Lucas sped forward. In an instant, the car was left far behind and unable to be seen.
“His purpose of getting someone to follow me should be ensuring whether I still have contact with Newborn Perfume,” Tiara turned around and said with certainty.
“Is that so?” Lucas raised an eyebrow, asking, “You agree not to join Newborn Perfume?”
“No, but he may think he has convinced me.”
Tiara didn’t promise Darren anything. Overconfidence blinded him, and he believed he had once again fooled Tiara with his blatant lies.
It was not the first time he had lied to Tiara, and he was quite skilled at it now.
In the past, for Tiara, Darren was a truly trustworthy person. However, her trust in him had been destroyed when she saw his cheating on her and his affairs with Leticia.

“What’s your plan?”
Lucas had no intention of interfering in Tiara’s decision. He was interested in and curious about her way of fighting back.
He originally planned to get even with that damned two–timer to seek justice for Tiara, yet he changed his mind later. His newlywed wife was intelligent enough to protect herself and punish Darren in her own way.
Tiara looked forward calmly. “He is calling a press conference and going to shirk all responsibility to me.”
“Oh?” Lucas‘ tone was also calm, though his eyes glinted with a trace of coldness. “When?”
“He didn’t tell me. It should either be tomorrow or this evening, I guess.”
“Why do you think so?”
“Because he can’t help waiting.

Tiara turned to look at Lucas. “What
happened last night has shamed him publicly. and damaged the reputation of Wave Perfume. He doesn’t have much patience left. Moreover, the organizing committee is investigating the matter, and there will be a result soon.”
“Are you going to take responsibility?”
Lucas didn’t think Tiara would be that
obedient.
“Unless I’m crazy.” Tiara continued word by word. “I’ll get everything belonging to me back.”
In Lucas‘ eyes, Tiara’s face was no different from that in his memory. Even if it was not stunningly gorgeous, he was reluctant to avert his gaze. The more he gazed at it, the more attractive he felt it to be. The only thought in his mind was to cherish her forever.
He pushed a stray hair behind her ear, his voice gentle. “Turn to me at any time if you need help.”

The simple sentence warmed Tiara’s heart a lot.
In the years of being with Darren, she had been used to handling things herself.
Darren had been busy starting their business, socializing with the partners, and fighting for more market share. He had spent little time watching movies, dining, or even talking with her. Only on the days when there was a development of new products, Tiara would share the joy with him and sense his affection for her. Most of the time, she felt inferior to the common employees in the company.
Every time she complained, Darren would suggest that she should be more tolerant, more understanding, and not always being unreasonable.
Gradually, Tiara got used to such “independence.”

“Where are we going?” Tiara asked.
She was much more at ease as she leaned against Lucas‘ shoulder.
“Go for a meal. You are hungry now, right?” Lucas said.
“How did you know?”
Tiara wondered in surprise, “Is there a monitor on me?”
As if seeing through her thoughts, Lucas chuckled. “I won’t be that perverted to monitor you. I have eyes to see and ears to hear.”
He poked a finger at Tiara’s belly. Tiara felt itchy and dodged, and only then did she notice her stomach’s growling.

Lucas brought Tiara to a sky restaurant on the hillside.
With unique decorations and a dramatic natural landscape, the sky restaurant was quite popular in the city.
Despite the dominance of Western food, the restaurant featured exotic cuisine, and its top chefs from eight different foreign countries were able to meet every customer’s taste.
Of course, the food there was extremely expensive. Common people could hardly have a chance to enjoy.

She had expected the restaurant to be unusually exclusive, yet the price of dishes. there was still far beyond her expectations. Although she didn’t have to pay the bill, she felt pity for Lucas‘ money.
“Don’t you like it?”
Lucas was puzzled about why Tiara hesitated for so long.
“No. I just find it difficult to make a choice,” Tiara joked, not knowing what to order for a
moment.

Lucas turned to look at the waiter, saying, “Get several traditional specialties for us first. She needs more time to choose the rest.”

The waiter left immediately, and Tiara had no objections.
She was glad to see that, for she didn’t have to be struggling anymore. She closed the menu and put it aside, averting her attention from the shocking numbers on it.
She could certainly afford it, yet she had rarely done so. Darren had been persuading her to be thrifty during the start of their business, and gradually it became her habit.
Habit was indeed kind of an awful thing.
The dishes were served quickly. Just as Tiara took the first bite, her phone rang.
On the phone screen was Rachel’s name. Tiara cast an apologetic glance at Lucas and pressed the answer button.
“Tiara, I asked for a leave,” Rachel said

“He agreed?” Tiara guessed from Rachel’s relaxed tone.
“Yes! He signed without hesitation! Tiara, your guess is right. He was eagerly looking forward to it and even promised me a few more days off when hearing my travel plan. He must be hatching a plot these days.”
“I know.”
Rachel’s voice was loud enough for Lucas to hear. Tiara coughed twice with
embarrassment and continued, “Then you can have a nice journey now.”
“I’m not in the mood for a journey. Tiara, I have to stay and help you. If he dares to slander you, I can be a witness!”
