He pulled her in his arms; Kate resisted because she was angry; David was used to her angry mood when she woke up from her sleep, so he carried her forcefully and put her in his embrace.

He hugged her tightly and kissed her hair. “What happened? What makes my wife so upset?” He kept coaxing her in a soothing tone. Kate felt awakened by his pleasant voice. “I woke you, and you were not beside me.” She complained in a low voice.

David laughed at her words, “I went to the bathroom; I thought you would not wake up so soon.” He explained his words patiently, as if he was coaxing a little bunny with his sweetness.

Kate snorted, but she said nothing. When David felt her silence, he raised her head from his chest and kissed her lips. “I'm here now, don’t be afraid.” He knew she might see something terrible in her sleep. Kate bit him in punishment and shook her head. She wanted to hug him to sleep since she was used to it, but when she turned, he was not there. Finally, she jerked in her sleep and woke up; her heart almost burst into fear.
