Chapter 1

Pain.

That’s what I felt when I woke up.

Groaning, I slowly climbed out of bed. I don’t need an alarm clock to wake me up, I was used to waking up at 6.00 in the morning. I went to the small bathroom and brushed my teeth. Turning on the shower, I stripped of my clothes. When it was warm, I got inside and washed my dry, greasy hair and body quickly.

When I got out, I wrapped a small towel around my average sized body of 5 feet and 6 inches. I walked out of the bathroom, to my small, wooden drawer, and picked out some worn black leggings and a very used cream colored sweater, that I have had for years now.

Oh God, sorry! I forgot to say something about me. I’m very forgetful sometimes

My name is Skylar Chance and I live in the Pack House. This pack is called the Crystal Pack. I’m 19 years old and I haven’t found my mate yet. You normally find your mate when you’re 17. So yeah... Also, I’m the Omega of this pack.

That’s about it

I went downstairs. It takes some time because I sleep in the attic. I went down the 3 floors and walked to the kitchen where Scarlett was. Scarlett is my best friend here and she is an Omega, as well.

“Hey Star,” I said hugging her

“Hey Sky, come on help me finish this,” she said pointing to the bacon she was making.

I nodded and helped her finish up making the eggs and the toast.

Star and I are the only Omega’s in this pack. She’s an Omega because her parents were Omegas before her, but I’m an omega because I can’t ‘shift’. We made the breakfast and put it out on the table, just as the pack members started filling through the doors.

“Get out of our face, stupid cows,” one of the members spat.

Star and I walked back to the kitchen and sat at the small table we kept for ourselves. We weren’t allowed to eat yet. We talking about Alpha Jack and how to mean he is. He literally hates me for some reason.

When everyone left to go to school or work, me and star brought the plates back to the kitchen and washed them up. When we finished, we finally got our breakfast and sat down. As Scarlet was putting the dishes, her sleeve had risen up and I noticed something.

“Star, what’s that on your hand?” I suddenly asked her.

“Nothing,” she said, pulling her sleeve down more and looking away.

I grabbed her hand and pulled it towards me and lifted the sleeves. Scratches covered her arm, everywhere.

“What the fuck star I thought you stopped!” I said angrily, standing up and towering her shorter frame.

“I’m sorry Sky. But. . . you don’t understand. It helps with the pain.” she said, starting to cry.

I sighed and pulled her into a tight hug.

“I’m sorry for shouting at you, but you know I don’t like this. Please stop, at least for me?” I asked her.

“I promise, I’ll try,” she said, nodding and wiping her tears.

“How about we hurry all this up and go on a run?” I said, trying to cheer her up.

“Sure,” she said, smiling at me and continued eating her breakfast.

Me and Star cleaned the whole Pack House. It wasn’t even hard anymore.

When I finished cleaning the Alpha’s room, I went back downstairs to the kitchen where Star was.

“Hey, are you ready?” I asked her, putting all the cleaning equipment back in the closet under the stairs.

“Yes, come on! Let’s go!” She said, grabbing my arm and pulling me through the back door.

“Whoa, calms down Star,” I told to her laughing

“It’s been so long, that I’ve been able to shift and Jade has been begging to be let out,” she said excitedly. Jade is star’s wolf.

“Fine go on then,” I said and she nodded and took her clothes off and changed into a brown wolf.

She did look beautiful. Jade ran around the forest while I was the lookout. She wasn’t really allowed to shift only once a while.

Both mine and stars parents are dead. I was a Rogue with my family, before they died to protect me. Then I came to Crystal pack and became the Omega. After Jade had her run, she came running to me with her tongue out. I kneeled down and rubbed her fur and she purred. “Hi, Jade do you like that,” I asked and she nodded her big head. “Can you give Star control back please we need to get back?” I continued on.

She nodded and changed back. Naked. We don’t need to hide from each other really. She put her clothes back on and turned to me.

“Thank you so much, Sky. I really needed that. All the air in my fur. It feels lovely.” Scarlet told me, dreamily. “Oh god sorry, i forgot you can’t shift. I’m so sorry.” She came back in reality, and gave me a sad smile

“It’s okay Star, let’s go back to make dinner,” I said and she nodded following me to the kitchen.

We made dinner and gave it to them earning insults back. We ate ourselves and then me and Star went to the attic. The attic was split into two small rooms. One was mine, the other was Scarlet’s.

“Goodnight,” I said and walked into my room.

I had a small mattress in the corner and a small bathroom. Laying down on the mattress, I started to think before I went to bed.

Oh shit, I forgot to tell you something! Oops. You see, I can shift into a tiger and it’s white and really big. But the problem is, I’m the last tiger out there in the world and everyone is looking for me. Good and Evil alike. So I have to lay low.

I wish I could shift into my tiger. Was my last thought, before I fell into a dreamless sleep.
