Just maybe I am the most stubborn person I will ever meet but there is nothing that will keep me in this house when I know that Nancy is fighting for her life.

I wear my shoes and I can see how O’Brien is looking at me that he doesn’t approve with what I am about to do.

‘Wane we have been through this, this is not the best time to visit her. You saw what happened with Besa and what if something like that happens with Caleb?’

‘You will protect me.’ I say getting his car keys

He is looking at me with disapproval but there is nothing that he can do right now to stop me and I am not about to stay out whilst she battles for het life.

‘Do whatever you can do to keep me and my baby safe, I need to see her.’ I say walking out of the house

I get into the car and immediately start the engine and drive out.

My mind takes me to the day at the hospital when I had to battle for my child with Caleb, I had thought I had lost my child but I should have known better carrying a supernatural thing was going to take a lot to lose it.

I haven’t told anyone this but I have been feeling really weak since the hospital incident, it’s like my body is giving up on me but I am hoping that I get back to my normal self.

I sigh really hard and remember how it was like waking up in O’Brien’s apartment, I haven’t lived my usual life in months because to me it’s like days are passing by but in the normal world it’s months that are going by and my stomach is still the same. This whole Yakari and cult mess is making me feel like I am living in a world that is not mine.

I don’t even realise that I haven’t driven this far until I am at the hospital, I put myself together when I find a parking spot. After which I walk towards the building.

Caleb is pacing about just close to Nancy’s ward, he looks extremely exhausted.

‘How is she?’ I ask and he stops to look at me, I can see that he is still very mad at me.

‘You have some nerve showing up don’t you?’

‘How is she?’ I ask ignoring what he has said

‘I don’t want to repeat myself, I think it’s better you leave because I will not be merciful this time around!’

A nurse comes rushing towards us from the room.

‘Sir she is awake.’

‘Let me see her.’

She shakes her head

‘She wants to see your sister.’

‘Are you the sister?’ She adds looking at me

‘I am.’ I say quickly before Caleb can respond

I follow the nurse behind and she waits for me to get in.

‘I will leave the two of you alone.’ She says closing the door lightly behind her

There is a stench in the room that no one can ignore.

‘I am still alive.’ She says with a chuckle and it sounds so horsy I have to get some water for her from the table

‘You will be alive for a while.’ I say helping her with the water

She shakes her head after drinking a few drops.

‘I am not making it out alive, we both know this.’

I swallow hard, feeling my heart break into tiny pieces.

‘I don’t have much time and so when I gained consciousness I thought I talk to you.’

Tears betray me, she is really not making it out alive.

‘Caleb is not a bad person, he is a good person who has made some really bad decisions and sadly he is really rooted in all this that there is no way he is coming out alive. None of us are making it out alive.’

I hold her hand but then the part I touch turns to ice so I move to remove it.

‘Light and darkness can not mix unfortunately.’ She says

‘I am sorry I failed you, I should have seen this before. I should have done something to save you.’

She shakes her head, tears falling violently.

‘You couldn’t, both Caleb and I knew what we were getting into. We knew how it would end.’

I rise my eyes to look at her wondering what she means that they both knew what they were getting into.

‘Yes, I was part of the cult too.’

‘Nancy.’

More tears fall.

‘He didn’t give up our babies, I did.’

‘Nancy.’ I cry some more

‘We were of sound mind, we knew what we were doing.’

‘And him? What did he have to give up?’

‘He is your brother come what may.’

‘What did he have to give up?’ I ask this time firmly

She holds my hand tightly even though she is turning to ice

‘What did he have to give up?’

‘Your parents.’ She says holding me tightly and for a second it’s like my entire world has come to a stand still

‘We tried to get out, we did. But daddy offered us babies, the babies that we couldn’t have. We had to do what we had to do.’

‘Do you both realise what you did? Do you have an idea what you did?’ I ask wanting to move away but she holds my hand tightly even though her entire hand is fast turning into ice

‘Listen to me, you don’t understand how this works. You might be from the good part but there is more, you need to listen to me.’

I push her away and open the door where I come face to face with Caleb.

‘You!’ I say throwing a block of ice where his heart is

He didn’t expect it and it hits me so hard

I see security coming our way and I use my powers to freeze the rest of the world so that it’s just the two of us.

‘Our parents?’ I ask throwing another block this time aiming for his stomach

‘You had to give up our parents all for what?’

I no longer hand tears running down, my veins are turning blue from all the ice in my body and I can feel a great power taking over me. I move closer and I know one more kick and he will be gone.

Mother, dad and I look at each other. One final blow and everything will be like it was before. One final blow and we know our lives will be back to normal.

We hold hands; whirlwind, fire and water and our eyes are fixed on the last power before we can become whole again - ice.
