Chapter 58 Biting Down Hard
Colton’s seemingly mocking and sarcastic words brought Cynthia back to those three years of being “forced to be magnanimous.”
Every time a scandal involving Colton and Elsa spread, there would always be people who came to laugh at her. They would ridicule her both openly and secretly.
She ignored them all, clinging to the last shred of illusion about Colton and playing the role of a perfect Mrs. Zeller.
I bet that’s the kind of magnanimous wife he wants, quiet and submissive. Upon thinking about that, Cynthia smiled faintly. “After all, compared to someone who knowingly had an extramarital affair, he merely unknowingly has an extra child.”
Colton’s face suddenly darkened. After giving her a deep look, he turned around and strode away.
Upon witnessing such a scene, Yoel’s originally anxious heart surprisingly settled down peculiarly.
He gazed deeply into Cynthia’s eyes. “Don’t worry. I’ll definitely take care of the child’s matter as soon as possible so that Linda won’t be able to cause any more trouble. Once that’s done, I’ll come back and pursue you wholeheartedly.”
Cynthia felt somewhat helpless but still nodded. “Take your time dealing with the child’s matter so as not to miss the right opportunity.”
As the two were talking, a hurried figure accidentally bumped into Cynthia, spilling a few drops of wine on the hem of her dress.
“I’m so sorry! It was a mistake on my part. Why don’t you take care of it,

and I’ll cover all the subsequent dry cleaning costs?” The waiter was very sincere in his apology. Cynthia didn’t want to make things difficult for him, so she agreed.
Upon arriving at the bar’s restroom, Cynthia hadn’t even had the chance. to speak when a pair of strong hands pulled her into the makeup room.
Cynthia reacted extremely quickly, swiftly striking the temple of the person behind him.
“It’s me.” Colton didn’t expect Cynthia to use such a move and quickly raised his hand to grab her wrist.
Cynthia was taken aback and reduced some of her strength. Her knuckles struck the man’s cheekbone, leaving a red mark on his originally fair face.
Gently touching his slightly aching face, Colton said softly, “I’m fine.”
It was just a light hit. How much could it hurt? A hint of mockery appeared on Cynthia’s face. “When did Mr. Zeller learn to use such a despicable method as kidnapping people in the restroom?”
“As long as it’s useful.” Colton’s voice was indifferent.
Useful? Watching Colton’s indifferent expression, Cynthia felt a surge of anger rushing straight to her head. The two of us have been divorced for five years already. Yet, recently, he’s been provoking me at every turn. What on earth does he want? Does he still have feelings for me, or does he have another motive? I doubt he discovered I’m the person he truly likes.
“Mr. Zeller, if you have something to discuss with me, you can speak openly and honestly. Why resort to actions like this?” After Cynthia finished speaking coldly, she lifted her foot and walked towards the door.
“I’ve told you before. You can’t marry Yoel.” Colton blocked her way, staring intently into her eyes as he spoke, emphasizing each word.

His eyes were dark, with turbulent emotions swirling within.
Taking a deep breath, Cynthia tried to calm herself down and looked at Colton. “Mr. Zeller, you should learn more about the law. No one can interfere with my freedom to marry.”
“You’re welcome to give it a try.” Colton’s expression turned gloomy as he spoke in a deep voice. “Even if Yoel is foolish, there’s no way Mr. Zabielski will willingly trade his own business for a daughter–in–law.”
Just as I thought! Cynthia was so angry that she laughed instead, her gaze firmly locked on him. “Your methods are still so disgusting. However, I’m no longer the Francesca of the past. If you want to suppress Zabielski Group, Fashn Group won’t mind getting involved.”
Her aura erupted, not the least bit inferior to Colton’s.
After hearing all that, a mix of complex emotions filled Colton’s eyes.
Seeing the completely unfamiliar expression on her face. Colton could no longer suppress his exasperation. He pushed her against the wall with a mocking expression. “Do you really think you’re a daughter–in–law of the Zabielski family now?”
Cynthia was startled by his sudden movement. “So what if it is?”
Colton suddenly revealed a bloodthirsty smile. He raised Cynthia’s hand high above her head and pressed himself against her. “Oh, really?”
A tremendous panic swept over Cynthia as the look of aggression in his eyes was all too familiar to her.
Before she could react, Colton’s head was already buried in her neck.
The sharp pain made Cynthia gasp as Colton unexpectedly bit down on her collarbone!
It wasn’t until dark red blood seeped from her collarbone that Colton finally let her go.
Cynthia clenched her teeth tightly, not making a sound,
Standing in front of her, Colton looked at her with an air of defiance: “My woman will never become someone else’s wife.”
After a moment of silence, he approached Cynthia, attempting to close the distance between them. However, Cynthia took two steps back.
Seeing her guarded demeanor, Colton smiled mockingly. “Are you afraid of me?”
“You used this crude method to bring me here and even threatened to target Zabielski Group. Wouldn’t it be stranger if I wasn’t afraid, Mr. Zeller?” Cynthia mocked without any courtesy. Before she could finish speaking, Colton pulled her over, held her in his arms, grasped her chin, and fiercely kissed her.
Their lips and teeth brushed against each other. Cynthia’s hands pressed against his chest, but she couldn’t budge him in the slightest.
A metallic taste slowly filled the air. After an unknown amount of time, Cynthia reluctantly pushed Colton away and fiercely kicked him in the knee. “B*stard.”
After she finished speaking, she didn’t even give Colton time to react before she quickly dashed out.
Cynthia casually made up an excuse instead of returning to Yoel, saying that she had to leave first, and quickly got into the car and drove away.
It wasn’t until she saw the gates of the villa that she managed to free herself from her earlier emotions.

A chilly sensation swept across her face. Only then did she realize that her. cheeks were already streaming with tears. I don’t know why Colton keeps appearing in front of her again and again. Even though he used to disdain me, he’s now showing a bit of possessiveness toward me. However, I’m no longer the Francesca who’ll foolishly be moved by Colton’s casual gestures. In those unbearable five years, I’ve long lost all my love for Colton.
Back in the bedroom, Cynthia looked at the bright red marks on her collarbone, where faint traces of fresh blood could still be seen.
She gasped in pain and cursed Colton fiercely in her heart before finally finding some medicine to apply to her wounds.
When she looked in the mirror, she realized that her lips had become red and swollen at some point. It looked quite terrifying. Fortunately, Lukas and Luna didn’t come to find her today. Otherwise, she wouldn’t know how to explain such a scene.
After cursing Colton fiercely in her heart, Cynthia applied some ointment on her mouth as well to avoid facing Lukas and Luna’s questions the next day.
Just at that moment, Yoel’s phone call came through.
When Cynthia saw the caller ID, a hint of complexity flashed in her eyes. After hesitating for a moment, she still decided to answer the call.
