Chapter 20

Third person's POV

"Did you send the letter I ordered you to send?" A witch asked.

"Yes, my lady."

"And what's their response?"

"Nothing. They are still looking for more clues."

"Alright. You may go, if anything happens you are to come and tell me immediately beside that, you are to not interrupt me under any circumstances." She demanded.

"Yes, my lady."

As the slave closed the door behind him, he let out a shaky breath. He had been dreading his current position for years now, the witch's slave.

Fifteen years. For fifteen years, he had been working. Serving and doing everything she desires.

"You okay?" A not supposed to be cheerless voice asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. How are you today, brother?"

"Not as sick as yesterday."

"Good."

The older slave simply said as he went to continue his sweet espionage time on the dark wood pack.

A couple of hours later, the witch ordered her slaves to keep spying on the dark wood pack until any new actions are made. As she entered her house, she was welcomed by her new man. Before he could question where she had been all day, they ended up in their bed all night.

In the meantime, the heat's starting to hit Luna Alexia as she was having a night-walk with her mate.

Alexia's POV

As we were walking up a hill to Landon's castle up in the sky, I picked up a few things about the pack, including that all of the children in this pack are friendly towards everyone. No bullying, unlike my old pack. Just lively and happy children playing and helping each other.

I also noticed that my body's temperature isn't normal. Sometimes I'm almost freezing and sometimes I'm very hot. Maybe it's the heat hitting me, which makes me have to remember that I'll need to continue the mating process with Landon. Should I tell him?

"We're almost there," Landon announced to which I grinned at him.

"Well, I can't wait to see it." I giggled while taking his arm in mine as he grinned.

We carried on our walk until we finally reached the hill's top. There, a cosy hut stood almost at the end of the hill's edge.

"So...What do you think?" His nervousness hardly visible. Maybe I wouldn't have known that he was if I hadn't known him well.

"It's beautiful," I whispered as I was in awe.

The dark almost black sky was cloudless as the burning bright stars decorated it.

I didn't even mumble for a while; hesitated to break the silence that resonated everywhere. The soothing silence.

"Come with me to the edge, we'll sit there." He said and we did. We sat down near the brim, backs on the grass, heads to the stars and hand in hand together, we watched the night as it moved on.

"Now I understand why you said it's a castle in the sky." I smiled to which he hummed, amusement easily appears on his face.

The hut along with the edge of the cliff was so high up you feel like you're sitting with the silent universe.

Stars shone as they were spilt over black marble, glistening in the heavens. The night stratosphere was such a welcome sight, appearing like magic each nightfall, promising to return as she faded in dawn's first light. There were times in the daytime under skies of blue when I'd think of those faraway celestial bodies and how they'd return after the shadows blended into the dark.

"Do you want to spend the night here?" He said, making me quickly snap my head towards him to find the moonlight showing the slight blush on his face.

"Don't you have work?"

"Don't you want to stay with me for a while?" He pouted.

"I do. It's just...I don't want to be a burden on you."

As I said, his smell invaded my senses as he engulfed me in a tight hug.

"Stop saying you are. You're the total opposite of that. And to be frank, I finished extra work to spend the night with you here." He admitted as his heartbeats increased.

I let my emotions pour out as I started laughing out loud.

"You're so god damn amazing." I laughed as I hugged him twice tightly and his heartbeats lessened once again.

"What am I gonna do with you and your mouth?" He snickered.

"You shall never do anything." I stuck my tongue out.

Suddenly, my body was burning.

"Hey, you okay?"

"It burns!" I cried.

"It's gonna be okay." He kept lulling as he sat up, cradling me before lifting me off the ground. As he quickly strolled to the hut, I could feel the pain lessen as I become closer to him.

"Heat." I choked out before beginning to sob, my arms never letting Landon get away from me.

"I know." He growled as a blush crept to his cheeks.

As Landon took care of me all the time, I let us finish the mate bond due to the pressure of the painful heat, letting us become one.

"How did my love sleep?" I woke up to Landon brushing my hair away from my face, planting kisses all over the face.

"I want to sleep some more." I groaned. Too tired from last night rough events.

But to be frank, It was ecstatic to become one with my mate...

"I know I'm handsome but you need to stop drooling." I was shocked and quickly slapped my hand to my mouth, checking if there was actually any drool to find nothing.

He tricked me!

"Handsome? Yes. Drool on you? You're not a cotton candy to make me drool." I scoffed.

He stuck his tongue out,

"We need to get to the packhouse now; because if we're later than that then Emma will bomb us with questions you wouldn't appreciate." He sighed at the last part.

And it wasn't until I realised what he meant then I started getting as red as a lobster.

"I agree." I hurriedly agreed as I started to get ready.

"Alexia, You are to come with me and tell me where you have been and what you have done with my brother!"

As I groaned, Landon yapped at his sister,

"Just leave us alone Emma."

It was her turn to sigh,

"What else do you want from her? You bring her trouble everywhere you go."

He scoffed, "I do not."

Just before Emma could reply, I snapped at them.

"Stop it both of you! Enough yelling at her."

I shrieked at Landon as he got angry but before Emma could smirk, I yelled at her too.

"And you restrain from thinking that everything he does hurts me. What we do is none of your business Emma so don't go around !"

"You'll be sorry Alexia." She said after a moment of silence, her eyes turning a bright shade of purple.

"What's going on here?" Mary appeared from the hallway.

"I'll make you sorry, I'll make all of you sorry!" Emma glared at both of me and Landon, not even glancing at Mary.

"The world goes more dangerous as you accept your new place in this pack my dear Lexi." She chuckled, her voice changing as if someone or rather something took over her.

Stepping in front of me, Landon growled at the werewolf in front of us,

"Who the hell are you and what did you do to my sister." He took harsh and deep breaths, his human nails changing into claws.

"Landon this is not Emma." Mary finally spoke.

Just before Landon replied, Emma smirked evilly at us before frowning. Her eyeballs rolled back as her body fell with a thump on the wooden floor.

"Emma!" Mary gasped, running towards her as Landon followed behind.

We ran to the pack's hospital as Emma's body sat almost lifeless in her brother's arms...

What happened back there? When will she wake up? What happened to her?

Questions buzzed through my head as I sat on the chair beside Emma's hospital bed.

There she sat asleep. Maybe barely alive, nothing to support her besides the attached IV's, heart monitors and oxygen tanks.

"What do you think happened to her?" I broke the ice, as I sat with Landon alone, waiting for our Emma to wake up and make some snarky comments on how we are being too emotional and that's she's fine.

"I don't know...I just want her to wake up..." He sighed, letting his head fall in his hands as he sat desperately, waiting for his sister to open her eyes again...

I had an older version of this chapter which I actually deleted after I had posted it. I know some of you (who read it) want it but I'm really sorry I don't want that one for this one is much better (and not dirty hehe~)
