Tiara figured that indeed, she had to be fully concentrated when dealing with men like Lucas.
She cut to the chase and said, “I know Cosmos Group is participating in this season’s perfume contest tonight as well. I have a newly developed perfume, and I hope to join your company’s team.”

His tone was relaxed and extremely natural, and yet the teasing in his eyes made Tiara feel somehow familiar. Unfortunately, she couldn’t remember anything.
She thought, “Nothing will ever happen between me and that jerk Darren. If I marry Lucas, given his status and position, no matter what he is after, I won’t be at a disadvantage whatsoever.”

What she wanted was nothing but retribution.
The formalities were simple, and both of them had all the credentials needed. Things got done soon.
After getting out of City Hall, Lucas carefully put away the two copies of the certificates and put on his sunglasses to hide the smile in his eyes. Tiara ran a few steps to catch up with him, panting. She said, “Mr. Carroll, about the cooperation…”
He stopped in his tracks abruptly and turned around.

Even though he was wearing sunglasses, she could still tell that his eyes turned cold at once. She subconsciously loosened her hand that was grabbing his coat.

Then he let go of his hand and sat back in the car. Tiara followed him closely, yet she did not get in the car.

Lucas turned to look at her, his phone buzzing. Someone was waiting for him to

Through the sunglasses, she could not see Lucas‘ eyes, and she couldn’t tell his emotions from his expression.
“Wait for me at Cosmos Group before 5:00 in the afternoon.”
After that, he pressed the button to answer and pressed the phone to his ear. “It’s me.”
Tiara nodded and closed the car door for him.
She watched the car leave and was still tensed up, as she had an uphill fight awaiting.
She grabbed a bite to eat and bought a new outfit before taking her time to drive to Wave Perfume. During this period, Darren called her dozens of times, yet she did not pick up.
