With a fierce determination, I threw off the blanket covering me, got out of bed barefoot, and quietly left the room I was certain that i would find the evidence I needed in his study. 

I paused at the door of the study, listening to the silence. I pushed open the door and quickly stepped inside. The room was pitch black, but as soon as ! stepped inside, the lights flickered on, blinding me.
