Chapter 62 

Shocked as to how his Son stormed away from his sight, Moore took fast steps to the office glass window. From the window, he saw Cole speaking into the phone with smiles all over his face and how he excitedly jumped into his car, and drove off.

“He disappeared for a week. We were in the meeting all through the morning and once the meeting ended, he disappeared 

from the conference room. I trailed him to the office only for him me. He said he has an important meeting.”

If she’s a sane person, She won’t be stalking a grown–up person who has declared he doesn’t love her and doesn’t want anything to do with her either. Cole stares in confusion as a police car pulls up in front of him. His frown got even deeper when he saw three cops get down from the car and approach him. 

He slid down the glass window of the driver seat as one of the cops was about to knock on the window. 

“How may I help you?” His voice was filled with so much confusion. He wasn’t someone to break the law and he was more than certain he was driving within the speed limit. 

“Please come down, Mr Matthis.” 

Even though Cole was very confused as to what was happening, he obeyed. He e got out of the car and came face to face with the three police officers. 

“You are under arrest for Assault and Attempted murder on one pregnant Vanessa Summers.” 

“Vanessa? What the hell?” Cole said not believing all that he was hearing. 

He shook his head. “This has to be some kind of joke.” 

“You heard us, Mr Matthis. Please come with us.” Another cop said, gesturing towards the police vehicle. 

“I am sure there is a mix–up somewhere. I’ve got an important place to be. My kids are waiting for me. I need to pick them up from school. They would get scared if they don’t see me.” Cole had no idea when his eyes got heavy with tears at the thought of this. 

He had been looking forward to the first day he was going to pick up his kids from school and today he was so close to seeing that dream turn to reality but Vanessa took away his proud father moment.

“You hit someone? Traffic rules?” 

“No. Bitchy Vanessa is suing me for Assault and Attempted murder.” 

“I’ve never wanted someone dead so bad in my life. I wished you actually ended her life that day.” Jessica’s anger didn’t go unnoticed in her voice. 

“Where are you now? At the station?” 

“Not yet. They want me to come with them. I was thinking I could report to them later because I have to pick up the twins. Hailey would be so disappointed in me.” 

Cole sighed. 

“Try to stay calm, dude. I will do what I can to get you out of there as soon as possible. Follow them and don’t say a word to them until I get to you.” 

“And please don’t feel sad about Hailey and your kids. Everything will be sorted.” 

Cole nodded reluctantly, forgetting that Jessica could not see him. 

“Please reach out to Hailey and let her know what’s happening so she will go get the kids. I will forward her number to you now. Please let her understand that this is beyond my control.” Cole said with a heavy heart. 

“I’ll make her understand. Please don’t feel bad. I will be with you shortly.” 

“Thank you.” Cole ended the call and instantly sent Hailey’s number to Jessica. His phone was taken away from him after which he surrendered to the Cops, Two officers ushered him into the police vehicle while one got into his car, driving it
