"Let me at least make you some coffee?" Louis said whispering with me still in his embrace.
"I told them I was going now, we left it for another time…" But the moment I said that I felt my heart sink, I didn't know when that other time would be, nor if it would really happen…
"So are we going to see each other again? Can I take you out for coffee another day?"
"I want." The answer came out on its own. "But I don't know if it will be possible." The sigh came out on its own too.
"Why not?" He lifted my chin, making me look at him, and looking at him now, not knowing when we would see each other again, or if we would see each other again, was too difficult.
I couldn't understand how I already liked him so much, I had known Louis for two days and I was simply in love with him.
Almost as if we were mates, but it was impossible, he was a human, wolves didn't have human mates, simple as that.

At that moment it was easier, it was easier for me to deceive both of us that we would see each other again, to leave that hint of hope alive.
I was fooling myself too and I knew it, and it hurt me to see the smile he gave when he heard me say that, before kissing me again.
Louis took me to the Pack, and on the way he even planned when we would see each other again, which restaurant he wanted to take me to, and which coffeeshop too.

"I stay here." I said turning to him.
"Security can't let me in? I'll drop you off at home, it must be far away here." He said, looking around, and like all Packs, our borders only had closed forests. Away from the villages we actually lived in, to try to stay as far away from humans as possible.
"No need, I stay here, they take me home, it's very bureaucratic to let a car enter." I tried to make it sound convincing, but Louis frowned. "I'll be fine." I said smiling at him.
"Okay then." He responded and pulled my chin to kiss me, it was so quick and natural that I couldn't hold back.
But the guards saw it.
Damn it.
I quickly got out of the car and saw the guards opening the gates for me, but I had to turn around before getting in, I saw Louis smile at me, and there I felt that a piece of my heart was left inside that car, a piece of me I had stayed there with him, I just didn't understand why.
"Miss Ellie." A guard called me, and I had to turn around, then I heard Louis' car leave, I turned around again in time to see him nod and continue on his way. "She arrived." The guard spoke on the radio, probably to Callie.
"Can someone take me home?" I asked and immediately two guards nodded and soon one of the cars came to pick me up and we continued to Pack's House.
With every second that passed my heart beat faster, I feared my parents' reaction and I knew they wouldn't let this happen cheaply. I went up the stairs and didn't really know where I was going, but as soon as I got to the living room I saw my father sitting in one of the armchairs with a glass of whiskey in his hand.
He was never in the living room.
He was definitely waiting for me.
"May I know where you were Ellie?" He asked without taking his eyes off me.
"I went out with the girls, I told you." I tried to stick to the initial story.
"Do you have the courage to lie to me, like this, to my face, Ellie?" He asked without changing his tone, and that scared me even more. "Jaque felt sick in the early morning and had to be hospitalized, Troy didn't come to work this morning because of that... And you can imagine my face when he said that Jaque was hospitalized and I said that she had gone out with you... I was worried about you and you didn't answer my calls. Since when do you lie to me?" The last question came out with a scream, and I felt a chill run down my spine.
"Is Jaque okay?" I felt scared for my friend.
"It was just a spike in fever, she's already medicated and at home."
"Ellie." My mother appeared from the kitchen door and she ran towards me. "By the Goddess, you are fine." She hugged me tightly, but I could only stare at my father, glaring at me over her shoulder.
"Since when have you been lying to me Ellie?" He asked again and I swallowed hard.
"It was just this once, I really wanted to go and I knew you wouldn't let me if I went alone."
"I really wouldn't let you. But where were you?"
"It was a party, Dad, I ended up losing track of the time, but I'm fine, alive, whole and at home..." I turned to leave.
"Do you want me to believe you were at the party until morning, Ellie?"
His sentence made me freeze, I had my back to him, but I couldn't take another step.
"I know you were with a human…" My father said and I felt my body freeze, I looked at my mother and she was staring at me with wide eyes.
"Ellie." She said almost in a whisper.
"I was, but so what? I'm 24 years old, Dad, I'm not a kid anymore. I was just having fun."
"I'm not against you having fun, but you won't date a human, as long as you live within my Pack and under my roof, you follow my rules, you won't see that human again." His words brought me confirmation of what I feared most, but at the same time I felt from the bottom of my being that it wasn't my father's word that would prevent me from seeing Louis.
"And how are you going to stop me?"
"You won't leave the Pack anymore." Now I felt angry that he thought he could control me like that.
"What? Are you going to keep me trapped in here?" I shouted indignantly, he was being ridiculous.
"Gerald, you can't arrest her."
"Thalyssa, don't start." I had never seen my father respond to my mother.
"Why?" She fought back.
"Because when it comes to humans, you always defend them, you have no say in this matter…"
"Why? Because Ialready dated a human? Because I lived among them? And that takes away my right to decide what's best or worst for our daughter?" They never talked about it, it was the taboo subject in our family.
"Don't mix things up, one thing has nothing to do with the other."
"You can't decide our children's issues alone…"
"Thalyssa, let's not discuss this now."
"Alpha, the meeting…" Troy appeared from the meeting room. "It's about to start… Hi, Ellie, I'm glad you're okay."
I just waved at Troy, he couldn't have come at a worse time.
"I need to go, but that doesn't change the fact that we haven't finished this conversation," He told me taking the last sip of whiskey, and turned to my mother. "Come on Thalyssa." He said and stood up trying to hold my mother by her waist, but she pushed his hand down and walked in front of him.
"Our conversation isn't over either, Gerald."
I felt a tear fall from my eyes, I looked at my parents leaving the room fighting, it hurt me to know that they fought because of me, but even more so that I was trapped inside the Pack from now on.
