Though she appeared heartless and said many harsh words… she returned in the
end. Not only that, she even brought him back to the hospital and even waited until
Terrance came.
What did this mean? It meant that she cared about him and that she was worried
about his well-being. In that case, it meant that there was still hope for him to win
her back.

Actually, he didn’t have her number, but as an outstanding assistant, he called Henry
to ask for Victoria’s phone number, and the man gave it to him without a second

The young woman frowned at once. Why would he refuse the drip when he’s so

“I tried talking some sense into Mr. Cadogan, Miss Selwyn, but he won’t listen to me.
Have you left? Do you think… you can come back and persuade him?”

Alaric.

him, then lay down expressionlessly, closing his eyes.

scene, and quickly averted his gaze, pretending not to have seen anything.
Victoria felt somewhat uneasy but still smiled and said, “It was alright. Don’t tell me
you’ve been here this whole time.”
“Didn’t I say I’d wait for you? Who’d pick you up after work if I left?”
Henry couldn’t stand it anymore and stood up, clearing his throat. “You two chat. I’l
go take care of other things.”

“It’s freezing outside, isn’t it?” Bane commented while pouring Victoria a cup of
warm water. “Here, drink some to warm you up.”
Victoria held the cup in her hands. The warmth transmitted through the glass,
warming her up. That said, she didn’t drink it.
“You’ve agreed to the investment?”
“Yes.” Victoria nodded in affirmation. Whether it was due to guilt or not, she took a
few sips from the cup.

“So what if he did? This is your company, not his.”
