer to me and whispered.

“I don't think this is a trap. Even if it is, they don’t stand a chance.”

I breathed heavily. I already know that.

“Where is my mate?”

“I'll go find her.” Lucianna suggested.

I might be trying to manipulate this situation but I know Zeke is not the type to escape a responsibility.

“I entrust you of killing Elon, Zeke.”

I saw how Nick snapped his head to me. Jacob, too. I gave them the look and they didn't utter a word.

“Do you want to avenge Zeuracious? Revenge Ashira for me? Can you kill Elon, huh, Zeke?"

He looked at me with such hunger in his eyes. He studied my face if I was serious and when he saw my sincerity, he smirked.

"Do you even need to question my skills?” he jumped excitedly like he will play a boxing game and look to Marion. “Where is this Arena?”

“I'll guide you, then.” Tharus answered. Zeke moved and my army of wolf followed.

I looked at Nick and Jacob. “I'll get Ashira. I can smell her in that cabin.”

“Aiden.” Jacob intrude before I could take a step. “We are needed at the Arena. At least two Alpha must witness the fight or else it will be void.”

Fuck! Fuck laws!

"No"

“I will find her.” Lucy said. “I promise we'll follow at the Arena.”

“I'll go with her.” Nick suggested.

Loud screams and cheers was heard and we looked towards where the Arena was. The people of Ravenous was cheering that finally, their worthless Alpha will be gone at last.

Zeke must have arrived there.

I gritted my teeth.

“Let's go, Aiden.” Jacob nudge at me.

I don't want to. I want to see my mate safe first!

“I'll mind-link Jacob once I'm with her. Please, go.” Lucy insisted.

Fucking hell.

Lucianna’s POV

“In here. I can smell her inside.” I watched Nick as he turned the knob.

“I can smell her, too, you know.” This guy is such a blabber.

Once the door was opened. I saw my best friend laying at the cold floor.

Her hands were freed but the handcuffs used to tie her was still beneath her immobile hands. “Ashi!” I run to her. Her skin was so cold to touch. “ Oh, God.” I said when I saw her belly bump. She really is pregnant!

But why is it this big already?

“Wake her up, no, inform your boyfriend that we find her.” Nick ordered. I growled at him. Is this guy an Alpha of what? He likes ordering around a lot.

Nick started waking Ashira and she was being responsive. She's waking up!

“She's okay. She's awaken.”

I rolled my eyes. I can see it, beta.

Instead of expressing my irritation, I did reached on to Jacob.

“We found Ashira. She's starting to wake up. We'll be there in a bit so please tell Aiden to wait." God, Ashira, your mate is so head over heels in love with you.

“Okay. Come here now.’ Jacob answered.

Awww. He misses me too soon. I laughed inside but didn't bother replying to Jacob because Ashira completely regained her consciousness.

“Luce?” her eyes glittered when she looked at me. In a second, he looked at Nick and knotted her forehead before looking back at me.

I threw myself at her and hugged her tight.

“Thank God you're okay!" My eyes are watery, tears are attempting to pool down my cheeks and I'm just trying to suppress it.

“Don’t go jumping on a pregnant woman, you crazy.” She joked and I laughed.

“Sorry. Let's go. Your mate might run here soon if we won't go to him now.” I guided her to stand while she laughs

“I bet.” she laughed and I joined her.

We started walking out of the Cabin and headed to where the Arena was. Nick kept walking behind us and I wondered why he was unusually quiet. I decided to ignore him when Ashira squeezed my palm with her hand.

“I'm glad you're here.” she spoke in a low voice.

"Always. If its saving you, I'll always tag myself along.”

She looked at me with a knotted forehead. She was about to speak but the crowd cheered which caught her attention.

I can see the fight from up here and at the high railings is where Jacob and Aiden stands.

I saw Aiden turned and look at us. When his eyes saw Ashira, I'm sure I saw it shone. He is relieved and happy.

I looked at Ashira next and her eyes are wide open, shocked.

Oh my! I'll be a witness of there heartwarming comeback! This must be an exceptional euphoric feeling for Aiden after the pain he faced when he lost her.

And now, I'll see how they will-

My thoughts stopped when Ashira started running down. Aiden was just straight ahead and she’s running towards her.

Awww! I'm gonna cry!

I saw Aiden was lost, barely moving his legs as he step forward, he will meet Ashira halfway!

My eyes waters as they grew nearer to each other and my heart flutters from happiness for my best friend.

They were a few inches away when I saw Ashira run past Aiden and to the railings. Aiden followed her with confused look. Hurt. Questioning.

She... was looking down the Arena field where the fight are taking place.

Right now, Zeke was holding the bloody body of Elon on the ground. I saw Zeke's claw as it strike on Elon’s neck. The last move that ended the fight.

But I was confused on what I heard Ashira shouted when Zeke's claws were in the air.

“ELON!!! NOOO! DON'T KILL HIM! DON'T KILL MY MATE!"
