Upon hearing the door open, she dropped the newspaper she was holding. Having waited here for so
long, her bad mood had gradually subsided, but it wouldn’t change what she was about to do.
“Mr. Raymond.”
She called out politely.
lan Raymond moved behind the black marble table and sat in the leather chair.
“If there’s something, let’s talk two hours later; I have a meeting now.”
Maja Pennyfeather lowered her eyelashes. She had already waited for two hours, so she didn’t mind
waiting for another two. She was determined to get it done tonight.
“Sure, you go ahead.”
lan looked up, his deep gaze landing on her.
Jeff entered the room at this point, bringing lan a cup of coffee.
As Jeff was about to leave, lan asked softly, “Penny, have you had dinner yet?”
Maja had just been upset by Dana Shepard and hadn’t had the chance to eat dinner.
“No.”
“Jeff, prepare a dinner for her.”

“The meeting might take at least two hours; you should eat something.”

Jeff didn’t dare to bring her a regular staff meal, so he quickly contacted a star hotel. In less than half
an hour, a small dining cart was pushed to the top floor and in front of Maja.
Maja was a bit surprised, remembering the dining cart that had appeared at Carlene Shepard’s door.
A small table was placed before her, with everything from appetizers to desserts.
Maja wasn’t hungry, but the food was indeed tempting.
So she couldn’t resist, picked up the fork, and started eating slowly.
lan sat in the leather chair, holding a meeting, but his eyes kept glancing at her.
He saw her shove a piece of dessert into her mouth with the fork, and probably because she was
distracted, a bit of cream accidentally smeared on the corner of her mouth.
lan’s finger trembled slightly. He withdrew his gaze, pretending to look at the screen indifferently.
The overseas leaders were still reporting, but he found it bland.
After finishing her meal, Maja picked up the financial newspaper again, with her hair falling naturally,
revealing her small face.
Half an hour later, she was probably tired.
The newspaper in her hand fell to her feet, and lan’s voice unconsciously lowered.
She leaned against the cushion and fell asleep.
The meeting that was supposed to last two hours was prolonged to three hours due to some minor
complications.
After it ended, lan shut down the computer and looked at the sky outside.
The sky had completely darkened, and many lights in the building were turned on.
He texted Jeff, saying he would drive himself home tonight.
lan got up and slowly moved towards Maja.
She was in a deep sleep, making him reluctant to disturb her.
“Penny?”
Dressed in a well–fitted suit, he reached out to wake her. However, Maja happened to wake up at this

She thought it was Coco, as this was a game she often played with Coco.

immediately let go of his hand.
“Mr. Raymond.”
She looked outside and only then realized how long she had been asleep. She quickly pretended to
tidy up the trash on the small table to avoid the awkwardness of letting go of his hand.
The lights in the office were bright, and it was very quiet.
But she felt a gaze brighter than the lights landing on her coolly.
“Sorry, Mr. Raymond, I thought it was Coco.”
She laughed awkwardly.
lan had regained his composure, his tone indifferent, “What do you need?”
Maja breathed a sigh of relief, tidied up the trash, and threw it into the trash can. She wanted to take it
with her but heard him say, “The cleaning crew will come to sanitize later.”
She finally put it down and followed him.
“Mr. Raymond, hand over the renovation of Greenfield Gardens to someone else. My studio has spare
designers, I can introduce you to them.”
