Chapter seventeen

My friends and I are sitting at the diner for our lunch break today. Nice to change up the scene and lunches. We like to do this once in a while when we feel like it.

We had a hectic two months with the Chase, the hunt, I remember going to the vamps place cause they needed my explanation from what happened at the Chase. I completely forgot about it, actually. They did say not to say a word so my mind pushed it at the back of my head. My mom moving away, knowing Lauren's moving away, might be war, and my horrible throwing skills to impale a dummy.

I told my friends about my first lesson since why not? I know no one needs to know but the need a good laugh from what happened the in past couple of months.

As soon as I told them, they burst into fits of laughter. "I know right? I completely failed."

"Hey, it's just your first time. So it'll get better, hopefully," Lennix said still chuckling.

"Hopefully."

We finished up getting ready to head back to the school. It sucks, why does Grade 11 have to be so hard?

When we got back, a circle of students gathered around something, or rather someone when we got close enough. We heard fighting, like grunt noises when people get punched or kicked.

Instead of leaving the fight like normal people, we went up to the fight since we're not normal people.

"What's going on?" I ask one of the students who are admiring the show.

"Keir Vance is fighting another vampire whom I've never seen."

I push my way through the crowd to get a better look at what's going down.

Keir punch's the vamp in the face as he goes flying. I couldn't really tell what his features are since he's covered in bruises from the punches Vance thrown. He gets up and I spot his midnight black hair, his bruised black skin. His chin and nose is sharp and pointy. His tattered grey t-shirt and jeans covered in dust.

From his blood red eyes, he's filled with rage. He swings his arm targeting his right rib cage. I swore I heard a cracking sound. I covered my mouth in shock when I see Ramose interfering trying to get the vamp away from Keir. Frey comes along and helps Vance off the ground.

That didn't work cause the vamp guy somehow manages to escape Blade's grasp.

Wait, why am I saying Blade? His name is Ramose, not Blade. I don't call him by his first name, only last.

The vamp then punched Bl-Ramose square in the jaw. Everyone gasps at the sudden punch. He took a couple steps back to study himself. Gaining senses his eyes flickered from golden yellow to deep crimson red.

Everyone knew this is not going to end well. Just as Ramose was about to attack, Vance did the same but the vamp outsmarted them both and moved out of the way. Before they knew it, both ended up on the ground in a milo second.

The vamp laughed hysterically at them. "You two are idiots!" He emphasized 'idiots' with venom. Ramose and Vance groaned before slowly getting up. Then out of nowhere, one other vamp came, someone I recognized. Rob? Ron? Raul? Whatever his name is came and snatched the laughing vampire and walked away, talking to the principle that he'll deal with him.

The principle nodded and continued walking towards us students.

"Alright everyone, shows over! Head back to class! Mr. Ramose and Mr. Vance, come with me."

Everyone oohs at the boys since they're in trouble. Both did take hard blows. I could see Vance walking from the pain in his rib cage. They're vamps so they'll heal fast.

The rest of the school day was slow and exhausting. My mind wouldn't pay attention to the rest of the classes. All my mind wondered is what ever happened to the boys

From the students whispers in the hallways to my locker for the end of the day, is that no one has seen them since the fight.

What happened to them?
