Emrys shook hands with Montague with just the right pressure.
Montague gave Emrys a deep look before ushering everyone into the mansion.
After arranging things for Emrys and Yelena, Montague took Chloe aside and said, “Chloe, I said I would send someone to pick up your friend. Did you really have to go in person? Did you encounter any trouble on the way?”
“We ran into Igor.”
Montague’s expression changed, then he asked with confusion, “Did he not give you a hard time?”
“Igor and his men stopped my car, wanting to take me to see their president, but fortunately, Mr. Lund was there, so they didn’t succeed.”
Chloe recounted the events that had transpired earlier.
Montague glanced at Emrys in the hall and then withdrew his gaze. He said, “If what you say is true, and Emrys can kick a car flying with one foot, then he is undoubtedly a martial artist. If only he could lend a hand…”
“Father, they’re my friends. I invited them over just for my birthday party. I don’t want you to involve them in the gang,” Chloe interrupted in a firm voice
Montague smiled and said, “I understand. I won’t make things difficult for Emrys, and I’ll consult him when the time comes.”
Chloe frowned slightly and said, “It’s best not to mention it at all. I don’t want any impurities in my friendship with Yelena.”
She invited Yelena over just for her birthday party, not to discuss anything else.
Emrys was Yelena’s boyfriend. If he were to be dragged into the gang affairs, it would undoubtedly upset Yelena. Chloe did not want to witness such a scenario.

Montague comforted her, but inwardly sighed. Since Emrys got into that car, it might not be so easy to extricate him from/them.
As Chloe was the prominent young lady of Montague Association, her birthday party was naturally an extravagant affair. It was a grand spectacle, essentially a lavish cocktail party.

He was never particularly interested in social events like these. This time, he was only there because Yelena had dragged him along to serve as a surprise gift.
He never intended to interact with anyone, except for beautiful women.
Woody’s smile froze for a moment, then he laughed, “No problem, Mr. Lund. You really have character. You’re not even willing to give any respect to a small fry like me.”
